DETROIT DIESEL 6V71/6V92 MEGA COMPILATION -- 4 minutes of roaring 2-stroke buses in Calgary, AB (HD)

  • A collection of over two dozen clips taken between 2012-2014 capturing Calgary Transit and Red Arrow Spruce Meadows buses making some sweet Detroit Diesel 2-stroke noise.
    All videos were taken by me. Oldest clips are from June 2012, most recent ones are October 2014. All buses shown are long retired now with very few examples still remaining in existence.

      AMC also made city buses back in the day but didn't see too many Saw mostly GMC buses

      I think the two strokes were available in a D40LF until 1994 when it was replaced by the rattly series 50.

      Yes! I didn't either. The very first batch of low floors had the last series of Detroit 2-strokes. I didn't Know it at the time, but after I learned about the Detroit 2-stroke engine several years ago, I started realizing all the vehicles that had those engines.

      These clips are from 2012-14 (read description) by 2013-14 pretty much all of these buses were gone.

      @@alpzepta and they all sound ass compared to the 2 strokes. Also worth noting brand new 2 stroke detroits are still being assembled somewhere in the world for generators and construction equipment. When engine platforms die off like that usually the company will destroy their casts and tooling, but I think detroit sold theirs to someone in another country. Or they were given to a company for scrap and not properly disposed of. I'm fine with either

    Well gang. At 39, that is Theee first D40 Low Floor with a 2 stroke anything that ive seen in Motion!😂😂😂. Flew into BC in 93, parked. Saw one at JFK in 99, Parked.

      @@JJC991I know is the first low floor bus to have an 6v92 engine and the transmission still sounds the same as all the other Detroit diesel engines or Cummins engines

    Pontiac MI made GMC buses

      Being that the video is from Canada, all the buses in it were built at the GM Diesel Division plant in London, Ontario. 😉
