Devilfish was THE British poker player for many years, he was probably the only British poker player that Americans knew of for a while there.
He was one of the main cast of characters during the heyday of televised poker.
He was the big draw on Late Night Poker, a show which played a huge part in the popularity of poker in the UK.
He was a bit of a shady guy, but he was always there on the scene, entertaining us all.
The first time I ever heard of the WSOP was the year Scotty Nguyen won it, and there was a British documentary about it and the UK poker scene. The person who the documentary followed into this world was none other than a jeweller by the name of Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliot.
He deserved it.

Yeap, Antonio Esfandiari is solid poker player. He is good for poker. I learned a lot from him and his style of play from you tube. It did help me master my own poker game. Hope to sit with him on final table soon.
sup Doug,I wanted to ask you,about full tilt,if you know why stars,replace that software,and put their own . I mean this was the best place to play poker,and watch high stakes ..doesn't make any sense to me to..playing on ftp was much more enjoyable than now playing on stars,and I liked the PLO6 game and rush holdem

Can I please get some advice from anyone...In my last local live tournament I doubled my stack early but was involved in 2 hands that left me packing.
1st) Blinds were 100/200/25, in the BB I had A❤️J♠️, I raised to 800 after 3 players limped in, the Btn and SB called my raise. Flop- 5❤️10♠️J❤️ SB checked, I bet 1000, Btn went All in for 3700, SB with 6000 tanked for 2 min then called the 3700. I had over 12000 left so after considering the Top pair/top kicker, Nut flush draw and nut straight draw, I went all in to possibly get the other guy off a draw he may had had. He called. SB showed 5•5 for a set, Btn showed Q•Q for the over pair. I lost to both players which dwindled my stack minorly. Was this a profitable play/the correct play?
2nd) Blinds were 200/400/50, in the BB with 6200 chips, I had J♠️Q♠️, I called a 1200 raise from the Btn and the SB called as well. Flop- 5♠️9♠️10❤️SB checked, I bet 1000, Btn folded, SB called. Turn- 5❤️, SB bets 2000, I call.River- J♣️, SB bets 2000, I'm left with 2000 in chips, I decide to call. I lose to Trip 5's Was this a profitable play/correct play?

Khalil Trumbull the AJ hand seems like you couldn't get away from given the stack sizes.
The QJ hand I would have probably checked the flop hoping to check raise all in against the button. If I were to lead out it would be with all of my chips, maximizing fold equity.

Only real error I see is too small rep flop raise in first hand. But QQ wasn't going anywhere to didn't matter. But with three limpers if you gonna raise needs to be bigger, but also its very common that,any limpers usually one has a monster.

I think Mori has done more for the game of poker than almost any one player. Would have liked to see him over Ulliott, but it depends how you look at it. Ultimately there just aren't enough spots for everyone who has a valid claim

Thor Hansen should have his own wing in the hall of fame. What he's done to promote poker - especially in Scandinavia - is unprecedented. First Norwegian to make it in Vegas. Even my dad, who hasn't played a single hand of poker knows about Thor Hansen. UInfortunately.. Thor is also terminally ill and I'd love for him to see the day he gets voted in. As Hellmuth would say; He's pretty much the Doyle Brunson of Northern Europe.

Couldn't agree more with you on the CF/POY thing. It's out of your control (unless you're in the running for it) so there's no reason to get upset by him winning it. Does it suck that someone so scummy could come back after taking 5 years off from the game and in his 2nd summer "crush" it enough to win? Yeah it does. Thor Hansen should be picked, he ia the Godfather of Poker in Norway, and also have a bracelet or maybe 2? He is a very likeable person. Since poker is starting to get legal in Norway it would be nice for the community in Norway if he got picked. He also played in the legendary high stakes cashgames at Larry Flynts house.
