Thank you very much for the positive comment. While clickbait is very effective for getting people to watch videos, I'm trying to avoid misleading titles of any sort.
I'm going to down vote this video, I was expecting to be click baited but I was disappointed that the video was short, sweet and simple with nothing but honesty. Thank you.
I am a retired auto technician of 44 years on the job and have used many chemicals through out my career with so many different results. I like the Seafoam and it is priced right and does a good job. The BG K44 does an excellent job of cleaning the fuel injectors and oxygen sensors, and these results are proven on our high end equipment. In automotive we do not have a problem with carbon build up like the old days. You have very interesting test and I really enjoy your site. Keep up the good work.
I have used MMO in my old cars that I have had over the years because of their not so perfect engines. 50 ford Flathead, 55 Buick, 66 Falcon 6 and 52 Cadillac. They helped to keep the combustion chambers clean and helped me from getting valve seat recession from lack of lead in the gas. I didn't think it would be necessary on my modern Mazda skyactive. I tried it and drove the same 50 miles to work I always drive which is country and city driving. The week without was 36 MPG on the cars computer. The week after I started using it it started averaging 38.2 as listed on the engine computer. The engine was also remarkably smoother after that two week test. I mixed it 6 ounces for the 15 gallon tank. MMO works great!
BG 44k in my experience works amazingly concerning dirty carbs, it has a great ability to clean jets and needle seats from ethanol corrosion and damage. I’ve poured a whole can into 1/2 a tank of gas in a Honda CB that had clogged pilot jets and later that day it would idle on its own with no other carb adjustments.
Testing out different tools, engines, generators and cordless tools would be an awesome thing to do! So far everything that I''ve seen has been good, so keep up the good work!
You had the right idea running it through the intake. BG has a atomizer fitting that sprays into the throttle body, that connects to the pressurized cylinder that is also used to run the injector cleaner. When I use to service cars, I'd clean the throttle body, the run the 44k. Then after it set for about 15 minutes I'd use the injector cleaner. Always worked really good well and sometimes to the point of actually being able to tell a difference afterwards in the way it ran backed up by data readings. I don't know if the still make it, but GM use to have something called top engine cleaner and it worked pretty good as well. You ran it through the intake eventually stalling the engine and let it set for a while then restart.
I have been using BG-44K for over 32 years. My uncle used to own a gas station, in which I worked there. He sold BG-44K from a huge display rack. It worked great then, and it still works great today! Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.
Hi there I’m from Israel and we are using BG44K directly as an Infusion to the fuel line near the injector rail And it’s doing the job good enough because if you want seafoam you need to import it yourself By the way your channel is my favourite you have good ideas and the science is very accurate By far my favourite RUclipsr Thank you my friend for all the wonderful things that you are doing
My grandfather was a machinist and welder. He always swore by Marvel Mystery Oil and I still use it to maintain equipment and vehicles for my landscape business (some of the machines are 30+ years old and still run great.)
I`m 74 and used to fly small airplanes. The old timers at airports always promoted MMO. Airplane engines are crude and sticky valves used to be common. MMO helps to keep the valves from sticking.
Alot of people haven't heard of bg. I'm talking to my uncle about a good product for his daughter's cvt trans and I told him bg. He said what's that? That is a problem. Everyone should know about bg. We have a bg guy named Eric. Great product. Spread the word. I shared this video to him.
BG 44K was designed to clean olefins off the back of the intake valve to allow better heat transfer for proper fuel atomization in fuel injected engines. It also cleans the injectors for better spray pattern. It usually takes a day or so for better soak time. Using it in a carbureted engine is a waste of good product. Bell chemical makes a product that was marketed as combustion chamber cleaner and sold to dealerships as top end cleaner. It was ammonia based and contained 70% water that you sprayed directly into the carb. That was a fantastic product.
I understand that you'd like to branch out into other things, but I really enjoy your channel as someone who tests engines and chemicals. You're in a really cool little niche compared to all the people who just break tools and call it a productive channel. I don't really care which drill wins in a tug of war, I'll buy the best value I can for the money I have at the time. Your channel is really good for that since you test things that are priced similarly and you also go into all the detail you can about what variables were at play and what might have skewed results. That honesty is neat to see. I wouldn't hate seeing some 2 stroke motor stuff here though, it fits your theme and I'm sure there's plenty of myths floating around that you could torture those poor engines with.
Bg 44k is a fuel injector cleaner. Its meant to clean injectors not the combustion chamber. I believe bg has another product called epr that is meant for combustion chamber cleaning. I like your videos but this one missed the mark on what this product is intended for. I would have liked to see what 44k did for a fuel injector with a bad spray pattern or if it stabilized fuel or helped with water in fuel. Or test Bg EPR against sea foam on combustion chamber cleaning.
As soon as he showed the before and after of the combustion chamber I was like...."but that's not what this is used for" I'm glad somebody realized this besides just me.
BG 44K has always claimed to be a combustion chamber cleaner, among other things it does for the fuel system. The key is what is not listed in the MSDS, which historically has been polyether amine (fuel detergent)
44K is for the combustion chamber, and any where it can reach. If it stays active in the exhaust it will clean the Cat. This test is wrong, it needs to be under heat and pressure. We have been using 44K, ( now platinum ) for 35 years. The Poly ether Amine is so much more concentrated in this product, no else can touch it. The EPR is an oil product. It works from the Piston rings down only. The magic of it is restoring the rings to normal ,lowering blowby, raising compressing, and making the fuel control matrix better. I have before and after on real engines, not lwan mowers. This stuff is amazing. Sea Foam, its OK.
Lol I love your way of starting lawn mover. I use BG products and I'm very happy with all of them. My car turned into Duracell battery. It just keeps going an going and going for 21 years and around 200k miles now with just basic maintenance like fluids, sparkplugs changes no major repairs.
