I switched to a flip phone because of my smartphone addiction. It's for mental health. Smartphone addiction is a serious disease. However, it is not seen as much of a problem worldwide. Now I use a flip phone and it's comfortable and I'm happy. However, I am worried about what will happen in the future when flip phones will no longer be produced. Although you can't buy Nokia flip phones in Japan, I hope that one day flip phones will become popular again in Japan.
I'm using a old Sony phone, removed all social network and entertainment, shopping apps and install minimalism Olauncher. It keep my phone look like a dumb phone, and always keep in mind the screen time should as minimum as possible.

@@AbdullaZakiI prefer the 2780 by far, bigger internal memory, functional RUclips app, hotspot and WiFi, 4g LTE, dedicated kai Os operating system which is a game changer knowing that Bada os, windows Mobile and tizen os don't exist anymore as we're stuck with android and iOS , google browser instead of that useless opera mini browser that serve no purpose and makes the LTE network pretty much useless and super slow and a dedicated app store with apps like UC browser, Gmail, Google Drive and the habitual shenanigans found on smartphones. For now, I have a Nokia C30 running android 11 with a mighty 6000 mah battery that I use as my main feature phone and that phone is a complete battery beast. I tried to kill it but the battery wouldn't die even after 2 to 3 days of extensive use. The c30 cost the same as a Nokia 2720 but the added ram, storage, massive screen and battery and the good WiFi connectivity, it's unbeatable and never mind the lack of os upgrade, it's the convenience that matters Unfortunately you're right on one thing, I haven't seen any newly fresh launch by Nokia and no Nokia phones with Android 13 out of the box while Motorola, Infinix, Samsung and Xiaomi are taking matters in hand
Oh such nostalgia. I do appreciate on this version that Nokia uses a USB-C for charging, to bring some modern amenities to feature phones. It's great that there are these types of devices available for anyone who's not that tech savvy. But i sure wish Nokia could do better in terms of availability and going a little more crazy when they renew old phones in this modern era...
Thanks for the review! This seems like a great alternative if you want a simple phone yourself but still want google maps. Being able to create a hotspot is also a great feture

Even though I no longer use Nokia ( Went to Sony Xperia 1 series since HMD no longer interest to compete in flagship class ) I still follow what they're doing through your videos and wish them improve since they're my childhood brand just like Sony and Motorola. I do interest in this phone and that at 4:00 is all I need but there little hope as sadly cheap low budget android is all HMD Indonesia sell nowadays as they basically only sell C series 😞

Anyone seen that HMD Global announced that they'll be launching their own HMD branded phones. For now they will launch alongside Nokia branded ones at least until 2026 when their licencing agreement with Nokia officially expires (unknown whether Nokia proper will renew with HMD Global, someone else or just stop licencing it's name completely).
I guess HMD gave up on trying to use the Nokia brand name in the hopes of having good sales. Regardless, my next phone won't be Nokia. HMD just keeps disappointing with their phones.

I confessed that I already bought the G42 in purple. Absolutely thrilled, my only complaint is the video quality , especially on video calling. Apart from that, the display, the battery life, the camera , the fingerprint scanner , the mono speaker are amazing . I cannot believe how cheap it was!
Actually the video quality is now sorted after a factory reset! Absolutely brilliant this cheap phone. Looking forward to see how the Nokia phones will become with the new battery replacement standard demanded by the European Union

I just bought this phone for my 96 year old granny. She is not tech savvy and just wants a basic phone. The bigger buttons should be much better than the small Samsung flip phone. I am hoping the sound quality is also much better. I hope they continue to make these, as she may need an other one in a couple of years. These batteries don’t last too many years. There is a market for the seniors in the world, who simply just want to make a phone call! Period. ❤

thats actually a good "upgrade" I really think that if Hmd want to get more attention they should make their "originals" a little bit more powerful while keeping the soul intact I mean "smartphones" born with keypad with slide /clamshell forms and they were amazing so why know keep relying on kaios but with more muscle? say 1.5 GB processor at least 1 or 2 ram depending of the model keep it feature rich and at least the screen size 3.2/3.5 and a res of at least 640x480 Im pretty sure that they are able to do that and more without breaking end user budget neither their own

