  • This is a yet another re-upload for better quality and High Definition.
    A ride aboard Red Deer Transit's last remaining active GM Fishbowl which was originally built in 1980 as no. 71-44. She was rebuilt/refurbished in the early 2000's as no. 510. This bus was retired in late 2010.

    Beautiful condition, and those open back windows were so underrated on buses. I appreciated transit companies that didn't cover them up with wraps and inserts for ads and kept them as windows for better light and rider enjoyment.

    Now this brings back memories. St. Catharines Transit had a whole fleet of these, and I rode them a bunch as a kid.

      Some of those St. Catharines Transit buses from back then are originally from Alberta too!

      Yes they did! Those were quite a bit later on than the former Calgary ones.

      they have a few but most of them in storage and one is used for special events

      Saskatoon had them to. we retired them in 2013 & we kept 2 they kept one in regular service for several more months and kept the other one for a heritage antique in 2013 for celebration of 100 years. they re-painted it to the original 70s paint scheme. TaxiCab Yellow Roofs. Military Green Upper Sides Around The Windows. That Same Yellow Lower Sides. The Same Green At The Very Bottom.
      Our Very Last Fishbowl Was Retired In Winter Of 2014 Do To An Accident

      So you filmed in November 2010 so you’re saying that Bus was retired in December 2010?. so you must’ve taped this on its final day of regular service