I would LOVE to see a diesel treatment test between Lucas, BG's, Howe's, and Diesel Kleen! I drive a diesel and am curious which one is best. you never cease to amaze with any of your videos and I absolutely love the fact you're not sponsored! keep it up man and I look forward to more videos!
Well I sprained my ankle a couple days ago so I've been binge-watching all your old videos that I hadn't watched and even rewatching some of the ones that I've already seen. The old videos are good but you have also come a really long way. Love the way the channel is going I think I've seen at least 95% of your videos at this point. What I would like to see is kind of a tour of the shop. I think this would be great too because it would give people more ideas of what videos to suggest. The equipment is just cool sometimes too
Would love to see a video on hot soaks, but with more PEA based cleaners like Techron, Gumout, Red Line. PEA levels are kept secret so it would be interesting to see actual performance of PEA cleaners, and effectiveness under different conditions. Maybe test their detergent ability at different temps when used in oil.
I have been a mechanic for years. I have used both for years I tend to keep the BG stuff for my Auto/diesel stuff, and the seafoam for mowers and smaller things. but yes they work. Thanks for another awesome video.
I've used bg44k fuel injector cleaner. I got amazing results, like the throttle became more responsive, and felt the car got faster. The rpm went higher compared to before using the bg44k. I highly recommend it but the price is a bit too much.
If you have an accurate, sensitive, tachometer, and the R's go up, that is about the best indicator the additive worked.. When you get nothing gained at all, in any so called friction reducer product, you got scammed in IMHO... 90 % of this stuff is just greatly artistic written claims, 10% of these, actually does what it claims, and even more sometimes! Project Farm is a Ray of Sunshine in a cloudy world that's only getting cloudier!
I heard that running an engine on propane cleans off the top end of an engine, could you try that sometime? by the way GREAT VIDEOS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Propane/lpg burns cooler and leaves no hydrocarbon deposits. Since it runs cooler it really wouldn't clean well. But if an engine has always run on lpg it will be spotless.
I love the destructive run something till it breaks videos, but I love it when you take things like that apart afterward to show what exactly failed, then, i really love it when we get to see it "patched up" or backyard fixed liking with jb weld and stuff. anyway thanks!
I picked a can of this randomly up today because I felt like my engine just wasn't it's normal self and with a price tag like $27, it makes a good video to see someone else buy it and do a couple experiments on it!
It would be interesting to see if it would improve the spray pattern of old injectors or remove the varnish from a carb. People say it’s the best fuel system cleaner out there. I also think it would be a good idea to to run the entire can over a few days allowing the product to soak in the system.
i dont know if in the old movies they did, but in the last one of Mad Max, people sprayed fuel directly into the air intake to give boost. i am 99'9999999999999999...% sure that it's a lie but would like to see you trying that
Excellent work! I have used BK44 for quite a few years and have friends that have tried it on my recommendation. I call it, a tune up in a can and my friends agree. I run a can every 3,000-5,000 miles and it really cleans out the injectors I believe. Of course I don't know that, but certainly I can feel the difference in power and if you have a neglected car, I think you will really notice the difference. I suggest using a can with only a 1/4 tank and run it hard! I wouldn't run it stronger than that because you may burn up valves. I learned the hard way and used too much in a new motorcycle and the bike started ticking pretty bad after that. Live and learn. In the coming days I am going to see how well the BK44 will work as a parts cleaner, cleaning up a dirt bike carb. Keep up your great methodical work!
Project Farm I know that some people like to draw their own conclusions but I personally would like to hear more of your personal opinion at the end of your videos. While I'm no stranger to a small engine you certainly have more experience than I do and I'd like to hear your thoughts.
I'd like to point attention to Ryan Grisham's comment- "Project Farm I know that some people like to draw their own conclusions but I personally would like to hear more of your personal opinion at the end of your videos. While I'm no stranger to a small engine you certainly have more experience than I do and I'd like to hear your thoughts." He's right. It would be really cool to hear you talk more about your take. You've gained everyone's respect and trust, so this would be a great addition.
I love your tests. Really interesting to see how the old ford ranger came around so well with seafoam and lucas. Would be nice to see how Duralube stacks up as they did a bunch of advertising like Slick 50 back in the day. Keep up the good work!
You have come so far man. I know its gotta be stressing coming up with new things. Thankful for you saving us so much money. And giving us great entertainment 👍
Berryman B12 it low cost and it works , I have tested this and did a excellent job, I used it in my mower with a Kohler motor, 2 cylinder 29 hp and my Briggs and stratton motor 6.5 hp and my 2004 F150 with a 4.6 eng I scope all 3 the top of the pistons were very clean, my mowers are both 2006 and I mow 3 ares every week, the push mower was purchased at a Pawn shop 8 years ago , I mow about a half are every week and smoke some, now it don’t smoke and stop using oil,
Considering that 44K is fuel system and more importantly a fuel injector cleaner and not a top end cleaner I feel like you're comparing apples and oranges. I would recommend BG part # 201. BG Fuel Injection & Combustion Chamber Cleaner. Also what would be fun is compression testing with BG EPR on an old engine. Part #109.
Yea there is a big chemical specifically for top engine cleaner. The 44k is more for a preventative cleaner more than to clean the carbon build up. Great test though. Great video
Hi, I don't know if someone else say this before, but can you run an engine only with brake cleaner instead of gas? greatings from Germany 👍 nice videos
Thank you for the hard work you do for all. I truly trust your input and buy stuff accordingly. I was always big on Consumer Report and since you showed up, it's only you!
I use the 44k all the time at work as part of an induction cleaning service. There is also an intake/throttle body cleaner and a fuel injector cleaner in the 3 pack that comes with the service. You should get a can of the BG intake cleaner and see what that does for the carbon.
Bg is meant for high compression, thats why it seemed ti not work on your lawn mower engine at only 120psi. That compression is yielded compared to the 190ish psi some of the older vw diesel motors run. It works great on thoses motors, but if you ran it thr9ugh the motor of your toyota it may not help at all.
