We introduced our first original intro song! Watch until the end to hear a longer version of it! We'll probably keep making new ones for fun :) Also, the website is down so I'll be posting Drew's music theory here when it's ready.
The Clansman, Live , Rock in Rio 2001, is the live song that Pam will Love..., Metal is not only about fast , heavy, complex music.., it's a lot more about the camaraderie , the synchronicity between Band and Crowd..., Iron Maiden and 260, 000 of their closest Friends educating the world on having fun.... with Metal...., never been a Band that makes Fans feel part of , well, The Band, like iron Maiden does...., cheers, my 2 cents....
Do the Clansman, or Rime of the ancient mariner. Both of you will probably have a good experience with Iron Maiden. I know she'll probably "getting turned off" like the Gojira videos, but i hope you do give her more analysis about what the song telling like lyrics description or etc. Trust me, it will be a greatexperience.
Awesome story about Iron Maiden. When my little girl was still to young to talk she was getting fussy in her car seat her mother was like "I can't figure out what's wrong with her?" I said "watch and learn". I popped out her Puff Daddy CD put in Maidens The Trooper and she quit crying and was sitting back there bobbing her little head.
Yes, Iron Maiden are a True Heavy Metal Band. And Have Done it for over 40 years. With Very limited mainstream acknowledgment or Airplay. And They have done it Very Well.. They still pack stadiums to this Day.. While nearing or into there 60’s. They are One of the most influentail and Respected Heavy Metal Bands of All Time.. They earned every bit of their Legendary Status... And Continue to gain Fans as they are heard by Young and Old alike. They are a Perfect choice when looking to awake anyone to the genre that holds, the greatest percentage of the most Talented and Technical Musicians on earth, by Far... And Maiden are put in the top 5 Greatest Metal Bands of All Time, by nearly every Metal fan, or poll put out...Ever... Their Live Shows are Epic.. They do not disappoint. And when accessible Live is the best way to truly experience IRON MAIDEN even if just on video. If not in person.... Their extensive Catalog is far Beyond most If not All other Bands of any Genre. I think I rambled Enough.. A couple suggestions and I'm Out... "Where Eagles Dare" "Flight of the Icarus" "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" "Wasted Years"
'Eddie' started out as just a featureless white mask that hung above the band that spewed smoke. Thast was the extent of their pyrotechnics back in the club days. So it was jokingly dubbed 'Eddie the 'ed' (British slang for 'head') Of course, he has evolved enormously as the band's signature image over the years. The band loved it because it meant that they didn't have to appear on the covers. And metal bands, by and large, are usually pretty ugly.
Apparently, they used to use a lot of blood capsules and an aquarium pump to make the mask spew blood. Unfortunately, it kept spewing blood all over drummer Clive Burr. RIP
One thing you will notice about Iron Maiden is that a lot of their songs tell a story. Founder and bassist Steve Harris, singer Bruce Dickinson and even guitarists Dave Murray and Adrian Smith take stories, poems and historical figures and make songs out of them. I recommend Hallowed be thy Name, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Flash of the Blade, Flight of Icarus, To Tame a Land, Mother Russia and Alexander the Great as your next songs. Great video guys, have a great weekend 😊
Great reaction. Iron Maiden started it all for me. From the minute I heard "Number of the Beast" I was hooked. Infinite Dreams Where Eagles Dare Flight of Icarus
Another reason Iron Maiden didn't get a lot of radio play is that their songs tended to be longer and radio stations like shorter songs, they can get more commercials in
I was 14 or 15 when I’d went to an amusement park in Ohio (I think it was Kings Island) and saw Eddie as The Trooper on a t-shirt and I was mesmerized, I got the albums and I’ve been a fan ever since... almost 35 years... You have to do “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” for the live song... Nothing comes close to it! All the best and keep up the great work!
Hi there. Thanks for this reaction. So true and honoust. I love it when people speak out of the heart about what they think and feel, like you guy's do. Iron Maiden has , and always will be a part of my life. Their music, ambiance and non complex additude have been the things that made me a fan. I did see them opening for KISS , back in 1980 here in the Netherlands. I was hooked and seen them now 48 times Great how you talk and think about Maiden. Please do a reaction to : Fear of the Dark, Hallowed be thy Name, Children of the Damned or The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Greets from Holland \m/
Eddie started out as a piece of plywood back of the stage. They named him Eddie because he was an 'ead (British for Head) and he became Eddie. Derrick Riggs breathed life into Eddie for the first album and continued for some time as the band's artist. For Nightwish you have to listen to them with their first singer Tarja Turunen. For Megadeth Symphony of Destruction is a great song. Primal Fear When Death Comes Knocking, Hammerfall Stronger Than All and Rainbow Gates of Babylon.
Another 8! I am not an Iron Maiden expert so I will leave all of the info to those who are. They were just one of the biggest bands when I was a kid and even my kids like them now. Good call by Pamela on the Twisted Sister comment. Dee Snider the singer from TS was one of the main artists to go to battle against the PMRC in the 80s. Now we just have to find a song that moves her completely. 🤔
Singer and main lyricist Bruce Dickinson is a true renaissance man. A champion fencer, a qualified airline pilot and a devotee of classic literature and poetry. He brings that literary perspective to many of Maiden's songs. Check out the documentary FLIGHT 666 to see the story of how Maiden mounted a massive tour using their own converted 747. Piloted by none of the than Bruce Dickinson himself.
i actualy like what i hear this woman to say, she is really try to understand and focus on lyrics and understanding them, she listen music and try to analyse it well, this is how you should listen music.
I got a tattoo of Eddie, the trooper. Iron Maiden is a legendary band hands down. Sabaton has a lot of songs dealing with historic stories. Sabaton Primo Victoria is about D-Day. You should check that out or their song The Hammer Has Fallen.
Iron maiden was one of my first Including metallica and oldschool ones like black sabbath My parents and grandparents introduced me to them (and a bunch of rock bands as well) Soon iron maiden became my favourite band And then I started to listen and discover more and more metal Some harder stuff It went so naturaly From metallica to megadeth and so on So I think iron maiden is a good starting point to make you like other bands and subgenres With time ofc Good luck
Yes maiden does that, wasted years is an Intense song lyrically but the way they deliver it sounds like its a happy song, if you just read some of their lyrics you will be surprised that people even write about such stuff anymore. They have tough complex long songs too it's just that these ones were their break through songs.
