You’re right, it does. Any type of housing luxury or not is needed as it alleviates pressure & demand for units in the lower ranges. Furthermore, projects like this generate millions of dollars for the state - a lot of which goes to fund affordable housing initiatives.

Another boring, glass tower. The interior design is so uninspired and bland, cold. And it doesn't complement South Station at all. What's worse, I doubt anyone living here will "lower" themselves to using the mass transit hub its built on

Due to the city's proximity to Logan International Airport, building height is restricted to about 800 feet. Buildings in Downtown Boston are even lower at 700 feet.

Why would they want to? Huge skyscrapers damage city life - they create wind tunnels and block out the sun. One of the reasons Boston stands out among other large US cities is because it has done a great job of restricting building height.

The Ritz isn’t the company behind this development. It’s just being branded as the Ritz Carlton Residences. Hines is the one developing the property & paying licensing fees to the Ritz. Thanks for watching.
Anyone that can afford to live here can afford to live at raffles,Winthrop ,millennium and any building in seaport…..Winthrop and millennium are down the street from south station…most ppl living there don’t even use south station and if u did u could just walk it’s literally down the street…..entrance to ritz south station is a disaster pull up next to abunch of homeless junkies who hang around that spot because of the heat from the man hole covers…why would anyone want to pay big money to live essentially in one of the most dangerous areas of Boston…all walks of life r coming in and out of south station constantly….also views are bad ur literally looking into seaport (not ocean) buildings …this will be another st Regis disaster…when st Regis seaport recently threatened to pull the naming rights on the building because the building ownership was going to auction off apartments because the lack of capacity and lack of interest

The views are actually great at South Station Tower, very unobstructed, even in the lower level units - I was just in the building with a client.