44K is a fuel system cleaner and will clean all through the piston crown area. It works more efficiently with other products in the BG range. BG109 is a compression restorer. When added to oil and run for about 30 mins petrols and 45 mins diesels then whilst it is still in the engine carry out another comp test. We see fantastic results. It is not a cheap product. It has a lot of expensive ingredients in it which are wasted in a lawn mower engine. In our garage customers who have had services with these products used ask for them time and again. When results are given from its use it is usually after a tank full of fuel and around 500 miles covered. It's a gradual clean. Not a quick trip around the block. As a regular user of a wide selection of BG products I'm very happy and so are my customers with the results returned.
Did you ever think when you recorded this you would still be making videos? Thank you for maintaining your integrity and providing this information for us all.
coolant? dont know because when you start getting coolant in your engine it usually blows up after that but i would expect it to crisp up and just cause more blockage
Just came across this old video. Man, you come a long way. Your videos are always entertaining and educational but man the quality is gotten a lot better over the years. Keep it up man
How about some physical alterations, for instance: adding more sparkplugs or making a controllable turbo to power through more dense areas of brush/wet grass?
Project Farm More spark plugs might be interesting. In aircraft engines , they have 2 per cylinder with separate magnetos. On a test run, you set the revs to 2000 and turn off a mag and the revs drop about 100 rpms. Turn them both back on and it comes back to 2000. So yea, that might be interesting.
with comparisons like this, could you also show results from the competitors from your previous videos along side with what you are testing? just makes it easier to compare all these different brands.
I can see that you made an honest effort to make a comparison so I'm not sure what went wrong. Perhaps something to do with the flathead design but I really don't see why. I've used 44k for about 35 years, eventually worked for them for 10 and been using it for 15 now in my own shop. I've looked down numerous spark plug and injector holes directly and with several borescopes. at least one head removal that comes quickly to mind and I've seen firsthand what it can do for injectors, intake valves and combustion chambers by cleaning up carbon deposits. The great thing about being a rep was having my customers, professional shops, come to me with "miracle stories" of how 44k cleaned carbon, straightened out injection/driveability issues and increased compression. Very rewarding. The msds does not tell the whole story. The active ingredient is polyetheramine which breaks down the bond that gum and varnish have on carbon. Some years ago they added another ingredient that increases the speed that the p.e.a. works. Neither of these show up on the msds.
Great Videos! I've spent way more time watching them than I would like to admit but at least I feel just a little bit smarter after every one of them! I know you get tons of suggestions on videos but one I would like to see is Seafoam vs. some of its cheaper "generic" versions such as SuperTech motor treatment, Harvest King motor treatment, etc. Just looking at sticker price Seafoam seems to range from $7-$12 per can and some of the other alternatives that are sitting on the shelf next to it at Walmart or wherever are usually around $5 for the same size bottle that looks similar but with a different logo. Is it the same stuff but re-branded? or is it less effective than the expensive stuff? Would like to hear your thoughts but most of all, keep up the great work!
From what I could see, I didn't think it helped at all! Both before and after photos looked the same! Again thanks for your testing, I've learned a bunch from it and have learned what not to buy and what I should used!
Could you test BG MOA and EPR too? Also dynamic flush if possible. I believe Seafoam is the best. Thanks! You are the only reliable product purchase guide source that we trust!
I went to school in 1994 (examen} and what we learned about carbon buildup is that if the engine burning to cold, there WILL BE carbon build up. That is because the constant cooldown from in air makes the piston cooler in an sertain area(your picture) and the sylinder head aprox in the same area (your picture). I do.nt know of any metode to give the engine the extra heat it maybe need for avoiding carbon buildup. Those small engine is May not the most acurite instrument. I Will say it is more interesting to give som larger engine a chanse in your test for additivs
I also love that he cares enough to respond to people’s comments but I love the go kart video I would bring that in a little more it’s just something different to test on and can help with keeping things from getting dull I would like to see test on that and more on the automobiles
Adnan Mlivo GENTLEMEN! Welcome back to the shop! Today - a treat especiale: we're gonna run some magical schmoo through this briggs & scrap iron stone flinger what fer seein' how well she chooches afterwards!
44k is THE BEST when used correctly with fuel injection cleaner system. Ive seen it make a ford f150 ,that sat for 10 years misfiring ,bad run like new. Bg makes great products. Theres a reason professionals like me (a.s.e. tech) use it.
I had a 1982 Mazda RX7 with the 12A rotary engine, the engine had appeared to have seized apex seals from sitting for a long time, it would not turn over and a breaker bar on the crank bolt did nothing. I used a large can of Marvel, let it sit overnight then used the breaker bar again. To my amazement it broke free almost immediately and I ran that little rotary engine for another 100,000 miles before the internal water jacket broke.
You sir make some awesome content every time you make a video me and the whole side my block put up a projector in the baseball field to watch you even though half the family's only understand Spanish. From old to young we people from Columbia support you 😀
Thank you very, very much for the positive comments. The thought of making content that others enjoy really keeps me motivated. Please say "thank you" on my behalf to all of those who watch the videos and best wishes. Sincerely, Project Farm
After watching so many of your videos I realize that I really just need to do your power drill starter mod, it’s the best. I like watching all these additives and how they perform but that’s the thing I’m the most intrigued by.
Awesome and very educational videos as always, I went to my shop to work and ended up watching a dozen of your videos instead of working and it was time well spent, thank you.
