I'm guy from Macedonia! Living in Bitola (Monastir in Turkish) as I love your warm dishes, my heart is worm, seeing that you honor the great Mustafa Kemal. He finish school in my home town! Our Macedonian revolutionaries and young Turks were very close friends! Ataturk was one of the greatest politicians in XX century. Let there be peace in your home Refika, and in the whole world. “His work with intelligent and peaceful methods will mark traces in the history of mankind.” - Albert Lebrun / President of France
Amazing that you are sharing this recipe. This pasta dish is cooked all across Azerbaijan and we call it “Khangel”. There are versions with meat, chicken or potatoes + caramelized onions. Usually topped with garlicky yoghurt and melted butter when served. There is also a special dry aged yoghurt topping which is called “Gurut” which can be used instead of yoghurt in some regions of Azerbaijan and in Georgia. This is our comfort food for winter and is usually made on Sundays for big family lunches.
Meat and dairy cause colon cancer and heart disease and diabetes and comes from agritortured gmo sentient baby animals. Just eat fresh fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds and berries and melons and lentils and heal yourself and the planet
Refika, I really love your vegetarian ideas, and ideas to make healthy food that doesn't cost a lot of money. You, Barak and your team are a treasure to the world. Thank you.
Refika, I could watch you all day every day! Love your energy, vibes and food! Have my weekend planned making some Turkish food in Florida. Much love to you and your team. ❤
Am Greek from Cyprus Turkish food for me is second nature I grew up with many Turkish dishes mother n grandmother used to cook I love shish Kofte Koupes but the Most Ayran made with Real Goat ewe Yogurt mint salt and water the Real Drink of Heaven, thanks for your videos lady
I love these dishes because they remind me of the food I grew up with. We were not wealthy so my Mom had to get creative with her dishes to feed our family. We ate a lot of beans BUT in really tasty ways. ❤
Refika, your recipes are such an inspiration and have influenced me so much over the last few months, I have reduced my meat consumption in favour of beans/lentils, willingly…. I’m still trying to recover from the shock!!!! However, even at 65 I am still willing to learn and try! This recipe made my mouth water as I watched, as others have done, and it will be on my recipe plan for the coming month. Thank you all sooooo much!!! You all brighten my day with your videos xxx
What a wonderful, simple dish. The people in southwestern Germany know a similar dish with homemade noodles (Spätzle) and lentils. They eat it with sausage . But the idea is similar, it is cheap. I do not regularly watch but when I do it I enjoy it very much. Jutta from northern Germany 👍
This is my idea of comfort food! I love yogurt, but generally only eat it at breakfast time. I’ll have to expand my uses of it. Thank you for always spreading the message of peace. ☮️💟
I love manti! I sauté the garlic just 30-60 seconds to take the “raw effects of garlic”, indigestion. Wonderful dish! Happy 100th anniversary of Republic Of Türkiye!
That is definitely a great combination of flavors and a great way to eat lentils. I cannot wait to try this recipe. Actually that dish, along with some greens, would be amazing.
Loved the start of this video! You have the biggest soul, Refika, always thinking of others! So right, it is so unfair when children suffer/ die because of the grownups! Your food is delicious! You are the whole package.❤❤❤
I just had this for dinner and OMG, it was so delicious! I had to make a couple of changes to fit my diet (Carnivore pasta, lupin beans instead of split peas and coconut yogurt instead of dairy and ghee instead of butter). The recipe is very adaptable. The caramelized onions, garlic yogurt sauce and spicy butter are what make this dish so amazing just like Refika and all of her team! Please keep the affordable and easy meals coming! Thoughts and prayers to you all!
Yum, Refika & team, I want this now this looks soooo yummy. Thumbs up Borak, you look 10 years (at least) younger, Cheers to all of your health ♥Peace at home and peace to the world ♥
Thnx for sharing, I love how you use familiar ingredients and put a twist on it, so I don't have to eat lentils the same way all the time. Blessings from Trinidad
This looks great! I agree with everyone who says we love your energy - not over the top and welcoming. Even if this takes 30 minutes for one person to make, that’s still terrific 😁❤️
This looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing. Keep the recipes coming and anything you would like to share about your life in Turkey. I love watching you and your crew.