I waa forced to buy my first ever non Nokia phone in February 2023 after my trusted old Nokia 7.2 took a dunk and died. I was not looking to buy a new phone cuz 5G is still some time away here in India. But Nokia India broke my heart by pricing the X30 at 48,999, which was bizarre to say the least. Even the Nokia G60 was overpriced at Rs 29,999. With a heavy heart, I picked up my first ever Motorola, the Moto Edge 30 for 22,500. I am happy with the phone but I miss the Nokia logo.

It’s great that you cover these phones, but was the XR21 not enough of an upgrade for you to cover in depth. If it wasn’t I don’t blame you. I was disappointed with it too.
It isn't that I'm not interesting in covering the XR21. Its just that the device hasn't been released here officially and I haven't had the chance to get my hands on one yet.
Hello there, I wanted to ask if the phone can sync (for example I add my Google account to it and then whatever contact I add or edit is shown on other devices, like Android) or can only import contacts (one time and then I have to edit them locally). Thanks.
I wonder if/when Nokia phones will do that. However, as I live in Finland and you have read my comment above, Nokia phones is now in a process of making a shift from feature phones to Android based phones. This would mean a price jump but would bring a range of various new models. It will take a year though before Android based Nokia phones will hit the market. To my knowledge Nokia phones will continue with feature phones in any case. Also I don't know the market situation as Nokia phones sell different phones in different markets.

I wonder how stable the screen is. In the past I always had Samsung C260 and C270 phones and those were pretty much indestructible. Once I even lost in on a road and a car ran over it with its wheel, but it was still working. However recently I bought a flip phone from an unknown brand and the screen of that phone did not even the pressure applied on it when I have it in my back pocket and sit on it. That's why I am now looking for a flip phone from a well known brand hoping that it will be stable. It is important for me that I can disable data completely, because I do not have a data plan and every megabyte without a data plan would be very expensive. Is there any easy way to turn off all data in the settings?
2780 is much better...Nokia should include Google play store, online payment app, wifi, hotspot and auto call recording in these phone....then everyone will threw away their regular smartphones and but these feature phones

I got mine for 9 months now. Served its purpose as my basic call and text phone for my international sim.
And the usbc charger comes in handy.
I own a 2660! I sold my iPhone to get it and I regret nothing!
Hope they sell this globally. This is better because you can access the web and maps.

I was thinking the same, X30 was simply overpriced. So I got the pixel 6a and never regretted it. Excellent call quality, camera, video and battery.

I wonder if/when Nokia phones will do that. However, as I live in Finland and you have read my comment above, Nokia phones is now in a process of making a shift from feature phones to Android based phones. This would mean a price jump but would bring a range of various new models. It will take a year though before Android based Nokia phones will hit the market. To my knowledge Nokia phones will continue with feature phones in any case. Also I don't know the market situation as Nokia phones sell different phones in different markets.

I wonder how stable the screen is. In the past I always had Samsung C260 and C270 phones and those were pretty much indestructible. Once I even lost in on a road and a car ran over it with its wheel, but it was still working. However recently I bought a flip phone from an unknown brand and the screen of that phone did not even the pressure applied on it when I have it in my back pocket and sit on it. That's why I am now looking for a flip phone from a well known brand hoping that it will be stable.
It is important for me that I can disable data completely, because I do not have a data plan and every megabyte without a data plan would be very expensive. Is there any easy way to turn off all data in the settings?

2780 is much better...Nokia should include Google play store, online payment app, wifi, hotspot and auto call recording in these phone....then everyone will threw away their regular smartphones and but these feature phones
