- Doug continues for another round of high stakes stories. There really haven't been very many opponents to have gotten the best of him, but Doug recount his experiences some of the tougher end-bosses in the heads up streets. These include Alex Millar (Kanu), Isaac Haxton, and perhaps the smartest poker player ever: Ben Sulsky (Sauce123).

Man, i would pay to hear more stories like this ;) Thanx
Doug Polk Poker talking about how great you are this whole video hahahahahaha
Doug Polk Poker nice story doug
The challenge finally has meaning! Keep these coming, please!
So doug you thought me the importance of balancing my ranges. Should I balance my folding ranges too? Sometimes just fold AA KK preflop to balance my range out?
These stories are my favorite poker related content on RUclips
Agreed. DOug cAN weave a story too.
If you watch him on twitch there's so many more stories
Agreed this was absolutely tremendous
These have been the best videos you have ever put out
MORE STORIES ARE BETTER
YES! jUST LIKE THE MORE RAKE! XD
Facts.
The fact that this is 4 years old but still holds current entertainment and value is crazy…
Doug bring us more content!
it was a 4 year old story when it came out too 😅
Doug have you ever considered calling these segments "Polker Stories" ?
This is honestly my kind of humor.
not really humor just a neat play on words
the play on words is not the joke
Haven't checked his videos for like 8 months and I just realized how I missed the have you considered comments from my life
Polker After Dark
These Epic Stories from your hoghstakes online days are amazing! Please keep them up... Sooo interesting 🙏
JackinWhite We might have to wait for the Doug Polk biopic
This is why Polk is my favorite player. He is humble enough to admit when he was beat or worse than another player. Polk believes in himself and his ability to improve and win against these awesome players. Great content, Doug is real
he was only been humble so that the brag would be bigger in the end when he beat the guy. thats like the reverse blocker of humbitality lol
UrGetinTaxed are you trying to say he isn't a good player??? I'd like to see your lifetime stats compared to his
i don't think that's what he was trying to say
kunuk1 just being a troll
Wtf? Did we watch the same video? He was fucking bragging about beating the most intelligent guys in poker. He has his ass so far up his ass. But we love him, so, fuck it.
and that is the guy Negreanu thought it would be a good idea to play heads up
Hahaha, I came here to comment the same thing
Doug won 1.2 million from him lmao
Oh my god I could listen to Doug stories forever
This is genuinely the best poker video I have ever seen . Loved the stories and getting an insight into what makes someone reach the top. Thanks for this.
Hard work beats talent
Too bad I'm neither talented nor hard-working. I'm lazy as fuck and can't help it...
If talent doesn't work hard*
Trias00 need to push yourself bro
That’s why Naruto beat Sasuke
It's not that easy. Having the motivation, stamina, energy to work as hard as Doug is a gift no less than a natural talent for poker.
These are really really interesting Doug, hope you do more of this type of content, it's amazing
One of my favorite videos on RUclips not even just bc of poker relation, but rather competition and how to approach things in life - figuring stuff out and not giving up
I agree with many below. This was a very good, well told story and for a 12 minute video, it sure packs a lot of content and feels like a half hour worth of vlog.
This is the best video you even did. Period.
I was at the top of another thing once, I remember coming up and the process of getting there. Our stories and ah ha moments on the way up are similar. What a great feeling.
Hard to find that opportunity again in life.
Doug this is my 2nd comment on RUclips in years and I just have to say these high stakes stories from back in the day are incredible, please do more it's brilliant to listen to and I have to say it's more than a bit inspiring
really digging this style of video, playing for the challenge and telling old war stories.
awesome.
I've now watched around 25 Polk videos now-- and I found this one to be the most valuable. The quality of the monologue was genuine and unscripted-- which resonates with the game of Poker itself.
Keep em coming, cant wait for the next story!
These last 2 videos are the best thing ever on your channel. Love to hear more stories from those days.
Interesting consept, I really love these new vids. Keep ’em coming Doug!
Having railed some of those matches it was fascinating to listen to this to the point I didn't want it to end.
This was a truly epic tale, told beautifully and hilariously.
These stories make for such strong videos. Love them.
When Doug tells these stories I stop everything I’m doing to listen, thx for sharing
Hi Doug. Well done for getting here, and for being able to tell your story. I think this kind of platform and narrative can win you a lot in life, in terms of your platform and how influential your voice is in the game. Good luck against Negreanu
Watched it like 5 times, still gets me fired up.Thnx dude
Damn, really makes you appreciate all the hard work doug has put in.
This is gold, thanks for sharing!
so good, maybe structure these into some kind of timeline series of you coming up through the ranks?
Loved the story time , thanks for sharing
doug there was a daniel negreanu ad for masterclass at the beggining of the video you should do something about that...
Something like half of that is paid to me, which will come in handy because billboards dont pay for themselves
fuck yeah doug making his own rake off daniel your a goddamn mastermind, just watched you cash first for 400$ yeah buddy! keep up the great streams learning a lot and thanks for the reply you crack me up everytiimee i watch you
Cool story, Vanessa.

