I do agree, two super boys would be very redundant, unless Jordan dies or something Jonathan shouldn't get powers, that line at the end of season 2 about Jonathan possibly getting into kryptonian tech makes me think he will go the booster gold route eventually.
I think IF the show ever decides to give him powers I think it will manifest itself suddenly for shock value (in contrast to Jordan’s gradual build up), perhaps when they are in a no-win scenario and then Jonathan’s sudden powers will be a last-second solution that no one saw coming. Regardless, IF we ever get Jonathan with powers I don’t want to see them for at least another couple of seasons (if ever) as I agree with the OP.
Yeah and the show is called "Superman and Lois", so it would make sense one of the two kids would take up on their mom and be a hero without superpowers.
To be honest eventually it would be great for Jonathen to gain powers too. However, If there's too many people with Superman powers it would be too chaotic and will get boring so quick. Remember CW Flash?? Yeah, it was very chaotic
Putting this out there. The opening of this episode is amazing. If I'm right. I think that bed that Clark built up was Martha's bed that she died in at the beginning of the show. The second most important person to die in front of him due to things he can't control.
Might have been Martha’s bedroom. I would think they got rid of Martha’s bed rather than keeping it unused for several years. I mean… they could have used that bed for Jon’s girlfriend when she moved in. I think it’s a brand new bed.
@@dygz it's not brand new, there was a shot of Clrk in the shed getting covers and what could have been a mattress and the way he did it seemed solemnly. Also why would they even feature the building of a new mattress especially since lik you said lois could have been put on the guestroom. It only works thematically to reflect on how simular this situation is to Martha's. This show is really great at showcasing superman lesser known weaknesses like sound and hubris but above all else his greatest weakness is his heart and how it breaks due to the fragility of the love ons around him.
You are 100% spot on. It was intentional. They dismantled the bed because he lost his mum, now, he has had to re-build it, in the same room where he lost her and Lois is in it. The shot as he looks back, is him coming to terms that it's happening all over again. It was also the first time i actually felt that he will outlive everyone, and it was sad to see - reminds me of the film UP, when he loses his wife in the beginning and has to carry on living. @@batmanvideogames Well, Kyle is upset because he thinks Jon went inside the building. Jon should have just said that Superman or Steel dropped the body a couple of feet away, so he needed to check to see if the person was breathing.
Say what you will about the brothers' fight, but it's one of the more convincing arguments I've seen recently. This show has had that in the previous seasons, but it still surprises me. Kudos to the writers & actors. Also, Sarah told Jordan to look at things from Jonathan's perspective, which was the right thing to say & do, but Jordan's perspective is also pretty interesting. He's been training with his dad for quite some time, and as he gained control over his powers, his relationships with family & friends somewhat improved, and he overcame his anxiety. And now, he finally gets to use his powers to help people just like his dad, but he's still a teenager, and sooner or later, having the powers of SUPERMAN will go to your head. On top of that, he might've wanted to team up with Jonathan. Jonathan goes in with Kyle and the rest of the fire team to assess the damage and put out the fire, and Jordan handles rescue without escalating the situation. Them teaming up would improve their relationship and give Jordan more field experience. So, when his brother storms into Sarah's place, and lashes out instead of thanking him like he expected, Jordan lashes out. I know it sounds like I'm taking Jordan's side here, but I'm not. There's a difference between rationalization and justification. Both brothers are right AND wrong. Again, that's what makes for compelling arguments, and the writers get that.
21:00 I laughed so goddamn hard. This show continues to nail what it's like to be on chemo. At first you feel fine. You have tons of energy, because you weren't noticing how much the cancer was draining you, and now that it's starting to die instead of grow you're a lot less tired! ...but then the chemo keeps going. And going. My doctor warned me going in that chemo was going to feel way worse than cancer, and he was 100% right. I really hope they don't bring in Luthor to steal the show from Mannheim.
