Hi Refika! Thank you for your amazing recipes. I'm Greek living in Scotland and love Turkish food since it's very close to greek food and it reminds me of home. The best lahmacun I had was in Berlin , where some Turkish grandmas were cooking it on some kind of spherical oven. I've never had a lahmacun in Turkey although I've been many times. I saw this video many years ago. Didn't have access to ground lamb back then, but I found some at Aldi recently. Had to google "raw meat spread on flatbread" to find this, but we're back!! I'm making lahmacun this weekend, I can't wait.
Once again, my father comes to my mind. I have tried lahmacun recipes I've found on the internet and they were all missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it. @@yuripuri639 doesnt matter ? Omani people dont eat the same way lebanese arabs do, now would you say that this makes for example hummus not a arabic dish ? That would be a ridiculous statement
@@mertroll1 Eating the same is one thing: not cooking it at all because it's not part of your cuisine is another. Turks only came into contact with most of the dishes they see as Turkish after they migrated westwards. They don't deny it so why are you? Turks proudly say it was through the Ottoman empire that much of the food they eat became part of their national cuisines.
@@yuripuri639 But thats plain WRONG, you tell that story like the turks werent the primary culture group of the ottoman empire. The ottoman empire were primarily turks, its state language was ottoman turkish, so what are you getting at Lahmacun was always part of turkish cuisine and your little rant wont change that fact, and if you want to get reaaaally technical, one could make the case that lahmacun wasnt even a arabic invention, rather an assyrian one. So i dont know what you are getting at, everything you said is wrong
@@mertroll1 I'm right. Your rant isn't even an argument against the facts stated by me. It's just demagogy. No Turk, not one, that's singular, individual, solo homo Sapien in central Asia. The proto-(real)-turk says lahmacun is a Turkish dish. Only the settlers in the western parts. So, please do yourself a favour, and get lost.

So... I have wanted to try turkish Pizza since forever. I was discussing it in a forum unrelated to food, and learned Turkish Pizza is really called Lahmacun. Then the next day you dropped this video!
I have been subscribing here in Oregon for maybe 2 or 3 months.
This was the first meal of yours I have made. It was amazing. Thank you for showing this technique for making in my home! I even made my own dough! I could not get as thin as yours but was also my first attempt.
Cheers!
You Rock Dear🤟! I’m from Bulgaristan, and i used to have a turkish restaurant next to my work - they had a wood oven and baked lachmajun, pide and tava with minched beef. You inspires a lot, keep rocking. I’m watching you also on 24 kitchen. I was thinking that you have to put isot and you put in in the next moment! Just for an idea for future - kokoreci, tava djiger, ci kofte...
I'm so glad the youtube algorithm suggested you again, so I could refind this awesome channel ^_^
I wish to visit beautiful Turkey one day and live amongst the people who can teach me these great food and history. Türkiye büyük bir millet ve Güney Afrika tarafından çok saygı görüyor. Aşk ve barış. 🇿🇦
I'll save it for next time I come :)
Hadi bakalım. Gece vakti düşürdün aklımıza lahmacunu. 😃 Yürüdük, 100 Gr verdik diye seviniyorduk. 😑
You are the type of person, to be the reason behind why an introvert teenager would love to attend family functions. Joyful, Caring, Loving, Enjoying. You are so sweet. Love from India......... And when you come to India, pleaase visit Kerala. Always WELCOME

I’ve tried a few of your recipes , always good and fresh. I’m trying this one today. Fingers crossed
OMG I like everything in this video .. but the crunching sound of the crust is my favorite part. as always I keep falling in love with Turkish cuisine. 😍😍🤗🤗
I’ve so wanted to travel to Turkey when I retired which happened to be the very day the “lockdown” happened here so no travel for me at this point, but ... The positive note that’s come out of this is you! You post, I get a sudden craving for what you’ve made and run to the kitchen to replicate it. I just did a huge market haul and did not pick up lamb, but will definitely get some in the next few days so I can make this. I think it will become a regular in my house.
Omg I have to try this soon! I’ve never had any Turkish food, and these look amazing 💕 I’m so glad I found your channel! Lots of love from Montreal, Canada!