It doesn't seem like you know what 44k is used for. It is a fuel system cleaner. BG makes very specific products for very specific jobs. They don't make an "all in one" product. If you wanted to get rid of those carbon deposits you would use their GDI intake valve cleaner. If you wanted to try to raise compression you would use their EPR product in the oil, get the oil hot, change the oil, and run their EPC product in with the fresh oil. I see nothing but results using BG products in my shop. You had expectations for 44K that it wasn't designed to accomplish.
Aaron, I greatly appreciate the constructive feedback and I don't doubt that BG makes a product that's better for combustion chamber cleaning. My objective is to test the claims made by these manufacturers. Their website doesn't say what you've said. It says it vanquishes deposits in combustion chambers. Here's the quote: "BG 44K® is 11 ounces of high quality detergents and additives that you pour right into the gas tank to restore performance and gas mileage. It vanquishes deposits in combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves and restores flow in fuel injectors. Basically, it cleans the entire fuel system!" . Had their website not made this claim, I wouldn't have used the product in this manner. Thanks again.
As a former mechanic that also used their products, the can also says "For professional use". 44K is designed to clean in a tank of fuel, and usually as an end of a three part cleaning process, customers are instructed to run the treated tank of fuel as low as they can for maximum results. Just saying your testing methods will not produce accurate results, although your videos are still interesting.
As pretty much what everyone else has said Todd your video are straight to the point.. I really enjoy watching them... they are very informative... Much like a consumer reports magazine.. you make it very simple to understand..thanks
I tend to mix additives. Marvel is good at softening carbon so I also mix in something to dissolve it after that. Sometimes I'll run a tank of one, and then a tank of the other. Apparently due to competition the gas companies have started multiple-purpose blending of additive packages at the pump! Exxon advertises that it has a softener and an emollient in it now!
akbychoice carbon. Think of it like industrial dish washing chemicals. There's stuff that makes carbon softer so it can slough off more easily and then there's stuff that just dissolves it altogether. Just dissolving large pieces of a substance can take time, as it would have to only work in the surface. A softener can soak j to something and cause it to break all the way off in chunks. Combining both can soak the dissolving chemical in once a large deposit is softened and help dissolve it from the inside-out.
Just thought I'd share a comment since this video has helped me with preventive maintenance with my 2021 Trail Boss Lt. Cheers from Ft Benning sir! Thanks for your craft, intellectual capacity and helping people even some Army guys hahaha thank you again!
BG 44K solved the problem along with no alcohol gas. I had tried seafoam and no help. It went to the shop twice. They cleaned the carburetor and everything checked out. It worked for about two mows and it started acting up again after the engine was warm. The shop gave up. BG 44K solved the problem. Will see this summer when it is really hot and the grass is longer and thicker.
Restore is another one that's not snake oil. I've used it on various cars/trucks and small engines. In a car you can feel the results at usually 2-400 miles. Good stuff
Don't use it on motorcycles with a wet clutch, it makes the plates stick together. Even after several oil changes; the plates needed to be replaced in order to restore normal clutch action.
Okay so 44k is not meant to be used as a drip feed, it is a fuel system cleaner. If you want to clean the intake ports, valves, and piston by artificial injection try their induction service product.
Hi, I am going to try this in my Ford Crown Victoria; I took off the throttle body and cleaned it with a BG product; and it DOES clean quite well. I ordered some 44k and will try it. I have 98,000 miles on this car and I take very nice car of it. I noticed my fuel mileage dropped off and one of the culprits according to Ford dealer is a dirty throttle body and dirty MAF sensor in the intake plenum. I would like to see you test these products on a truck or car instead of lawn equipment. Love your videos!! Thank you!
I feel like none of these results are super impressive. They kinda knock it off the top, but I am always expecting bright shiny metal and am disappointed.
I will unsubscribe if you ever decide to be one of the 5 billion power tool testers. You're mostly unique in your approach- keep it that way. Be a pioneer.
This is a great point. I've turned down all offers for free items. I have agreed to allow a few viewers to send me products that want an independent test.
I recall Hot Rod magazine promoting water injection during the fabulous spark knocking days of the fuel crunch 70’s when Detroit was caught unprepared to make fuel efficient cars other than make them thinner with more plastic and chopping output by the pound! I remember three guys pushing a Vega out of a snow bank resulted in a trip to the body shop, a strong car wash could wrinkle a fender. Water injection was the answer and purported to add life, performance and drivability to your car while eliminated “spark knock” all the while keeping internal engine parts amazingly clean as evidenced by tear down issues in the magazine articles. Who recalls Chrysler’s "Lean Burn" 360 engine making about 35 HP in their Cordoba as presented by Ricardo Montalban? Back then we learned to accept that our new cars would have “a normal amount of misfire” and “the standard rough idle” thanks again EPA!
Really coincidental this popped up in my feed, just started work today at a local dealership in the service bay, and we use one of those empty 44 cans with the lid cut off for a lug nut tin in one of the service carts
I love when title of the video matches perfectly with the content, no unnecessary talking, no clickbaiting, just straight to the point. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you very much for the positive comment. While clickbait is very effective for getting people to watch videos, I'm trying to avoid misleading titles of any sort.
I really like an honest review which isnt tainted by brand loyalty. Thank you! And as always keep up the good work!
you just cant beat it. the thing i hate most is all the unnecessary talking in most yt vids but these videos never have any of that.
We definitely appreciate you avoiding misleading titles. Thank you.
I'm going to down vote this video, I was expecting to be click baited but I was disappointed that the video was short, sweet and simple with nothing but honesty. Thank you.
By far my favorite youtuber
Thank you very much for the positive comment!
Huh??, ima telling Chris Fix what u just said.
Thank you very much for the positive comment!
“In automotive we do not have a problem with carbon..” Have you ever worked on a GDI engine? Seems to be a huge problem.
Do whatever you feel like! your logic, personality, presentation and your consideration of your audience is unmatched!
Thank you very much for the positive comment!
agreed!

