It’s funny that Boston just said that they were expecting huge population drop because of cost of living and commercial real estate vacancies in Boston to the tune of nearly 1 billion dollars lost tax revenue. So I’m confused by all of this!

Those new developments are for the wealthy young professionals and rich childless adults. As soon as they decide to start a family, most move out to the suburbs, this how it’s always been here!

Im on the other side of the world to you in Melbourne Australia, will all of these developments reach fruition? What are the impressionist shots from, council, gov or state websites? What is your research based on?
The reason I ask is that sadly sometimes something really hopeful promised like for example in Melbourne we have been promised a rail link from the CBD to the airport since the 1970's but all the people in power keep fighting and it never happens, or a world class casino in Cairns (Far north Queensland/Great Barrier Reef) but it doesnt happen due to a whole range of factors?

Most of the ultra elite even buy real estate on the shores. The rise of sea/ocean levels are based on assumptions, and one set of scientists go to the extreme parameters (which end up in 3 meters rise in 60 years) to others who are on the conservative spectrum (where it is on the lower end of the spectrum with just a few inches in 60 years). If you believe it will be 3 meters, dont buy anything on sea/ocean level. if you think it is minor increase, just buy real estate on the ocean level. maybe ask yourself why arent governments taken this 3 meter approach not into account. it might be that it is a not realistic assumption.

@@atedejong5620 I was asking the author of the video for information that he might have heard. I’m well aware of the different opinions out there, and I’m not interested in politically motivated suggestions to guess what politicians are thinking; I wouldn’t outsource my thinking to them or to most buyers of Seaport property. I was asking the OP for _what he had heard,_ because I’m interested in what conversations they are having.
By the way, as an Ivy League trained scientist (not in the climate space) I’ll point out that the process of making climate forecasts and determining cause and effect is not typically a political process and relies on much more than “assumptions.” There’s every attempt to get hard data and to update models using new data at every opportunity. If you’d like to understand, I’d encourage you to find a recent climate-science article in a top academic journal (such as Nature) and take the time to slowly read the methods section. See for yourself. I hope you find it interesting and that it sparks a fresh interest in learning directly from scientific studies rather than depending on politicians to interpret them for you. I wish more people would try that!

I left to move to the N.Shore 25 years ago and it was the best thing I did. I still work construction in the city and it’s a joke. You can’t drive there every street is now one lane because the lefty environmentalists don’t want cars. Hey…good luck with those bikes in Dec. Jan. Feb. Mar. and. April. Not to mention all the idiots flying thru traffic on those pieces of crap scooters delivering food. And of course those bikes again ,forget that they are supposed to follow the same rules as if they were in a car.