Love you. Love your ways .Love your team
Living in Montreal Canada a multi cultural city where an effervescent mix of gastronomic experience is a live and well. Several decades ago I had the good fortune of discovering Lahmacun (here call Lahmajoun) from a small Lahmacun bakery using traditional wood oven .Where it contribute in opening my curiosity and appreciation of different foods cultures Fifty years later after having travel the world as a Tv Editor where I experience different gastronomic cultures I still remember that moment the tastes the discovery I've made while eating Lahmacun for the first time .Several months ago I discover you your channel your team with appreciation Guess what you have all that it takes to open the desire of discovering experimenting enjoying food at its best. I can only wish you the best and hope you enjoy every moment .Sincerely
Yagiz looks like a younger version of Seker Aga, the chef from Muhtesem Yuzil. Gotta love a man who makes good tomato sauce. Everything looks great, it must taste divine.
Yes yes yes yes yes!!! Lahmacun and ayran are the food of my childhood (I'm Romanian). There is no good lahmacun on France. Thank you for the recepie!
When travel restrictions are lifted, I'm coming to Turkey. Love from India 😘 I've always wanted to visit but now I want to go even more.
Also, its always interesting to see the similarities of ingredients and flavors between Indian and Turkish food.
Love your Lahmajun...especially the tortilla idea, I was hoping you were going to show us alternatives....you did...you are great!!!!!!
Eating this right now in Belgium and purchased the Lamachun out of my favorite Turkish store today. This is soooo addictive!!
Been waiting for these! We used to eat them back in the refugee camp, my dad would travel to Istanbul just for these! They are delicious!
which refugee camp?
I grabbed this video in the air like a starving dog 😋
Love the comment 😘😘😘

Refika just trademark refikatrick it'll come in handy when you write a book!
Come over to India.
I'll give up my room for you! Lol
I don't know why people are asking for vegeterian version of everything. Traditional food is traditional food, it is good just the way it is. There are millions of vegeterian meal recipes out there, why ruin the original?🙄
I saw this video many years ago. Didn't have access to ground lamb back then, but I found some at Aldi recently. Had to google "raw meat spread on flatbread" to find this, but we're back!! I'm making lahmacun this weekend, I can't wait.
Oh my goodness... I made these and they were so good! Thank you for your recipe! 😍
Once again, my father comes to my mind. I have tried lahmacun recipes I've found on the internet and they were all missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it. You brought me back to my youth and my father making lahmacun and sitting eating and enjoying Turkish music and Raki. You always put that bit of love and just the right ingredients to authentic Turkish food. All my love and gratefulness.
Absolutely blown away by how charismatic Refika is. One of the foods I miss the most is Lahmacun. And now I can make my own! Best day ever!
Omy gosh, you are a revelation to find!! Thank you.
You should add a warning here: After tasting this self made dish you will never ever again eat those factory made and heated up in micorwave thing in the snackbars again-
Thank you for all your great recipes. My family loves Turkish food and you have made me a star cook. Lots of love from UK England
My favourite food! I was wondering when you'll make a video about it. Great content as usual. Love your videos!
As a Turkish girl living in US, your videos allow me to share my culture with my foreign friends! So glad to see your videos in English now! Tesekkurler and keep the recipes coming :)
I haven't seen any Turk in central Asia make lahmacun before. It's more of an Arab middle-eastern dish which Ottoman Turks came into contact with.
Ne güzel yaaaaa I miss Türkiye so much!!
Superb. Lovely recipe u made dear friend. I enjoyed always n learn from u. Thank you so much for sharing. Watched n subscribed your channel friend. Stay connected new friend. Good wishes from Zoeya Kitchen
We had this last night at a restaurant called Istanbul - in Durban. It was amazing! Thank you!
Big like for you , especially after seeing the real Syrian flag
Thank you, much love
I married a Palestinian 25 years ago and my taste buds have never been happier! Lahmacun is fantastic and I totally agree, must be tried before you die.
Love all your recipes, some of them make me think of my husband's Tata's food. Wish you well❤️
Thanks for sharing, adding onions and lemon and parsley is just like giving life to food which in Pakistan every moms favourite and we do love it.. i would definitely try this atleast😍
The Turkish govt should make you Minister of Tourism. The number of people, including myself, that want a seat at your dining table, if only 10% of your adoring subscribers, would be 37,100 tourists that came to Turkey specifically for you.
If you don't already hold food tours of Turkey, perhaps you should consider?
Bahar's off camera prompting for more information, if scripted or spontaneous is perfect, and your crew, fabulous celebration of life, I Loved the dancing in the intro to this video. Refika you are the Kitchen Queen!