You guys HAVE to watch the "Live After Death" DVD, filmed live over 2 nights in California at the pinnacle of their career, the song choices, stage sets, pyro, lighting are amazing! One of the best live shows ever filmed.
An 8 for the Trooper is fair, i would personally give it a 9 just for the lyrics, the main riff gets a bit repetitive, but the solo absolutely kicks ass, and Bruce absolutely kills it.
I'm a 50 yr old truck driver that loves Iron Maiden & I listen to them on the road often. Nicko McBrain, Iron Maiden's drummer has his own bbq restaurant in Coral Springs Fl, & he lives in Coral Springs part time. And when he's not on tour with Maiden...HE ACTUALLY WORKS & SERVES HIS GUESTS AT THIS RESTAURANT!!! I've been by the restaurant but I can never find a place to park my truck...BUT I WILL EAT THERE SOON!!!
Some German power metal... Well... Some way between symphonic and power metal... AVANTASIA. Songs like The Scarecrow, Ghost in the Moon, Lucifer, Let The Storm Descent Upon You, Where Clock Hands Freeze, Shelter From The Rain or Reach Out For The Light. This band is also great performing live. The creative mind is Tobias Sammet, and they have invited singers on every album and on almost every single song. Also she might appreciate Unisonic, songs like Exceptional, For the Kingdom, or Your Time has Come are wie great. The singer is Michael Kiske, which was lead singer for Helloween in the 80s until the 90s. Most metal fans know his voice quite well.
Hallowed Be Thy Name and Infinite Dreams are 10. Tears of a Dragon is Bruce's solo song she may really love this song. Children of the Damned is another amazing one - I saw them live a couple summers ago and they played this and it was so good not even in their prime! If you're going to do a live performance PLEASE Hallowed Be Thy Name from Beast Over Hammersmith. Absolutely my favorite performance.
Iron Maiden are the real deal. Not to hard not to soft, just perfect. PS, you have a really nice girlfriend there, treat her right good buddy.... Much Love
Nice. I've been waiting for this. Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot...let her run with it... 4:15...hmm how to say this...Metal was an underground unrecognized art form at first...if I remember right, '86 was the first Grammy award for Metal. I think with the fans of the genre who happen to be younger, this is a source of some confusion. ...but back then we called this Metal. 5:44...yes and yes. The U.S. was especially more conservative at that time and the Metal genre starts in the U.K. with, for some Metal fans, Black Sabbath only and for the rest of us Metal fans, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple...all from the U.K. 8 is great. There's a lot of Metal out there. All kinds of different flavors!
Eddie's creator, Derek Riggs, handled the artwork for each Iron Maiden album, including every single released throughout the 1980s and including 1990's "A Prayer for the Dying."
Iron Maiden - when the wild wind blows I think she'll like these bands as well Dio Black Sabbath / with Dio Queensryche Vol - Beat Judas Priest Evergrey Disturbed Scorpions Metallica
The flow and commentary of this reaction is the best I’ve seen from your previous videos. Entertaining 19 minutes with you two! Jordan let’s shoot for Pamela giving Iron Maiden a 9 on the next reaction. Pamela for the next reaction I recommend a refreshing tequila sunrise 👍🏼
They're British. His full name is Eddie the 'ed, or in American Eddie the Head. In the early days at the clubs, they had a head made of Eddie that would spew blood, but most of the time it just poured out onto the drummer.
I think mascots are named funny names because the bands have a sense of humor. Metallica has a giant statue of the blind lady of justice which they called “Doris”, a sort of logo they call “Scary Guy” and Megadeth’s mascot is called “Vic Rattlehead”
Finally someone who is listening to the awesome lyrics of the song. I mean.. The music here is legendary.. But just when you hear and understand the lyrics you can really appreciate steve harris as a song writer and iron as a band. My favorite band! Steve Harris is a fucking genius!
Maiden is Classic Power Metal. They are noted for their galloping bass lines created by Steve Harris, the band's founder, bassist, and heart. They are part of the new wave of British Heavy Metal from the late 70's into the early 80's. Up the Irons! 🤘
Their video of this song was banned by MTV due to them using clips from the Errol Flynn movie "Charge of the light brigade" where horses actually died in the making of that movie. I believe it was Bruce that said "You'd think we actually killed those horses the way they reacted."
you guys should check out Motorhead - ANYTHING but "Ace of Spades" (it's done to death). Maybe try "Overkill", "Orgasmatron", "Back at the Funny Farm" or "I am the Sword"
Twisted Sister was one of the bands targeted by the PMRC, I forget what it stands for but it was politicians wanting to label Metal and rock albums for their lyrics and imagery. Dee Snider, the lead singer for TS went to Washington during the public hearings and testified against the censorship. Two other musicians went to Congress to testify during the hearings, Frank Zappa and John Denver, yes John Denver, lol. Tipper Gore (Al Gore’s wife) headed the PMRC and was surprised by John Denver’s appearance, but John Denver went because he didn’t like the censorship. If you have a chance search the proceedings on RUclips, seeing Dee Snider testifying at congress is worth it, not to mention Dee came across very intelligently. My bit of history for you. Hallowed Be Thy Name should be your next song to checkout
It's about one of Britain's worst military blunders. The light Brigade were an elite calvery unite that due to confused orders on the day of the battle charge directly at a well armed well protected Russian battery. The light Brigade were almost completed slaughtered. The political fallout of the disaster is legend. Into the valley of death rode the six hundred... Tennison
Well, since you touch the topic about Nightwish and revisiting them, maybe is a good option to listen to songs where you see the other side of Floor’s singing skills. “Storytime”, “I Want My Tears Back”, and “Wish I had an Angel” are more catchy songs. In the last two, you can hear Marco (bassist) sing. However, beside the music and the lyrics, Nightwish is better known for their live performances, so check the Tampere, Wacken or Wembley versions of the songs.
Nice job of hooking up with the cougar, man. As far as the reaction to this epically awesome track goes, I don't believe for a second that you guys haven't heard this before. Y'all have a good day and good luck on your RUclips channel. All the best from the Mighty Razorback here in the good old USA.
Damn this song is good... each time is like the first time :D I call this GUITARS SINGING :) Never gonna be at a Super Bowl... not superficial enough...
One that is fairly new to me is Pisces by Jinjer... she might like to hear woman who can sing sweet and have a great death growl and see how somethings really different can be tied together and the musicians are fantastic as well
The US had the largest and most productive metal scene on earth back then. Maiden enjoyed huge success in America. The charts mean nothing. They still sold a lot of records and pulled in big crowds here.
We introduced our first original intro song! Watch until the end to hear a longer version of it! We'll probably keep making new ones for fun :) Also, the website is down so I'll be posting Drew's music theory here when it's ready.

