Engine still sounds clean after that many years. Good video.

SEPTA in Philadelphia had a lot of D40LFs with the Series 50/Allison transmission (5401-5500, 5501-5600 and 5613-5712) before later batches were equipped with a ZF (and many of those, including the 5613-5712 series with Allison transmissions) were retrofit with a Cummins ISL. Those New Flyers definitely lived up to their name with the acceleration. The axles definitely helped give the NFs a very distinctive sound.

I miss the old D40 LFS with the s50. I use to ride in them all the time when TTC had them

not bad for a bus that's 25 years old but ISC powered D40LF's are still my favorite as they're more Bassey when going into gear especially one's with Allison

@@Trackside_magpie_7535 The only one that I know of that still exists is #7546 at the Calgary Fire Department Training Centre off of 52nd St. N.E. in Calgary.

March 27, 2020 was the last date my bus was used in revenue service, the garage it was out of was temporarily closed down due to covid service reductions from April 4th 2020 to late August 2020 but never returned to service with the 2019/2020 Nova LFS CNG's that were being delivered when things were shut down. I bought the bus July 23, 2021
