    Hey dude, thanks for the review on the Camel two, really interesting to hear on the improved edge hold with the lower 3bt at the back (I have a Goliath, and love it but it isn't the best in harder packed snow). I just picked up a second hand one barely used on ebay 161 size (£165!). I'm 6'1" 188lb size 11.5US boot so hopefully this should be good. There was a 157 in a sale also that I was tempted by but I want to play with some more forward binding angles so went with the 161 for the extra width.
    This will be the second board for me so wanted something more directional for powder, but also carving (I'm not really interested in park), so stoked on hearing your thoughts on it all. Cheers!

    Hey man, I’m debating the cruiser plus, camel 2 or camel 2 gimble god. Any suggestions? I want something fun that I can cruise around on, use it on tree runs. But I do want to be able to hit a groomer and not worry about slipping out

    My Bataleon Camel-2 made me a better, harder-charging rider. The Camel 2 turns so effortlessly and quick in powder, it’s the perfect board for riding trees IMO.

    great detailed review. Have you ridden Jones hovercraft/ultracraft? how would you compare them. I was looking at Jones for my next directional, pow/carving board but im afraid it will be a bit too stiff for my liking. I think i like a lot of specs similar to you: long EE, large sidecut. but i think having mid flex and help with decambering and making short turns easier. From this, would you recommend any of the board you've ridden? im a small guy at 5'8 135 lbs. thanks

      Honestly the Hovercraft and Ultracraft are definitely more aggressive flex style boards. They both are meant for double duty. Not only powder destroyers, but also very capable of laying down trenches on groomers. My buddy has a Hovercraft. I've watched multiple reviews out there on both boards. Basically it comes down to the Hovercraft being more damp and able to handle more uneven terrain vs the Ultracraft that is said to be more poppy and slightly stiffer. Thr Ultracraft is said to lose absorption capabilities in the rough stuff though. That would be due to the carbon materials shedding weight and adding rigidity (stiffness) but losing organic materials that tend to soak up and absorb unpleasant terrain.
      When it comes to Jones it's very hard to not look at the standout models and want to purchase those. At your weight range I would definitely lean more towards the Flagship vs the Hovercraft/Ultracraft. Dump a little width and gain more maneuverability in pow and groomers. The Flagship does everything amazingly well. Maybe even look at the all new Mind Expander. Definitely slightly softer than the Flagship, but loses groomer power (only slightly) and gains powder performance. For instance if you did purchase the Mind Expander and were looking for something with slightly more groomer performance with the float of the Mind Expander almost, then you go Hovercraft/Ultracraft. Downside of the Hovercraft is its technically slightly on the Volume Shifted style of snowboard side. So you gain powder performance in a shorter length board compared to your standard size, as well as the ability to lean it over on groomers with less boot out. However, in order to achieve this, Volume Shifted boards tend to not be anything short of stiff to very stiff flex wise.
      Crazy option, but hear me out. I would first check out the Jones website. Jones has the best board sizing chart in the industry. You can compare boards within the lineup, as well as read the sizing chart to get a very good idea of the perfect board for your weight, and boot size. The crazy option is to possibly look at the women's Flagship and Hovercraft. Both of those boards look very Unisex and will offer a softer flex for your weight size compared to the men's sizes. That is definitely just an option though. Jones does make a large variety of sizes so I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the men's options, but just in case they're too stiff then possibly look at the women's sizes.

      @@DREWFUSSMAC thanks for the detailed advise! thats a great idea and ill check out the sizes on womens board. But youre right i should still be able to find some mens board that fits might weight range. Really appreciate it! I feel your reviews gave a lot more depth than other reviewers out there. Keep up the great work! subbed.

    Camel Two 153 or 157, is there a real difference in riding? I am 5’8 150 lbs and can buy a 157 at a real discount price… should I buy it?

    • @DREWFUSSMAC
      @DREWFUSSMAC  Год назад +1

      I.m.o you could get away with the 153cm at your weight. At your weight it would be a good daily driver resort board. The only thing the 157cm would offer would be way better float in Pow, more stability at higher speeds, and all around versatility. I am a fan of bigger boards for this reason. The Camel Two is a freeride board and i.m.o should be ridden slightly bigger. I have the 157cm and wish I got the 161cm instead. That just for my specific type of riding though. Definitely gaining something by sizing up. Losing freestyle abilities slightly by sizing up, but then again that is not what the board is meant for.

    I'm 5'11 and 170-175lbs, looking at the camel two as a fun resort pow board. Having a hard time between the 153 and 157, got any advice?

    • @DREWFUSSMAC
      @DREWFUSSMAC  2 года назад +1

      Definitely the 157cm in my opinion. To me having a 153cm at your specs has no benefits. It's not a park board, you will lose stability at high speeds, and it will not float as well.

    What boards do you have that carve better than the Stealth?