Metal Convert “Eddie” the dying corpse!
Metal Convert you’re a Maiden convert. And a metal convert
Maiden are arguably, the greatest story tellers in ALL of Metal! #UpTheIrons
Maiden tells stories about the past in their songs . Maiden is just an awesome intelligent band.
If you like history in Metal, try Running Wild and Sabaton.
I've always said that Iron Maiden were the greatest storytellers and Metal.
Doing great :) Here's hoping that 'Hallowed be thy name' completes the trilogy
Do you not bother to react to the same songs ? 🤔
Boring... 🙄
Only those who seek reactions to the concert (for first hearing ?) are worse 😎
The Trooper is about the charge of the light brigade during the Crimean War, based on the poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson
Yup. Battle of Balaclava, during the Siege of Sevastopol.

DARKHELMET N DEFIANCE UP THE IRONS!!!
The reason Maiden wasn't huge on the radio is because they never had a song under 3 minutes. Their Albums always came in #1
How did people know about them?
@@metalconvert2324 word of mouth and believe it or not they were a mainstay on MTV in the early years because they had real cool music videos
@@Rhino-hn3jdthey definitely had more radio hits than most bands
Most metal bands I should say
You need to introduce her to DIO, "Don't talk to Strangers" "Last In Line" "Rainbow in the Dark"
i laughed so hard at "suprise no one stole it for a rap song yet"
I think Hallowed be thy name by Iron Maiden would get straight 10
The Clansman live in Rio HD. watch them live please. They are one the number one.
I was there! Rock In Rio 2001!
'Eddie' started out as just a featureless white mask that hung above the band that spewed smoke. Thast was the extent of their pyrotechnics back in the club days. So it was jokingly dubbed 'Eddie the 'ed' (British slang for 'head')