Love this type of content. So cool!
Very inspiring. Thanks for the video Doug
I don't think people realize how much information about strategy Doug is giving us in this video. This opened my eyes, Thank you!

One of my favorite videos. Thank you 👍
Great video, Doug - really enjoyed this one.

please make more of these it's actually absurdly entertaining
Loving the new vids bruh. Keep them coming
Do more of this doug. Awesome to hear.
5:39 HA I KNEW IT! AN EARLY DREAM MACHINE! There was so much speculation at the time :)
This story is particularly interesting, because I had the opportunity to play against Sauce a few yrs ago when i was in Vegas. At the time i didn't know who he was, but i was introduced to him, by his friends, when he sat down. Since he was sitting right across from me, and we were playing 4 handed most of the time ,I had the chance to talk to him, and ask him a lot of questions (cool guy...even though the cards were not going well for him,at the time, and he lost 38k, when we played).
Can you go into detail about sauce's strat during the match? I think it'd be super interesting to hear about it
firefight33 To put it simply: Ben didn't fold enough, and Doug capitalized on that by focusing on getting value from his hands, like a boss. He stated somewhere that he didn't bluff as much as he normally would.
Andi f you want a full on in depth knowledge base about Sauce, I think that much like Doug, you would have to put the money on the line to find out first hand.
Could listen for hours to your stories man, please more!
literally the best poker content you've posted
The editing of this video is brilliant.
The video was already gonna be amazing cause I was eating these Cheez-It Snack Mix classic snacks, but damn, incredible video
I miss the old days. Back when Spirit Rock was owning everyone. And when you could run up $5 to $5k in a day with a little bit of luck. Now your lucky to not go broke on 1/2 cent
This format is great! Streaming poker while saying cool stories. Moar!
One of your best vids Doug, loved it !
Enjoying these videos Doug!!
amazing viedo! thank you very much
Read about the chess battles of Alexander Alekhine and Jose Casablanca.
Jose was born perfect but Alex evolved beyond him.
Doug, if you will write a book about your development as a poker player - i will definetly will buy it, even if will finish my poker
career before that. It always exciting to hear/read about so pasionated people.
This is the best- and most inspirational - poker video on youtube.
awesome stories, would love to hear more.
Can’t get enough of this stuff👍🏻

This is my favorite video for a while
This was really good game ever., And it is my first Time I saw this video Doug. 😁
These story vids are class
When you stick to your roots, your videos are enjoyable. Interesting topic.
Some of your best content :)
Hey doug I really enjoy "story time with papa Polk" ... Is this going to be an ongoing series?
love the stories!
wow, honestly, respect to Kanu for putting ego aside and making an incredibly disciplined decision to quit another reg exactly when he realized the other reg was no longer a spot. MOST players, including some of the best in the world, would not have had so much discipline.
Love these story vids
Love these stories sir dougie
Need more epic stories. Last 2 videos were amazing
@ 2:15 Epic Slow Roll Fold with 95s Doug! Way to balance your pre tank range! ;)
Ya very interesting stuff keep it coming
I remember this really well. it was like....2013....14...
Do you still have footage of those battles? Please do some highlight videos with analysis. Against Sauce, Jungle and the other high stakes regs. You know, a 1 hour Sauce episode or so. Would be epic.
I really like these stories!!
Sweet vid, cheers bro!! Bazam
the best poker content ive ever watched!
Cool video man!
lol no one without elite HU experience should be giving Doug action just on this video alone.
Dnegs two years later: "Hold my sandwich."
Hahahaha epic comment! Like!!!
Falafel sandwich, that is :D
this is the best video you ever made on your youtube channel.
more of theese stories !! maybe even animated with commentary? that would be siiick (if the animation is good)
Great stories! What's up Doug!
18 hours of playing or studying sauce lol. Can you do a video on what a daily grind looks like for a poker player
Dougie burger, how in the f did you not use the epic Ike WPT clip where he is blasting with 4 high with the wind blowing in his glorious mane when talking about heads up play. #runituponsentence
Hey Doug on average how often in a month do you have days that you run bad?
This is my favorite poker story link of all time.
F***ing great video Doug. Really really interesting.
Will you apply the same ethic to Film / Comedy? Try picking up 'Screenplay' by Syd Field (the book that taught James Cameron how to write Terminator), and 'Story' by Robert Mckee, then have a watch of something like 'The Hangover'. It's amazing how scientifically constructed some of the these amazing movies are.
Peace bro.
Pre black Friday. The feels
these poker stories are so great . Way better than dramma
One of the best poker vids ever
Balancing check-bet-bet lines and bet-check-bet lines and even check-check-bet lines is the key to being the cream of the crop
