Beautifully explained Captain Brenner.....perfectly balanced mix of engineering knowledge and practical airman-ship experience...concise and to the point. Thank You!
Excellent, Captain! For us it is a great chance having these classes in english, since we can improve our english aviation vocabulary. This video also helped me to debunk a myth I had in my mind, where I was always taught (or said) that a jetliner can take-off using only one engine since 0 knots. I've been trying to do this in a A320 using Flight Simulator, however unsuccesfully so far. Thank you, Sir!
I think this procedure is not always necessary. There is a bonus when using old aircraft with their very old and tired engines. After starting the engines, while waiting patiently for the slow reaction and expansion of gases in the sixty-year-old engines, and until the rolling for takeof, there is plenty of time for the crew to enjoy a tasty meal for a few hours. Therefore, when returning to the aircraft, the levers can be directed in a single forward movement, dispensing with the intermediate stage. easy...LOL...but now, let's put this joke aside and let's take it seriously, congrats capit Brenner for the excellent video!
No, Matt. Airbus engines has the same behaviour. You must make a two step process otherwise you are risking having a huge thrust assimetry on the beginning of your takeoff roll. Cheers!

Now on an airbus, would it do that for you?
No, Matt. Airbus engines has the same behaviour. You must make a two step process otherwise you are risking having a huge thrust assimetry on the beginning of your takeoff roll.
Cheers!
Esse procedimento se aplica aos motores de airbus?
Sim, William. O processo pra aeronaves da Airbus é o mesmo!
