dj impulse Yeah, regarding size it’s simply unbeatable. But I will also think about the X100V because of the issues I have with the X70. But I would like an X80 even more. Thanks for watching!
The X70 taught me the basics of photography. I bought it when I knew nothing other than the fact that a large sensor is a good thing. In the beginning I shot in automatic modes but always things happened I didn't like. Then I started to learn about aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Therefore I think this camera is quite good for smartphone shooters like I was who want to know what “real photography“ is like. For them it's also ok that it hasn't got an EVF. The drawback is that it does many things worse than a smartphone. I think that is the reason why it was not as much sold as Fuji wanted.
You just perfectly described my current situation and have almost convinced me to spend way more than the 400 mentioned in the video to buy this camera used. I still haven’t seen a single negative review.
I just bought a mint second hand X70 yesterday. I regretfully sold my Ricoh GR II earlier this year during lockdowns, shortsightedly as there was nowhere to go and now I miss it. Since I have an Fujifilm X-T3 as my main camera but being too big, the Ricoh was great. This time I went to try the X70 and hopefully will have a good comparison in future. The ergonimics and the size of the Ricoh were a lot better, but the X70 is still pocketable, aesthetically good looking and takes similiar images to my X-T3 with 18-55mm lens. I hope I can keep this thing for a long time!
I’ve bought an X70 the first day it became available and I’m still shooting with it today. It has its quirks, but has great image quality and great build quality. I’m an old school stills guy, so I rarely use it for videos. It simply has everything I want in a camera and fits in my pocket. It’s a great little camera.
Great video! I've got an X70 myself in amazing condition but it it works only in electronic shutter as far as i can understand even if I chose the mechanical one. Do you happen to know why? Thanks in advance!
I bought a new x70 in 2019, primarily for travel, and I was really happy with it (past tense because, well, travel...). During the past months shooting inside the house, mostly my cats, I am using my husband's Sony A7iii and I am blown away by how strikingly clear the Sony shots with continuous animal eye AF are compared to my old x70 (also using AF). I still look forward to traveling with my little x70 again, and I guess this is a perfect opportunity to practice using manual AF.
Hey. Sorry, somehow I missed your comment here. You know that it's of course unfair to compare these AF System. :D Sony is well known to have one of then best (if not THE best) AF in the A7. ; ) But yeah, manual focus (and Zone Focussing, have a look at my video) with the X70 is fun, try it! Thx for watching.
I bought my X70 for over three years ago. Experimented with my workflow over the years with raw-files converters and other programs, I think I finally find my workflow. Since I bought the latest iPad mini 5 I import raw-files for develop in Photo or Affinity Photo. I´m almost blended about the sharpness and colors every time. The camera itself its very compact, maybe too compact for my fingers. I sometimes struggling with controls both on lens and camera because they are too thin. Otherwise the tiltscreen is a must for me, mostly in low hight photos, and 28mm (eqv) its not for my like, soon as you tilt it is difficult to compose. As a 35mm shooter with my OM 4 decades back I really thinking about the X100V as a replacement.
kenneth61 Hey Kenneth. Thank you for sharing your story with the X70. Yes, the compactness is not only an advantage and the struggle with the AF is real. I decided to test the X100V now instead - even if it’s Screen is not fully articulating. We’ll see... thanks for watching!
