It's a fantastic lure, I rate it better than the Chase Baits Drunken Mullet version. I prefer the solid body of the River2sea instead of the jointed body of the Chase Baits.
Just started watching your channel love the bass videos just started having a crack in the werribee river myself live just down the road in lara Cheers rob . Also love the Metallica top haha🤘
Cheers Rob, it can take a bit of learning but once you understand the Werribee River you will come to appreciate it as a fantastic sportsfishery. Good luck mate and let me know how you go out there 👍
Another terrific session on those Bass. Love the review and tips for your setup, actually looked at getting the SLX, but just waiting until I get a bit better with lures. Great job!!!
Thanks Larry! The standard SLX doesn't have the digital control, it's a bit extra for that but in my opinion for around the same money as a standard Curado it's worth it.
Have had my SLX DC for a couple years now, it’s a fantastic reel. I just got a Excense DC SS, and I’m interested to see how the Slx DC XT (just released) will do.
The Excense would be fantastic! I am thinking about going a Curado DC at some point, would probably feel a lot smoother on the retrieve than the SLX DC
@@jordythebassist the Excense DC SS is technically better than the Curado and has a drag clicker, got mine for $230 lol Just now got the rod for it as well It’s honestly still pretty close in smoothness to the SLX DC, the Curado DC isn’t much smoother than the SLX DC. But that’s just out of box feel.
What size baitcaster is it mate? I tend to go a lot heavier with line on them than on a spinning reel, I wouldn't fish any lighter than 15lb braid which is what I have on this reel.
@@jordythebassist i fish 10lb on my lighter one Jordy, depends what you are targeting I guess... But I'm guessing Nathan must have hooked a cod to burn through leader in freshwater... I have watched my mate land a 70cm jewy with 6lb leader teeth rubbing and still got it in, at then end of the day it's all in the drag and rod bend I think Nathan could have even just had the drag a touch too tight
Just got one myself but for cod 👍🏼 I was lucky enough my mate upgraded to the 200, so got his for a bargain price after only being used 2 or 3 times That really do sound awesome when you cast them out, Great way to give it a proper break in... I think 2 seems great as an all round setting so far, Can't wait to give mine a proper break in soon with some big cod... That first one hit like a cod and wasn't even that big woohoo Awesome video as always mate great work I must say I still prefer the fight on a spinning reel over the caster You get some chucky bass down there mate, I wonder if they eat a bunch of reddies, In lake Lyell it only took a few years for the Bass to reach 50+ in size due to the amount of Redfin available for dinner 😅 Keep it up bro, Tight lines 🎣 PS you can order whopper ploppers off Ali express, great price and they work well
Yeah 2 is good but if the lure is more finesse for the gear then 3 works well. Not kidding about the spinning gear, you'd know what I mean when I say the audio on the footage with a reel drag is a lot better for viewing pleasure hahaha
@@jordythebassist I just feel like a largemouth fisherman with a caster lol Nothing like a screaming drag of a spinning reel... Music to any fishermans ears
Hey Reno 🙂 mostly below the wall at the moment. There was a mix of both in the river up until the floods late this year, but the EPs seem to have been flushed out by the floods and there is nothing but Bass now. Originally they weren't supposed to ever be in there, however the story is that the hatchery made an error and sent 50k or so of Bass instead of EPs. The Bass are outside their natural distribution and have essentially taken over the river now which is something that is fun for fishos but may not be the best sign for the overall health of the ecosystem. Until VFA advise us they need to be removed we will keep releasing them though.
@@24fishing39 will be before 6am but not sure where, I usually make up my mind where I want to fish as I'm driving and I travel around while fishing to different spots to try find the fish.

Thanks Charlie, might be time for you to check out some new spots as it's been quiet up near your tree lately