Look at how far you’ve come from doing these tests!
Thank you!
I'm pretty sure I've watched all your videos twice or more, you are a credit to youtube as well as the everyday consumer.
Thank you
Thank you very much!
MMO is a great product. Thanks for commenting.
Neighbors probably think he has a lawnmower fetish. Always outside often with different lawnmowers mowing over grass that was recently cut.
LOL! They want me to mow their lawn now. Thanks
Where do you get all the beaten up mowers?
BG 44k in my experience works amazingly concerning dirty carbs, it has a great ability to clean jets and needle seats from ethanol corrosion and damage. I’ve poured a whole can into 1/2 a tank of gas in a Honda CB that had clogged pilot jets and later that day it would idle on its own with no other carb adjustments.

Thank you for this recommendation.
You predicted the future of his channel lol
Thank you!
I have been using BG-44K for over 32 years. My uncle used to own a gas station, in which I worked there. He sold BG-44K from a huge display rack. It worked great then, and it still works great today! Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you!
It's pretty obvious that it doesn't work and it is way overpriced as well.
Your neighbors must think you are crazy for mowing your lawn so much :D
LOL! Yes, they want me to mow their lawn. Thanks
THAT's the way it works, all right!
+Project Farm
Have them pay you by filming!
You must have the best yard off them all. lol
I had the exact same thought lol
Hi there I’m from Israel and we are using BG44K directly as an Infusion to the fuel line near the injector rail
And it’s doing the job good enough because if you want seafoam you need to import it yourself

