  • In this video, we introduce you to a dish that's more than just a soup; it's a complete meal. Our Turkish Mantı Soup is budget-friendly and simple to make, perfect for feeding a big family or impressing guests without stress. We've focused on creating a recipe that combines ease with flavor, ensuring anyone can make it. Watch as we guide you through each step, from prep to plate, and discover how satisfying cooking at home can be with this standout soup recipe.😍🙏🏻
    250 g frozen Mantı
    1 chicken breast, 320 g
    ½ teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon black pepper
    8 cloves of garlic
4 tablespoons pomegranate sour (4 tablespoons soy sauce + 1 tablespoon molasses or agave syrup + 1 lemon juice works great)
1.5 heaped tablespoon tomato paste (4 tablespoons tomato puree works great)
    1 tablespoon oregano
    2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon cayenne powder 3 tablespoons of olive oil
    1 onion, 60 g, chopped
    1 tablespoon butter
    1 tablespoon flour
    200 g boiled chickpeas
    9-10 sprigs of parsley
    1.5 liter water
Put the chicken breast to the food processor and blend until they become very small.
Take the chicken into a bowl. Add salt, blackpepper, tomato paste, pomegranate sour, olive oil, garlic, oregano and cayenne pepper and give it a mix. Put it in the fridge and rest it for about 1-2 hours.
Pour 2-3 tablespoon olive oil into the pan, add onion and cook them.
Put the marinated chicken into the pan and keep cooking.
When the chicken’s color turns a little bit, make a hole in the center and put butter to melt. When it melts add flour and sear until the flour turns to light brown.
Pour the water, when it starts to boil add the frozen mantı and boiled chickpeas. You can use any kind of pasta instead of mantı.
When mantıs are ready the dish is also ready to eat.

Yes, thank you for letting people know using frozen/pre-packaged food is completely NORMAL! As long as they have very few to no additives, there’s nothing more relieving than to come home from a long day of work and have the job half done for you. Beautiful and realistic recipe!

buy a supermarket packet of fresh onions, use the ones you need for your recipe, then dice the rest and freeze it, cheap and easy, similarly if you make a mirepoix/sofrito same thing chop too much and freeze the remainder. Saves on wasted carrots, onions, and celery.

    • @mandylavida

YES! I buy 2 heads of celery, bag of onions, a kilo of carrots, blitz in thr food processor and can it for a two or three month supply of sofrito.

If I may offer a piece of advice…if you put the recipes in English (thank you!!!) saying “broth” sounds better to the Anglo ear than watery…as in…”if you enjoy a hearty broth, this soup is wonderful”

“Looks like a soup, but is an incredible main course”.
Since when is a soup not a main course? I LOVE soups, and a hearty protein and/or legume packed soup can easily be a whole meal onto itself. :) I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just trying to promote soup! 🍲 Ramen, chicken soup, borscht, minestrone, kimchi and pork jjigae, and thousands of other soups from around the world are wonderful stand alone meals that can warm the soul for dinner. ^.^
Edit: Maybe there was something lost in translation here, and the editing in this video was very jerky and weird, not normal for this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING channel! Amazing recipe! I feared the pomegrenade molassed made everything too sour but instead it's a bit fruity and only has a bit of tang. It's amazing and super versatile - I veganized the recipe and used Korean dumplings because that's what was in my fridge and used lentils instead of chickpeas (thanks for the tip, Refika). Super tasty.

So simple and refreshing to not have to use a separate pan like one of my culinary school overlords insisted upon. Thank you! Old worn out habits are sometimes hard to break, when they are ingrained by squaking vultures preying from your shoulders. 😎

Hello my sweet Refika. What kind of veggies can be added to this soup. I like to cook from scratch so chopping some vegetables is not a problem.

This soup looks delicious! I am not sure my family could handle 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper. Is there a substitute I could use and still have great flavor?
