250 g frozen Mantı
1 chicken breast, 320 g
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
8 cloves of garlic
4 tablespoons pomegranate sour (4 tablespoons soy sauce + 1 tablespoon molasses or agave syrup + 1 lemon juice works great)
1.5 heaped tablespoon tomato paste (4 tablespoons tomato puree works great)
1 tablespoon oregano
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon cayenne powder 3 tablespoons of olive oil
1 onion, 60 g, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
200 g boiled chickpeas
9-10 sprigs of parsley
1.5 liter water
Put the chicken breast to the food processor and blend until they become very small.
Take the chicken into a bowl. Add salt, blackpepper, tomato paste, pomegranate sour, olive oil, garlic, oregano and cayenne pepper and give it a mix. Put it in the fridge and rest it for about 1-2 hours.
Pour 2-3 tablespoon olive oil into the pan, add onion and cook them.
Put the marinated chicken into the pan and keep cooking.
When the chicken’s color turns a little bit, make a hole in the center and put butter to melt. When it melts add flour and sear until the flour turns to light brown.
Pour the water, when it starts to boil add the frozen mantı and boiled chickpeas. You can use any kind of pasta instead of mantı.
When mantıs are ready the dish is also ready to eat.

It's like I want to leave eating and cooking what im used to and only have turkish cuisine because it's so very beautiful and different to anything els on the planet. I so love your channel and the work and time it must take to create wonderfull things. Thank you
Thank you for your kind comment. Best wishes.
I'm Iraqi Turkish.. try Iraqi food 😉 from north to south
Ditto!
Yes, thank you for letting people know using frozen/pre-packaged food is completely NORMAL! As long as they have very few to no additives, there’s nothing more relieving than to come home from a long day of work and have the job half done for you. Beautiful and realistic recipe!
New Subscriber, You are Amazing! Thank you for showing us Your Beautiful Talent. Sharing your short cuts. 🙏 🇺🇸 😊
Here in Finland it is cold and windy and snowing today - this is just the kind of food I love to make on such days! Thank you!
My friend has just gone home to Finland to visit her family and jump into ice holes (WHY) while I water her garden in an unseasonal 25 degres!
Yum. I'll try this with mushrooms instead of chicken. Thank you!
buy a supermarket packet of fresh onions, use the ones you need for your recipe, then dice the rest and freeze it, cheap and easy, similarly if you make a mirepoix/sofrito same thing chop too much and freeze the remainder. Saves on wasted carrots, onions, and celery.
YES! I buy 2 heads of celery, bag of onions, a kilo of carrots, blitz in thr food processor and can it for a two or three month supply of sofrito.
The method of seasoning the chicken can be used in so many other recipes, thank you! And the soup looks delicious!
Why not, you can use it. Thank you very much. 🙏🏻
Ramadhan Mubarak from Zanzibar Island Tanzania 🇹🇿 ❤❤❤ love you guys
The ease of this recipe is encouraging to try, it looks like comfort food which is a plus, thank you Refika and team 🌹💞
I will veganize this. Looks great!
I watch from NW Lower Michigan USA. Love your recipes and your personality. I will be adding your onion dolmas to my Easter feast next Sunday! Thank you.
Wow, that looks so rich and full of flavour. Bravo !
This is comfort food! Looks like beef, but tastes like chicken😄🐔 Thank you for the recipe
If you make vegan taco meat - mushrooms and walnuts pounded together until they bind - this would be awesome!
Soups are often a main course in my house, always delicious. Pomegranate syrup isn't in my area, thank you for the substitutes.
And we are lucky to have you ❤
You are very valuable to me. Thank you.
@@Refika 😘
I love hearty soups & chick peas. This one is so different to me that I can’t wait to try it.
Looks good! A clarification: there's no such thing as Chai tea. Chai itself means tea. Even in Turkish, right? Chai tea would mean Tea Tea. 😅
This recipe looks both economical and super tasty! It has bold, Turkish flavor but doesn't take any time all.
Also, I want to say, never apologize for your English. Your English is miles ahead of my Turkish, and is always intelligible sans subtitles. Keep up the amazing videos! I'll keep (attempting) to make delicious, Turkish food. Ramadan mubarak!
Is it too spicy? 1 tablespoon cayenne powder sounds like too much! Thinking of making this for my family. They're okay with a little heat but this might be too much
Love ur recipe.
All the best.
Ur kitchen widow sunlight full of positive energy.
Take care darling.
Thank you so much for this recipe, believe it or not that will be dinner tonight, cold and lots of rain here in Northern Va.

My first time seeing your video!!! I LOVE THIS RECIPE! I’ve just started eaten vegan…so I’ll have to change it a bit but I LOVE the idea of using Pom molasses to add depth of flavor and tartness and the chickpeas look amazing in a soup!
If I may offer a piece of advice…if you put the recipes in English (thank you!!!) saying “broth” sounds better to the Anglo ear than watery…as in…”if you enjoy a hearty broth, this soup is wonderful”
Teşekkur! John in California
Ok Ok
This isn't fair
Definitely it's
a stratagem to convert
all of us in to Turkish food addict
No way out just need more turk dishes... NOW ...😉