    • @DREWFUSSMAC
      @DREWFUSSMAC  2 года назад

      Definitely my Burton 3D Double Dog, Nidecker Gun come to mind. Just rode the Yes 20/20 for a few days on some pretty firm snow and it held amazing. Definitely likes short quick radius carves and not very long drawn out ones, but the grip was slightly better with that midbite tech mixed with camber.
      The main difference is that weight of the Korua vs other boards. That weight really does help when you get into that carving rhythm, and will be an advantage if you know how to tame the beast. Even that Camel Two on good snow will definitely hang with the Stealth, plus is way lighter underfoot with almost identical performance.
      I do have the Nitro Cannon 203cm and that is the most grip I've ever felt on a snowboard. It should be though due to the sidecut, the camber, the flex, and the effective edge. That is slightly cheating to compare that board to others because it just has a clear advantage spec wise. I'm looking forward to busting out my new Ride Smokescreen very soon because I think that board will be a carving powerhouse as well based off the specs. It's basically a more approachable Ride Commissioner with not as beefy materials. Hope that helps or answers your question.

      @@Jrod32391 I have not ridden it yet. I just scooped my first Ride board this season. I went with a Ride Smokescreen. There are a lot of things I'm loving about the board that is pretty baseline to a lot of higher end Ride boards. Specifically the Carbon Slim Walls and the Double Impact Plates. The dampening qualities this provides is very impressive. Based off the specs it looks like a fun, fast, and solid carving board that can provide you with quick fast carves, as well as the ability to go wide and take some long drawn out carves all over a wide open area. The shape screams nice powder performance. The width is just wide enough to provide extra powder performance without being too wide and becoming sluggish for average size boots. Overall it looks like a fun board, but has the ability to entertain advanced riders who want to push it to its limits. I dig it.👍

    Camel 2 better than the party wave+ ?

    • @DREWFUSSMAC
      @DREWFUSSMAC  2 года назад +1

      In my opinion, it's wayyyyyyyy better. So much more versatile, responsive, and built for more of a freeride normal spec rider. The Party Wave is just too wide for people with size 11 boots and under. The board is meant for larger boot riders to get the most out of it. Otherwise, if you're 11 and under the board just feels sluggish and honestly not scoring points in the fun factor. The width is great for stomping landings, and for people who think extremely wide boards are cool because you can size down. To me, these extreme volume shifted boards are just not fun for fast pow riding, tight trees, groomer performance, and technical mogul riding for size 11 and under. All boxes for my size 10 boots check off negative performance for such a huge waste width. Some people say they love the Party Wave at more average boot sizes. I've owned 20 or so boards in total over the years. The Bataleon Party Wave Plus is my least favorite board I've ever owned.

    • @ODBracer
      @ODBracer 2 года назад +1

      Good to know. I’m a size 10 boot as well and love how the PW+ can just bomb and blast through anything but the turning experience isn’t very fun. If the powder performance is as good on the C2 as the PW+ then I might trade them out. But I do love how stable the party wave is its just not agile.

      @@ODBracer I would suggest switching out for sure. If you want pure powder performance with decent groomer grip go for the Thunder. If you want really good powder performance and even better groomer grip go for the Camel Two.👍

      @@DREWFUSSMAC Hello, I am a 36 yo snowboarder from france, i've been riding a full twin santa cruz freestyle pro model for too long. I enjoy more and more carving, pow, back country mostly, and wanted a board which suited more this practice. I got interested in the 3bt thing and after a huge hesitation I chose the Thunder over the Camel 2. I haven't tried it yet. I tought the thunder looked maybe more versatile (coming from from a loong full twin rider). Well, as nobody seems to review the thunder, I'm interested you mention it. You seems yo say the camel two is the more versatile of the two, am I right ?

    • @DREWFUSSMAC
      @DREWFUSSMAC  2 года назад +1

      @@charlesdufranc9708 in my opinion that would be narrowed down to what you hold true to versatility. It's really hard to make a choice on to which one is more versatile to me. The Thunder will provide you with a more pro performance freestyle ride. The ability to really lay into it, and it provide you with feedback while freestyle riding. Not just being a pushover noodle or something that you can be sloppy with. Although the 3BT will provide you with that forgiveness if you make some mistakes. The Thunder will let you down slightly on edge hold in hard snow, but holds its own on edge in fairly good snow for sure. The powder performance is the advantage point. The freedom and ease The Thunder handles in powder is the shining point for the board. Combined with the great glide Bataleon bases offer, as well as the 3BT and you will hopefully notice the benefits of the boards construction.
      The Camel Two is more of a groomer specialist while still flaunting its 3BT characteristics. The Camel Two in my opinion is basically just a more approachable Bataleon Carver. It's more flexible than the Carver, but still offers decent dampening on chunder and uneven snow. Again, great base glide and has a nice lightweight construction that can be decently playful when you want it. Definitely can be manipulated and switch into a hard charging mode when you want it as well. It is not a slouch in powder by any means, but it is slightly less Bataleon 3BT feeling in powder compared to a lot of boards throughout the line. The Thunder handles pow significantly better over the Camel Two i.m.o. Let it be known that the Camel Two is a amazing powder board.
      It's a pick your poison kind of deal. Both boards are amazing and I thoroughly enjoy the different rides they both offer. If you want true versatility I think my only suggestion would be to own both of them honestly.🤣

      Between the lightweight and flex rating of the board you can ride it very well at that size with your specs. Not sure what kind of board you're coming from, but she will take you for a small ride if you don't bring your A Game starting out. Slow slow speeds are not your friend with these kinds of sidecuts. Stay low, open areas, and long carves/turns in the beginning will get you familiar with it pretty fast. You got it!🤘
