I used BG44k 2 years ago. Just bought a 2015 Mazda5, 145,000 miles. ($1500) I did not have a check engine light on. Couple of months later I got Check Engine light. Used another bottle. After another month or so Light went off and its been a year. I'm glad I didn't have to have the ports cleaned out by hand.

Next time include the high PEA (polyetheramines) additives like; Red Line SI-1, Chevron Techron, LiquiMoly Jectron, Amsoil PI, and even Gumout Regane.
The BG44K is the only one above that could even come close to these high PEA injector cleaners!! 😉

I didn’t notice any difference when the shop id been going to switched to bg product without me knowing. Still charged the same though. So I went back and complained about not noticing any improvement. My case was more extreme then simply high mileage though. 2 leaking injectors on s10. With the snap on fluid truck ran much better for about 600 miles. Finally had it fixed when buddy got back to town.

People don't make the mistake that I did on my 99 mustang gt. I put a fuel cleaner in my tank and did not replace my fuel filter first so the cleaner loosened up all the crud that was accumulated inside of my filter and the loosened crud accumulated inside of my injectors and stopped them up, so if you introduce a fuel cleaner into your tank then I would advise you to have a relatively new fuel filter first. Experience is a wonderful and sometimes costly teacher.

I am an additive nut. Take my money, just the way I am. I have tried all of these except the Enzymes. In my humble experience, BG44K, Royal Purple Max Clean / Max Atomizer, and Redline SL-1 are topshelf products with monstrous levels of PEA. Older and traditional products like Seafoam and MMO are also excellent. With all of them, I have found that time and frequency is your friend. The more often/longer you run these at the recommended dosages, the better. While some may choke at the price to do this, it is what it is.

Thanks for evaluating the BG44K! I've been using it every 10,000 miles in my vehicles and since 1994. When I had purchased my 1994 Mazda Protege I was introduced to it by Pat Goss (from the Car Show), when he conducted a seminar at my Mazda dealership, with a cross section cut of a 1.8L engine, and taught me also how to do a proper intake manifold cleaning. I immediately saw a 10% increase in power from a dead stop, and 2.5mpg fuel increase (after following BG's procedures). You're right, BG chemicals are the bomb!
Just don't forget to wear gloves, and have a CLEAN shop rag handy in case you spill any on the paint, because it can eat right through your clearcoat in less than 30 seconds. This was developed specifically for race car and high end vehicles originally that rev at very high rpms, so you can be confident it will work on any gasoline engine (can't speak to 2 strokers).
No, I don't have any connection to BG, but I know what works. Btw, I average driving my vehicles 250,000 miles, and with very little loss of performance or mileage, and with combustion chambers that look like they just rolled off of the assembly line.
    Nuff said!

Thanks for the test, one thing I might add ... been hauling Mobil gas for 24yrs now, since merging with Exxon in 2001, Exxon cut Mobil's gas additives in half, it barely meets the minimum for auto makers requirements. Their premium has twice the additives per gallon, which might have worked better in this test. You used to be able to "Drive your car clean" when Mobil was Mobil with twice the additives in the regular. All Exxon cares about is profits, in my opinion.

Marvel mystery oil has some cleaning qualities that manifest when it is combusted in the cylinder however, it's main purpose is to provide top cylinder lubrication and lubrication within the moving parts of the fuel system... fuel pump, injectors, etc. I would use BG 44K to clean / strip out the fuel system, then follow up with MMO to lubricate everything. MMO also conditions the rubber parts and seals keeping them from drying out from harsh additives like ethanol in the gas and strong solvent like cleaners such as BG 44K, seafoam etc...AWESOME VIDEO! 👍👍

@Peter Angles What opinions? I stated facts not opinions. Not all fuels in all areas are clean all of the time. All it takes is one bad batch of gas and that will leave contaminates in the fuel system. Using products like Marvel mystery oil and BG 44K ensures that the fuel system will operate at peak efficiency throughout its service life. Just because a "modern" fuel system can withstand harsh fuels and is reliable to a high mileage doesn't mean keeping it clean is unecessary or unimportant. These products provide extra insurance for reliability and longevity. Like the old saying goes " If you take care of your car, it will take care of you."

BG 44k is a very good product. My mechanic suggests using a can of it in the gas every time he changes the oil, which adds about $20 to the bill. It's expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
In 2016, the same mechanic replaced the fuel pump in my 2002 Chevy truck. At that time, he suggested using some Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas. He said that the MMO would lubricate the new fuel pump, and it should last longer. Ever since 2016, I have been using MMO in the gas of my truck, car, and lawn mower every time I fill up with great results. I use the recommended 4 ounces of MMO for every 10 gallons of gas.
Both vehicles are running better than ever, and my car now gets at least an extra 1.5 to 2 more miles per gallon on the highway. With Walmart now selling the quart (32oz) size of MMO for $3.98, (it had been $3.88 at Walmart for many years) I am actually saving money using MMO, as I am using less gas.