Alot of people haven't heard of bg. I'm talking to my uncle about a good product for his daughter's cvt trans and I told him bg. He said what's that? That is a problem. Everyone should know about bg. We have a bg guy named Eric. Great product. Spread the word. I shared this video to him.
Mix all three additives and run the engine like
Thank you for this recommendation!
Logan Holbrook yeah bro
Booooom hahaha jk
Logan Holbrook yes that will be the best ideoa
Ruben. Could not agree more. Unless you are a chemist, never mix things that could go boom.
Thanks for providing this information.
My dad had a a 1977 two tone red/gray Murray lawn mower and the same push mower. Brings back childhood memeoires

This is great advice that you've provided. Thank you!

Scotty says SeaFoam doesn't have PEA, so it won't clean like chemicals that do have it.
Lol I love your way of starting lawn mover. I use BG products and I'm very happy with all of them. My car turned into Duracell battery. It just keeps going an going and going for 21 years and around 200k miles now with just basic maintenance like fluids, sparkplugs changes no major repairs.
Thanks for sharing.
BG makes some great products. They also make a upper intake cleaner that drips in through a vacuum port.
Love your videos!
Thank you for your demonstration. As a former teacher, I can heartily say you'd make a great one!
Thanks and you are welcome!
Thank you for the video idea!
@@ProjectFarmwas this ever made? Lol
The equipment is just cool sometimes too
Thanks for watching! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion.
My understanding is BG has the highest PEA content on the market, with their newer platinum having an even higher PEA than the well known BG44k.
@@MBE-ib3jy who knows. non of them release the levels.. unless someone actually tests them by lab and compare we will never know
Could you post the pictures of the before and after with Seafoam, Marvel, and BG 44k?
I want that too lol
As I remember he always posts before and after just not in a compiled format perhaps he could if he's asked nicely LOL. 🤪🤔👌👍😄😃.

