    Nokia really needs to change it's smartphone designs to be more unique in a sea of OEM designs. Also, really interested in the 5710 Xpress Audio, if the phone can support lossless music files, it will be an instant buy for me.

      have been thinking similar things as of late. But I see the strive to have 100% screen front side makes such a customisation become impossible.
      unless there is a considerable revival of alphanumeric phone with simplified OS, I'm not all too confident this idea will prevail for now.

    I'd love to have 5710 only if it has a Spotify or a RUclips Music player. I've wished to have a retro 4g/wifi phone with a spotify or online music player. I think Sony released a phone that's for music but if I'm not mistaken, it costs like 500 euros or more. I hope Nokia creates a retro phone with a good battery life that has online music player like spotify.

      A lot of their old phones like asha 302 had wifi. I don't know why these new phones don't have it. But they do have less than half the ram of the old ones, so it limits even the SD cards you can use to 32gb max...

      @vasiliyt8600 2 года назад +5

      @@waltonks8172 I am talking only about the functionality (UI, UX & functions) of the S60 v5 and the Symbian Belle OSs. Not to install an OS from 15+ years ago, on a new phone (wouldn't work anyway).
      Since new mobile low end CPUs, like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 205, 212 & 215 are used on Kai OS phones, Nokia could also create an OS based on the S30+ and give it more functionality.
      Nokia Mobile dropped many things during that time. Not because their things didn't worked, but because there were bought by Microsoft Corp. Meego was an excellent mobile OS, but was dropped just months after Nokia came up with it's first batch of Windows phones.

    I had been using the nokia 2720 flip since 2020 as a daily driver until last week when it died on me. I do not intend to have it repaired since kaiOS is the worst OS I've used on a feature phone as its full of bugs like the sim toolkit which always needed restarting. I really hope the new OS is an improvement.

    Nokia is really missing the BIG market of basic phone users like myself. Many basic phone users are already switching to smart phones because of issues like very very very small messaging storage. Just make a goddam basic phone for texting and calling. Those cameras, apps, games, radios etc etc are unbeatable on smart phones because of larger screens.

      For the low end and mid range phones, Android is a pig as even on well equipped Samsung and Google mid rangers there are quite a few hiccups that reviewers don't like to mention. I think Meego, Symbian OS or even WebOS could have been developed even further to be just as modern and functional as Android while being better optimized. It's a shame that MS abandoned Windows Phone as that too had potential and was quite fluid even on my old Lumia 520.

      I think Symbian has been shut down. When this happened, S30 still being used until now. So, I guess, S60 will never back from the dead until they announce its resurrection.
      I really love how S60 was capable of doing advanced features in compact form factors like amazing cameras - speakers - multimedia capabilities - strong signal reception - complete connectivity solutions etc., but I think there's a clear segmentation for phones with keypad as feature phones and smartphones that we know so far. Web pages have been optimized for smartphones too. I guess, the best solution for people who wants to use simple phone will be compact phones. But, the challenge is the battery capacity and components placement. At least, feature phones need to support latest network technologies like 4G or even 5G so it can be used at least to call people anywhere as 2G has been planned to be shut down. But the price won't be cheap.
