Thank you Scotty. I used that purple max cleaner on my 2008 highlander hybrid. I kept getting pinging when accelerating coming from a stop. I was upset at my mechanic because I did a tune up recently. Then, I remembered you talking about these products. So I headed to my auto store. Spent $20 and crossed my fingers. We can thank bureaucratic government agencies, the WEF, and a bunch of central bankers for driving everything at automotive manufacturers absolutely bonkers (massive increase in complexity, technology changing constantly, computers doing almost everything, fuel economy agenda so strict that stupid measures are taken to get it). Back in the 80's and 90's things changed so much more slowly and mechanics could keep on top of it.

This is my second time watching this episode. Still learning… As a teenager I should’ve gone to a tech academy. Now at age 56 I am learning so much! Being a female, I figured I’d marry a mechanic of sorts. Nope. My hubby is not mechanically inclined. So, it’s my son and I. He watches and learns online and I am the bank to use for parts. Because of you, we are in such better shape financially. Thank You for taking time out of your life to help middle class people learn how to survive in this expensive world. You are appreciated beyond adequate words for your advice and honesty. Sincerely, Lisa, Jimmy and my hubby who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons (like lack of mechanical skills and embarrassment for that reason and forgetting to check the oil often enough and other important fluids).

Lack of mechanical skills is not necessarily an embarrassment. Some people have other things on their mind that keeps their full attention. The myriad details of auto maintenance takes energy away from things that are more important to some people. It's like great writers who can't spell or have poor grammatical skills. They leave all simple, basic ,details to their secretary. Hemingway(as many writers do) left spelling and grammar for his secretary to deal with. Cleaning airflow sensors is equivalent to correcting misspelling or improper grammar.

Regarding the Lucas XMSN Stop Slip: I have an 04 Camry that after I bought it around 280K miles the transmission started making a slight clunk between gears; more often in the summer when fluid was obviously most hot/viscous during the year. Pretty sure the previous owner hadn't changed the fluid much. I drained almost half of the old fluid out and put Lucas Stop Slip in and it's still running at 305K with zero clunking! Will post back here to let you know when it does start to have problems! Pretty impressed with this stuff.

Scotty, you're ALWAYS my life saver when it comes to trusted information that no other mechanic can give me. I was gifted a 2010 Scion xb. Previous owner was a female college student. Car had 205k miles on it. Discovered the following- no tune up, or regular maintenance was ever done on the car. Car shortly had a code for the torque converter. Took Scotty's advice for the Lucus trans fix while also doing a trans service on the car. Holy moly does the Lucus Trans fix work. Transmission loved having the very black fluid removed and the mucky magnet cleaned up too. Now time to clean up the injectors and the engine. This car is losing a quart of oil every week. Fingers crossed 🤞 these additives work to save me from losing oil and gas mileage.

I've always been untrusting of a mechanic in a can but I'm a old dog who has learned a new trick. The MPH on my 2016 Mazda CX5 started dropping off a tad. Not enough for any codes . Changed air filter and at 115,000 KM it was time to change the plugs as well. Did both without much improvement. Saw this video and tried the Royal Purple. I used a bore scope to check pistons 1 and 4 . Some carbon build up but not excessive. I then added the Royal to a tank of new gas. After 150 KM I checked both pistons and they appear shinny and new. So it does appear to be cleaning something up. My gas mileage has returned to what was expected. I suspect my injectors needed a cleaning. I know it's not a fixall for everything but in this case it addressed my issue. Thanks Scottie..😊

I love watching his videos for two reasons.
    1. The amount of facts that he actually knows is amazing.
    2. Every time I see his videos he looks like he's conducting a symphony.

Lucas trans fix is the truth. Ive had slipping trans come in and i do the flush and use 1qt with new fluid and they are good to go. Even a year later ive had customers come back giving praise about how smooth everything is. Lucas products are great.

Thanks for the great vid. I can testify to the magic of Lucas Stop Slip A/T Additive. Worked wonders on my old 1993 3.4L Quad Cam motor with a trash Chevy transmission that was slipping at 60-70 MPH. Highly recommend Stop Slip! As always, super useful info. And love your sense of humor anyway! Keep it up!

I had an uncle who was a diesel mechanic in the Navy. He said they poured kerosene into the crankcase oil, how much I don't remember, ran it for several minutes, then changed the oil. The idea was to clean the engine of deposits. Btw, this was back in WW ll. Navy requirements by the book.

be very careful when you do that- it will loosen stuff that can damage your motor. some guys use marvel mystery oil for that.

Hi Scotty, I have been watching your videos for years but only recently subscribed. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body but I find find your videos to be fascinating and incredibly informative. I now have a practical reason for following your program. I have a 2015 Hyundai Tucson that completely loses power in 30 C plus weather and under high acceleration. it also emits a rotten egg smell under those conditions. Despite repeated attempts at diagnoses, no mechanic has been able to pinpoint the problem.

These troubleshooting videos are your best stuff. Keep up the good work even though you get dirty with these! I have a 2007 Corolla in my car arsenal so this one was particularly useful.