I have been a mechanic for years. I have used both for years I tend to keep the BG stuff for my Auto/diesel stuff, and the seafoam for mowers and smaller things. but yes they work. Thanks for another awesome video.

I have never herd of bg 44k until this video. Thank you for doing a review on it.
Thanks for commenting.
I love watching channels like this grow, great job on the videos my friend. keep em coming

BG 44 brought me here. I am thinking of buying it and this is the video that came up. Good work!
Thank you for the feedback
I've used bg44k fuel injector cleaner. I got amazing results, like the throttle became more responsive, and felt the car got faster. The rpm went higher compared to before using the bg44k.
I highly recommend it but the price is a bit too much.
Thanks for sharing
Daaaaamn watching this after seeing more recent videos from Project Farm. Todd has come a long way.
Thanks!
@@ProjectFarm no problem. Should have figured I'd get a response. You have some impressive response ability.

Awesome suggestions--this helps and thank you!
I picked a can of this randomly up today because I felt like my engine just wasn't it's normal self and with a price tag like $27, it makes a good video to see someone else buy it and do a couple experiments on it!
Thanks for the feedback.
It would be interesting to see if it would improve the spray pattern of old injectors or remove the varnish from a carb. People say it’s the best fuel system cleaner out there. I also think it would be a good idea to to run the entire can over a few days allowing the product to soak in the system.
Great suggestion! Thank you.
i dont know if in the old movies they did, but in the last one of Mad Max, people sprayed fuel directly into the air intake to give boost. i am 99'9999999999999999...% sure that it's a lie but would like to see you trying that
Thank you for this recommendation!
Since their carbureted engines with super chargers I would think it would flood the engine with too much gas
might have been meth injection
Thanks. Thanks for sharing.
Did you see any improvements as a carb cleaner?
Very cool, I've never heard of bg 44k. Seems like it didn't work as well as seafoam. 😊
I agree. Seafoam and Marvel both seem to work better. Thanks for commenting.
Project Farm I know that some people like to draw their own conclusions but I personally would like to hear more of your personal opinion at the end of your videos. While I'm no stranger to a small engine you certainly have more experience than I do and I'd like to hear your thoughts.
I never trust an edited comment.......
I have never heard of that either and now I think I know why and at 22 bucks a can I'm shocked with the lack of reasults.
I'd like to point attention to Ryan Grisham's comment-
"Project Farm I know that some people like to draw their own conclusions but I personally would like to hear more of your personal opinion at the end of your videos. While I'm no stranger to a small engine you certainly have more experience than I do and I'd like to hear your thoughts."

Thanks for the feedback.
Part #109.
Thank you for this recommendation!
Yea there is a big chemical specifically for top engine cleaner. The 44k is more for a preventative cleaner more than to clean the carbon build up. Great test though. Great video
so for leaky injectors or stuck ones mostly recommend seafoam??
Hi, I don't know if someone else say this before, but can you run an engine only with brake cleaner instead of gas? greatings from Germany 👍 nice videos

i dont think hydraulic fluid will combust like a fuel. could make an excellent engine cleaner.
I second brake cleaner always was told it washes cylinder walls
Thank you for the hard work you do for all. I truly trust your input and buy stuff accordingly. I was always big on Consumer Report and since you showed up, it's only you!

I use the 44k all the time at work as part of an induction cleaning service. There is also an intake/throttle body cleaner and a fuel injector cleaner in the 3 pack that comes with the service. You should get a can of the BG intake cleaner and see what that does for the carbon.
Thank you for this recommendation!
Steven Nicholls 'll
I'd like to see the effects of using one of these products daily, like within every tank for a prolonged time
Thank you for this recommendation.