It looks so appetizing, although I just have had lunch. Love, love, love Middle East cuisine. It is so delicious yet healthy. It doesn't get better!!!❤
They gave it this name in the city where I born in Turkey. But there are no lentils on it and it is shaped more like ravioli and stuffed with potatoes. This situation is also beautiful. Well done Refika.
I made it today with minced meat from your other recipe and it was AMAZING! I wish I made more, even my kids said its delicious. The yoghurt takes it to another level. Thank you!
OMG! I just made this a few minutes ago. I only had Korean pepper powder but it worked out really well. I have to admit that I was not expecting this dish to be very flavourful but I was 💯% wrong! I’ll be making this again! Thanks so much Refika for sharing so many delightful dishes of Türkiye. What I really appreciate is that you have put so much thought in your recipes for people with food insecurities and as well as sustainability. This is something that so much of us take for granted. Love you and your crew. I always look forward to your latest videos ❤❤
What a wonderful recipe. Love it. All of you are so so easy to watch. Refika lovely natural person, Bahar is a sweet one too, and that baby face of Burak ! Me ❤ him too
Refika you and Borek always make my heart happy you make me laugh and always good recipes. So very happy I found you about two years ago. Much love be safe !🦬🐞🐢🪶
Wow, as an American Mexican who dated a Turkish boy and fell in love the the cuisine. I appreciate this channel!! Totally going to make all these . Save money and eat my OWN delish dishes ❤❤❤
Refika and team, I aways look forward to your new videos and the recipes. Yes, I do not eat a lot of yogurt but you have convinced me to try - especially with garlic 😊 You are all so happy and that transforms to the viewers. Thank you for all you do for humanity. 🙏
Salam, just a tip : we all use a lot of onions in our cooking . Try what I discovered, cook sliced onions in a dry pan ,turning it often, it cooks quickly, add oil ( you will need less amount) when they turn golden on the corners , this way you will save time & reduce the amount of oil in the dish. Hope it helps.
Ooohhh, I haven’t had pasta in months. Since the last time I made your manti. 🤣 I can’t wait to make this tomorrow. As always thank you both for the inspiration and may I say you all look fabulous!
This looks like a meal my grandmother called “lap lap”. She didn’t add the lentils. Together with manti, two of my favourite Turkish pasta dishes and I think the yogurt and chilli oil/ butter are what make the meal. Thanks for sharing another great recipe 😊
I love Refika Hanim's recipes. Her clips are delightful. I love Turkish food. Turkiye is my favorite country. I think the background music is "Yeni Bir Gulnihal". Salam from Pakistan Guzel Refika Hanim ❤
I love watching your videos as they are so inspiring to me. I made this for my family and it is a new favorite. It is warm, nourishing, comforting and budget friendly.
It was a lot of fun watching you two cook as a team and even more fun that you didn't *quite* make the time limit - that felt realistic to me! 😅 15 minutes is still a speedy dinner! This looks gorgeous. We are vegetarian and love it when you post vegetarian recipes. Thank you 😊
Refika, I just made this. It took me a bit longer than you, but it wasn't difficult either. I made some adjustments: I cooked my lentils in chicken stock because I had it around, and I added mint and dill to my yoghurt sauce. My garlic cloves were large, and it came out very garlic forward, but really delicious and satisfying. So nice to add another simple and flavorful dish to the repertoire
Thank you Refika, Burak, Behar and your team for this fantastic recipe. A great, nutritious and affordable meal. Warming now that the weather is cooling. Thoughts and prayers to those suffering due to oppression ❤💙💜👵🏴🌹🌹🌹
here we go again… your average north european needs to claim how ‘opressed’ people are here, anytime they see anything related to turkey or turkish people, and even a cooking channel is not exempt.
because of you and your team, i so much enjoy vegetarian and turkish cuisines. i love your show,! Barak, you look so amazing. keep up the good work, everyone. thank you for all your hard work!
i like lentils. this is an exciting dish to present on the table because it's so unique, a different way of eating lentils (different from lentil soup). thank you for your thoughts of rising cost of living and making affordable meals
I look forward to making this meal - in about 25 minutes 😉 so I can get the dough right. I’m thinking 10 might be too fast for me. The price of this dish is perfect for us all. Thank you.

Is "Gurut" like Iranian "Kashk"? 🥰
@@olusha most likely. It's strained and dry aged yoghurt. In caucasus and central Asia it's known as "qurut" or "kurut".
Yummy! A different flavour @@Fidosya