Rafika I love love that you can do these recipes this fast, maybe someday I can. .but do you have slow versions as well so I can see more detail in what you are doing? LOVE YA'LL AND WHAT YOU DO!
Oh ps! I bet this could be made with cherries ! SO it’s settled… I’ll make it with cherries for my very picky daughter-mine (lol).. for her #40 BDay! I’ve been ALL over the net searching for a new cherrie recipe that will calm her stress level Re; “Fattening Mom!”… concerns lol yet is deelish! (I know I’ve found it! “ and I thank you….❤
“Looks like a soup, but is an incredible main course”.
Since when is a soup not a main course? I LOVE soups, and a hearty protein and/or legume packed soup can easily be a whole meal onto itself. :) I’m not trying to be negative, I’m just trying to promote soup! 🍲 Ramen, chicken soup, borscht, minestrone, kimchi and pork jjigae, and thousands of other soups from around the world are wonderful stand alone meals that can warm the soul for dinner. ^.^
Edit: Maybe there was something lost in translation here, and the editing in this video was very jerky and weird, not normal for this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING channel! Much love to Refika and her crew! ❤❤❤ I have made several recipes from this channel and they have been truly delicious! I look forward to many more delectable foods to stuff in my face! 😁
Love your enthusiasm. Also, I think it's great when you alternatives
Looks like another delicious recipe from Refika! xo from Canada!
Dearest Refika, I simply adore your Turkish recipes. And here comes a humble but sincere plea ... would you be so kind as to share some inspirations for packed lunch ... I love preparing my lunch but here is the twist ... something that will hold its nice "shape" after being carried to work and of course with strong Turkish zing ;-) Hope you can make such a video for us .... And also what would you do with an insane amount of parsley .... ??
Amazing recipe! I feared the pomegrenade molassed made everything too sour but instead it's a bit fruity and only has a bit of tang. It's amazing and super versatile - I veganized the recipe and used Korean dumplings because that's what was in my fridge and used lentils instead of chickpeas (thanks for the tip, Refika). Super tasty.
Hello Refika and team! Were those Turkish dumplings stuffed with a filling when you buy them in the store? I look forward to your videos each Saturday! 💕

Canim, lütfen biraz nefes alarak konuş, olmaz mi ❤
I'm looking forward to try this, I even have all the ingredients except pomegranate sour, but the alternate ones. I always enjoy your video's, Thank you and all that make them possible🙂💞
Hello Refika,
This soup looks so so delicious & scrumptious...
1 question can I use pomegranate dried seeds instead ?
Oh I love this idea!!! And I love the idea of using the occasional frozen shortcut. Yes, I know how to dice an onion. But there are just some nights...
And I'm thinking frozen tortellini for the pasta!
Has she given the music of 'Ishq Kinara tu tha yara' by Coke Studio Pakistan in the starting? Love that song collaboration between Turkish and Pakistani singers.
This looks wonderful. I’m going to make it vegetarian, by leaving out the chicken and adding in soy curls.
Refika, I will be making little dumplings (spinners) to substitute for Malta and my regular Jamaican molasses. I cannot find them here in Jamaica
I love soups and I love easy, quick to prepare dishes. Will definitely make this soup! Thank you
Looks great! Are people really in such a rush they need to have dinner ready in less than 15 minutes? Take deep breaths, people. :) Another 1 minute for the fresh cut onion would seem worth it. Anyway, thanks Refika! Looks delish!
This recipe is easy enough and I’m sure it’s delicious you are an amazing cook and I have enjoyed watching you videos and tried some recipes. They are always very good you and your crew are very amazing to watch. Be safe and God bless you..🐞🦬🐢🪶
Now I’m wondering where I can get those frozen Manti where I live. What a time saver! Thanks for the substitution ideas for ingredients that may not be easily found in some places.
You had me at "molasses". Pomegranate molasses is an obsession of mine. And THEN the simple revelation that the roux can be made in a "bird nest". So simple and refreshing to not have to use a separate pan like one of my culinary school overlords insisted upon. Thank you! Old worn out habits are sometimes hard to break, when they are ingrained by squaking vultures preying from your shoulders. 😎
I made this and I love it (I did add a bunch of bullion powder because I like things salty). I'll be making it again! It's so weird because it looks like beef!
Is this very spicy with 1 tablespoon of cayenne? It looks amazing and will give it a go. Thanks.
Delicious! I wonder how successful it would be to replace the chicken with extra-firm tofu?
I LOVE your videos. It is always like my sister tells me, what to do ♥ Greetings from Prague
Made this tonight and it was a great and comforting soup. Luckely found the Manti at our Turkish grocery store.
Looks delightful...turkish dramas made me watch this 😅
This recipe looks amazing I want to make this now.I love your cooking channel ❤
Could you please make a turkish version of the "Gigi Hadid pasta"? I would love your twist on it🙏
I like to look out important dates for different countries, then cook that countries food for my husband and friends. What would be the best Turkish date for this? This looks like a great dush to cook for some hungry people willing to try my interpretations! (And probably insulting nations worldwide, but hey!)
I love your channel so much. The food is always amazing and you are so good at instructions. I feel like you're in my kitchen with me. Thank you chef!
This looks DELICIOUS 😋. I can't wait to make it.
Hello my sweet Refika. What kind of veggies can be added to this soup. I like to cook from scratch so chopping some vegetables is not a problem.
This soup looks delicious! I am not sure my family could handle 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper. Is there a substitute I could use and still have great flavor?
Thank you, Refika and team! ❤
