Early 1940s I lived in an old Yorkshire hamlet where large families lived in one up one down houses. Many were very poor, the family who lived next door to me. had a large family. The family boys were out Rabbiting or Fishing, any fish they caught they brought home for the table. I used to see huge Pike the older boys had caught, there was huge Pike caught in our local canal, it was a record mounted Pike that weighed 37 Lbs.on show in our Towns Gun Shop. It was said that the older boys had caught Pike that were bigger, and I saw some quite huge.ones the lads living next door had caught. The dad of the family used to fillet Pike on their front door step, removing the skin of Pike that reached from one end of the step to the other. Alas, not many had cameras in those days and I doubt if anyone had time to take a picture before the fish was on their table for dinner.
I had two Latvians and took a dead pike to them. They prepared and cooked it. It was beautiful white, firm meat. In Switzerland perch are considered better than trout.

They are huge but pike rat things the same size as them well done Chris im 13 and love your content and stride to be like you so thsnks for all yhe advice snd content over the years ❤ we all love the videos
6:35. That was an excellent catch. Definitely a reaction strike from a territorial perch. I've had smaller perch chase 12-15cm crankbaits. They'll never be able to get it down their gob but you can piss them off so much that they'll hit it.
As always, I love your enthusiasm Quick questions x 2 What is that landing net ? it looks great ! Also - there was a black cylinder further up the line in some shots, but not in others - what is it ? Thanks again fella
Cuts in softbaits are very easily fixed with a small piece of metal, and or lighter, just heat up but not burn! the two sides of the cut, then just press lighty together and it will fuse again. Deeper cuts you can use the metal for, to start at the bottom and do the fusing in steps if needed.
Great video Chris! I fish mostly fishing with 23cm and max 28cm softbaits. The bigger baits gets more attack from smaller pike than smaller baits but...i catch more bigger pike on a 23cm softbaits and jerkbait 15cm.
Hi Chris, watched quiet a few videos of yours myself and it’s clear your passionate about fishing and the welfare of them as well, what are your thoughts on the stinger set up in this video using swivels instead of trace wire, I personally fish a similar set up to you but would use several inches of trace wire as the stinger instead of linked swivels, in my opinion this set up of choice protects the teeth of the pike, as the pike thrashes and shakes it’s head the swivels can destroy the pikes teeth, with the heavy fishing pressure some of these fish already endure with more people than ever lure fishing for them us more experienced anglers could be more mindful of some of the setups we are using and make them as fish friendly as possible, I first come across this linked swivel stinger on some Scandinavian fishing video several years back and It seems to have influenced a lot of uk lure anglers to adopt the same approach without thought for the pike main hunting weapon its teeth, in Scandinavia the waters are so vast the fish may never get caught again, however over here in the uk we are sharing small waters and repeat capturing a lot of the same fish so protecting them has to be of upmost importance. I hope this finds you well and if you agree Chris could you possibly use your platform to spread awareness save a few of these beautiful fish from what I see as unnecessary up evil. Love your videos mate 🎣 Look forward to seeing your wild pets grow 🐟
Ginger a couple of tips in your lessons for Snagged Bros. 1) Get them to dress like the background and not like Hawaiian rent boys. 2) Get them to get bikes. Probably best not electric. 3) Give them some tips on tackle and locations to fish. Obviously not your own favourites.
You can use a big single hook (use svartzonkers myself) insted of a stinger with two trebbels. Or a single and one treb on the bottom. I find the hook up to be pretty much the same but less snaggy.
I regularly use 25cm lures now for pike. I find I get more takes from bigger fish than ever before (when using 16cm lures or smaller ones). It makes sense, I suppose lol.
I catch alot of jacks on big baits. Despite them not being able to actually eat that size, they still go for it. Might be because they cant really estimate the size at first or they attack for territorial reasons. Only downside is the hook up ratio.
Thanks for the great vid! Hope you've learnt now two important lessons! One don't ride bike with one hand and a fishing rod and two if you are riding a bike with one hand and a fishing rod eject the fishing rod before the crash! 😊😂😅
Not such a good day for a new first time out set up!!?? Come on Chris, come back to earth buddy. To christen a new set up, first time out with a double figured fish (and from such a small river too) would delight most anglers. Nice rod but £300 though. Cheers for the video buddy 👍🏴
Such a nice man and a seemingly happy man. I've criticised him in the past for not being very 'tough' - for want of a better word - after falling over or cutting himself, but he's a pleasure to watch and listen to. Long may he continue to be happy in his fishing.
You know it’s been a good day when the ginger fisherman releases a new video 🎣
Yeah man 🎉

Ginger is back! :) It's still a little warm around here but I can't wait to try to cast some bigger lures too. Great stuff, thank you!
As always, I love your enthusiasm
Quick questions x 2
What is that landing net ? it looks great !
Also - there was a black cylinder further up the line in some shots, but not in others - what is it ?
Thanks again fella
You have one of the best vlogs out here Chris.

I've only ever caught a handful of fish bigger than those lures! 😂
It's crazy what perch take sometimes. I had my pb perch this year of 2lb 5oz on a miruas mouse type lure. Fantastic video again.
I'm also in the middle of pike season. Very nice to watch now!
Good job Chris

Greetings from Russia! Great fishing and good movies! 👍
Well done 🎉
Whats that harness you are using? Homemade or bought?
I noticed you had the camera on your line, did the footage not turn out as expected?. Want to purchase myself but only if it's worth it?
Wow I carnt get over the perch trying to take that size bait . Brilliant photographer...😅
What size braid? And what's the black box on the line?

Hi love watching your channel. Any advice on what gear to buy for a beginner.
Experienced that exact thing (perch hitting a lure the same size as it) except that my lure was much smaller and the fish was much smaller
Nice Chris
Whats your bigggest lure caught pike on a canal Cris.?
I regularly use 25cm lures now for pike. I find I get more takes from bigger fish than ever before (when using 16cm lures or smaller ones). It makes sense, I suppose lol.
Love the videos❤
Could it be territorial or think there was bait fish about !

those gums looks so good
Why are you not at the ypc I thought you won a spot?

Excellent fish well-being as always, keep them coming lad! Respect!🎣 🖕✌🏼
No you are the beast 😅😅😅
Very thick and healthy ginger beard. "Men Only" beard fertilizer I assume?

We’re do you fish
Have you ever had a pike attack a fish you were returning?

Where's the handsome Scottish guy that was guiding you?
That perch needs eye glasses or something 😅
Got the weight of that bait just right nice casting!