@Peter Angles I use MMO in the gas and in the crankcase as an added lubricant and it keeps the sludge from forming. The point of putting it in gas tank isn't for more BTU or power/energy, it's there to supplement in lubricating the injectors and the upper rings/cylinder. Every 25k miles, I use the BK products to clean injectors and the oil control rings. The BG is the best. I've run it in my lawn equipment and after a season of use, I pulled the pistons and they look new, not all crusted up with carbon and sludge. I believe in BG ;-)

I finally rebuilt my Harley motor last year as it needed a revamp like they all do around that mile mark. I’ve ran marvel in the fuel once a month and in every oil change since I got it. When I say the inside motor looked like it had 5k miles on it.. I’m serious. Mind you, the motor had 63k on it at the time of the rebuild. I was VERY impressed.

Their fuel injector cleaner and K44 is totally worth the cost.
I have done injector flushes with their cleaner that brought life back to engines. We always put a can of K44 in fuel tank after a flush.
They also offer a fuel additive you can put in with every tank full.
One of our customers has been using it for years and his vehicle has maintained its power and economy. He swears by the additive.

But even better is Tulene it's a fule booster also a solvent used to thin paint for road and parking lot stripes so the paint sprays as it's thick like paste . Cleans really well but burns hot and produces benzene in the exhaust. Smells like bandaids or gauze on the exhaust. I run in motorcycles for octane booster.

Marvel mystery oil would work great in a rotary Mazda Rx motor because it's basically a two cycle engine and need a little help. BG has worked well on everything from lawnmowers, snowblowers and many other engines. The true comparison is when you do a before and after inspection of the cylinder with a small camera down the plug holes. Another note is not all of these products combust the same and some leave behind more than they help.

Some of them leave residue in the fuel tank and clog fuel filters and injectors. Basically doing the opposite of what they were purchased for. If used directly into the fuel rails they'll get full combustion.

I can honestly tell you that none of these products do the job nearly as well as Amsoil's P.I. 'Performance Enhancer'. I had a 2004 Monte Carlo that I religiously added P.I. to the fuel tank twice per year. This was in 2010 and it had just under 100,000 miles on the odometer. My wife took that vehicle in for some service, I believe it was something about a belt and fuel filter. They attempted to scare her into paying for a fuel injection system cleaning. She called me, and I drove to that dealership and instructed the tech to push a scope into the intake to observe it's current condition. He took a close look and removed his scope and told the service manager that he had never seen a system so clean with that many miles on it before. I told them to give her the car and she headed home. I then told the service manager to take a hike.

I have a '03 Jeep Wrangler (Rubicon) that I ordered from the factory and I am the only driver; it has the 4.0 engine; it as been well maintained and never driven fast or hard. A few thousand miles later it developed a miss that the dealer could not identify and correct. I went to two other dealers with no success. Back to the first local dealer at about 10k miles and the service manager told me that there was a Technical Service Bulletin on this issue. Huh? Why in the blue blazes did he not tell me of this the first time I brought it in? Look at TSB 09-003-03 for 4.0 engines from 1999 to 2004, more or less. The exhaust valves get crud on the valve stems such that the valves are slow to close ever so slightly; I am surprised the exhaust valves do not burn from this. Now I use either Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) or Lucas Injector cleaner in the gas for several tanks which clears the problem/valve crud for about 3-5k miles. Both also stop the off-idle pinging when starting in first or second gear. I suspect some of these cleaners have to be warmed or hot to clean well. The engine uses very little to no oil so I suspect the deposits are from the gasoline and ethanol. Just my 2₵...

For instance. you should find some dirty used fuel injectors from the junkyard and test their initial output of fuel, then mix the additive with the correct ratio of fuel per the instructions. Next, run the mix through the injectors until the mix is used up then test the flow after. The cleaner injector wins.

I've tried too many fuel system cleaners. For Direct Injection motors The only 2 I've found that actually work is the Liqui Molly DIjectron and the Fuel Injector Pro 104. Just a heads up for anyone else with a DI motor. The old school cleaners like Seafoam and Lucas won't really do anything for you.

I wouldn't be ballsy enough to cover the samples like that esp, not knowing the chemical compositions (some are trade secret if you look at MSDS/SDS) and worries me about a gas reaction. 44k definitely works..... that's just half of what it'll do. Cleans valve excellent as well but there's also a second step to keep things clean and it's a kit that hooks up to the fuel system and cleans intake and exhaust as well.... yeah it's expensive but for what it does it's worth it.

The reason they fogged up is probably the gas had alcohol on a humid day. Try that with straight gas with alcohol on a humid day and they it fog up also. Pulling moisture out of the air

Although BG is the obvious winner when soaking the plugs, I have to wonder what the results would have been in their natural environment. I believe the chemical make up of the products were designed to activate under high heat, since that's the only time they would ever actually come into contact with the product - under detonation in the piston chamber. Just a thought. It might make a difference, or not. I guess it would involve a lot of work because you'd have to get 5 cars that have about the same wear and tear (fleet cars maybe?). Anyway, I think I'd end up getting the BG based on this test. Good video.👍

The cloudiness in the bottom of the bowls appears to be water that has been absorbed by the alcohol in the fuel. This shows that none of them do anything about keeping the fuel dry.

    • @JT-qf4it

@@juanc.9735 The additive that drys the fuel is alcohol. It lets the water mix with the fuel. The problem with that is it can cause rust and corrosion to form in the fuel system. It;s better to separate the water from the fuel and drain it out of the system.
