Thank you for being direct and to-the-point. This is one of the better videos on RUclips regarding drones. I'm on the fence between the two but luckily a dear friend of mine has purchased the Mini 3 Pro and I get to try it out before making a final decision. I'm still fairly new but I'm really enjoying the learning curve.

DJI generally flies better than Autel so an advantage on the Mini3 is really the flight performance.
Thanks for this comparison and demonstration! I do own both drones and I concur with your findings. I did not know that the Nano would fall out of the sky when depleted. That is concerning! Fortunately, I do not fly until the battery gets critically low. Thanks for sharing.

At this point the Nano + Fly more can be had for just over 700 If you keep an eye on price swings. I couldn't find a Fly more level of Mini 3 for under 1000 to 1200 Bills. This is the same yet different arguments DJI fanbois gave towards the Autel offering vs the Mini 2 not very long ago.

Good video just wished u would let us know how fast each drone descends and ascends and noise difference going straight up till can’t hear it anymore.
Agree with your conclusion! Image quality might be better on the Nano but the Mini 3 also gives high quality footage. It's not enough to outweigh the other important stronger points of the Mini 3 particularly safety features and flight performance.

Putting aside the differences you identified, the most significant difference between these drones is the camera sensors on each drone.
Mini 3 has a RGGB sensor.
Nano+ has a RYYB sensor.
The RYYB sensor on the Nano+ provides significantly better dynamic range than the RGGB sensor on the Mini 3.
You cannot get anywhere near the same results with shadows or in low light from Mini 3 that you can get with the Nano+.
Additionally the image detail from the RYYB sensor is alot better than the RGGB sensor.
The RYYB sensor of the Nano+/Lite simply blows away the results from any similar sized RGGB sensor (regardless of drone manufacturer).
IMO for camera image capability, the Nano+ is superior to the Mini 3.
The RYYB camera on the Nano+/Lite can even compete with or outperform the imagery coming from the larger 4/3 RGGB sensor on my Mavic 3, particularly with video imagery.
Furthermore, why fly a drone to zero battery?
Of course it will fall out of the sky.

The Mini 3 pro landed automatically before the battery was depleted. So your statement isnt completely true. Also this test was done for demonstration purposes if you were paying attention

Ooh, interesting idea. It's hard because customer service can be so specific based on what the issue is, and the specific rep you're dealing with. In my personal experience, I've had positive experiences dealing with customer service of DJI, Autel and Skydio. That wasn't always the case a few years ago. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

The mini 3 pro is clearly the best all round, and does have very strong points of its own, just as the nano plus also has for example night is much better on the nano.

Wow! if the battery is 🪫 empty no drone on earth or any other universe will keep flying. The Nano+ you can still bring back the drone while the Mini will land in the water. The most important thing on any flying camera is the video quality every thing else is secondary. Nano+ produce the best video quality of any drone in the market. The Nano+ does not seams be be a little better, but in fact a lot better in dynamic range, color range and definition. Just look at the mountains where the details of the Mini does not exist while all the details of the Nano+ is there. Period!

I agree that the DJI mini 3 is the better drone. Your opinion on photo and video comparisons though, I’d disagree, but only because “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” I definitely prefer the image and video of the DJI mini 3.

100% facts
Autel does not have "crash protection" mechanism. This is one of the reasons DJI still remains at the top of personal drone manufacturer on the world.
Does the nano plus have any type of over issues he like the mini 3.

Thank you for the comparison! My takeaway is that the Mini is somewhat better overall. However, considering that Nano+ Fly More kit has dropped to a bit over $700 vs $950 for the Mini, which one would you recommend?

Safety and practicality will trump almost eveything else. You can't go wrong with DJI on those aspects.
What about visibility while in flight? What I mean is: it seems the orange coloring of the Nano+ would be easier for VLOS than the gray of the Mini 3 Pro. I don't recall anyone mentioning that in comparisons. (Not that it would necessarily be a deal-breaker.)
I haven't tested this myself, but you bring up a good point.
I agree with you on the footage comparison. The camera on the Nano Plus captures more detail than the camera on the Mini 3 Pro does. As to the colors, all of that can be corrected in post so to me that doesn't matter. If DJI only upgraded the camera to one that could capture detail similar to that of the Nano Plus camera on their next mini drone, that would be enough to eliminate the competition. Frankly, I could do without the vertical mode on the Mini 3 Pro in favor of the camera simply capturing more detail. I never post RUclips shorts, nor do I care about posting high res videos on Twitter... Frankly, if I should happen to watch a RUclips short or a video on my phone I couldn't care less as to weather or not those videos have 4K resolution or were cropped. I just don't think anyone would notice the difference in those instances. All that to say that I have no need for the vertical mode and I think if DJI would have skipped that feature in favor of a camera that could capture more detail, many of us would be better served.
I can’t fly the DJI where I live just outside of DC unless I get a code from DJI EVERY TIME. not gonna happen. So I need to fly without geofence restrictions built in.
Airspace in the D.C. area is tough!
Does the Nano Plus have geofencing restricted air space Maps?
Not restricted! Autel introduced a No-Fly Zone geofencing database in August, but drone pilots aren't prevented from taking off in any particular airspace. It's just for situational awareness.
Hello i wish you could help me I don't know which drone should I buy if the nano plus or the Dji Mini 3 standard not the pro, I had the mini 2 and never had a problem or issue but I like the nano plus but people has said that I had problems with connection or problems with the return home and some other things can some one helped me please 😊
The DJI Mini 3 is a great drone! I would compare both of their specs and see if you find any other troublesome problems like you did with the Nano +.
My sources say look for Autel's drones soon to be discounted 10 - 20%.

Vertical shooting and automatic RTH at critical battery level! The Mini 3 Pro seems to have much more advanced tech than the Nano +

This is the 1st FAIR & UNBIASED Review of the Nano Plus vs the Mini 3 Pro. I don’t care what anyone says, my Nano Plus takes better night video than even my Mavic 3. Just incredible for a sub250g drone!!!