Great results. One of my favorite cleaners. Try the bg 44k platinum now. It's even stronger.
Great suggestion! Thank you.
Still interested in seeing how ethylene glycol would work in cleaning carbon. I expect it would beat all the others.
Thank you for this recommendation. I plan to test it in the future.
coolant? dont know because when you start getting coolant in your engine it usually blows up after that but i would expect it to crisp up and just cause more blockage
I agree. Engines with small head gasket leaks always have super clean combustion chambers in the effected cylinders.
Coolant gets all the carbon off. Squeaky clean pistons and valves.
refusemyname that's from the water/ steam not the glycol.
Just came across this old video. Man, you come a long way. Your videos are always entertaining and educational but man the quality is gotten a lot better over the years. Keep it up man
Thanks, will do!
How about some physical alterations, for instance: adding more sparkplugs or making a controllable turbo to power through more dense areas of brush/wet grass?
Thank you for this recommendation!
Project Farm
More spark plugs might be interesting.
In aircraft engines , they have 2 per cylinder with separate magnetos.
On a test run, you set the revs to 2000 and turn off a mag and the revs drop about 100 rpms.
Turn them both back on and it comes back to 2000.
So yea, that might be interesting.
Dethadder I love you for thinking of ways to hot rod an old lawnmower!
Hello just started doing the work on my car myself and i love your videos. Thank you for keeping it real.
My pleasure!
with comparisons like this, could you also show results from the competitors from your previous videos along side with what you are testing? just makes it easier to compare all these different brands.
Thank you for this recommendation!
Thank you for the constructive feedback.
Thank you!
From what I could see, I didn't think it helped at all! Both before and after photos looked the same! Again thanks for your testing, I've learned a bunch from it and have learned what not to buy and what I should used!
You're welcome!
Could you test BG MOA and EPR too? Also dynamic flush if possible. I believe Seafoam is the best. Thanks! You are the only reliable product purchase guide source that we trust!
Thanks for the suggestions!

Impressive! Thanks for sharing this experience.

I think Mark makes a valid point here.
As pretty much what everyone else has said Todd your video are straight to the point.. I really enjoy watching them... they are very informative...
Much like a consumer reports magazine.. you make it very simple to understand..thanks
Thank you very much!
Would you make a video with Chrishfix?
Yes, but Chrisfix has a very impressive channel, far larger than mine, and I doubt he'd be interested. Thank you for this idea!
What if you mix seafoam and marvel mystery oil or any other additives together? Would it preform better than the additives alone?
Thank you for this recommendation!
Shepherdess to soften what?
akbychoice carbon.
Shepherdess k I thought maybe it was to soften seals to make them last longer or something like that. Thanks for clarifying.
Mowing the lawn like a boss. It's just a normal sunny day out here trying out these products with my skeptical self

Thanks for the feedback.
Have you tried the cylinder restore stuff that comes in 4/6/8 cylinder cans?
Yes and it actually improved the compression in my Ford tractor. There is a video I put together on it. Thanks
Evan Stapleton I don't know how or why, but using Restore in an old Samurai 4 cyl kept it from smoking, true story.
Worlds biggest secret
I love the clear cylinder head that you made 😀
Thanks!

Thank you!
Thanks! Thanks for the suggestion.
I feel like none of these results are super impressive. They kinda knock it off the top, but I am always expecting bright shiny metal and am disappointed.

Thanks for commenting on this. I enjoy the engine testing a lot.
yes even worse is when they get them for free and say its not paid sponsorship....
This is a great point. I've turned down all offers for free items. I have agreed to allow a few viewers to send me products that want an independent test.
I recall Hot Rod magazine promoting water injection during the fabulous spark knocking days of
the fuel crunch 70’s when Detroit was caught unprepared to make fuel efficient
cars other than make them thinner with more plastic and chopping output by the
pound! I remember three guys pushing a Vega out of a snow bank resulted in a trip to the body shop, a strong car wash
could wrinkle a fender. Water injection was the answer and purported to add life, performance and drivability to your
car while eliminated “spark knock” all the while keeping internal engine parts amazingly clean as evidenced by tear down issues in the magazine articles. Who recalls Chrysler’s "Lean Burn" 360 engine making about 35 HP in their
Cordoba as presented by Ricardo Montalban?
Back then we learned to accept that our new cars would have “a normal amount of misfire” and “the standard rough idle” thanks again EPA!
Thank you
I've got a car with bad valve seals so it smokes on startup. Something to use that will reduce the smoking? Restore or condition the seals?
Have you tried using a "high mileage" oil? They contain conditioners that might help.
Try BG RF7 or BG MOA. Both are oil additives. I've used them with great success.
Did you see how clean that valve was??
Use a high mileage oil to expand the gaskets/seals. If you replace the seals, switch back to normal oil.
@@bgphilippines8318 Which valve?
Really coincidental this popped up in my feed, just started work today at a local dealership in the service bay, and we use one of those empty 44 cans with the lid cut off for a lug nut tin in one of the service carts

Nope, overpriced snake oil. When I rebuild am engine I soak the cylinders in marvel to keep them from rusting and for startup