its comes from a very old british joke about a boy born with no body just a head. the punchline his "we called him eddie, eddie the head"
Eddie rules !
The power behind Bruce´s vocas is unmatchable.
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark

Infinite Dreams
Where Eagles Dare
Flight of Icarus
It’s great here Iron Maiden again I heard them live 1984, one of the greatest bands all time
Rime of the ancient mariner- Iron Maiden.
Voice of the soul is a great song that can make anyone appreciate metal guitar.
Another reason Iron Maiden didn't get a lot of radio play is that their songs tended to be longer and radio stations like shorter songs, they can get more commercials in

You guys might like Judicator. They are a smaller band, but they tell stories with their music and are pretty accessible.
Iron maiden is what I like to call theater rock, there's a storyline behind the music, not just screaming and banging guitar,
Dude get her to listen to some Deep Purple.
I suggest Child in Time first.
Sabaton is the key.
Singer and main lyricist Bruce Dickinson is a true renaissance man. A champion fencer, a qualified airline pilot and a devotee of classic literature and poetry. He brings that literary perspective to many of Maiden's songs.

And if they really want to go on a journey, Empire of the Clouds!!!!

Time to classic Judas Priest
Iron maiden was one of my first

And then I started to listen and discover more and more metal
Some harder stuff
It went so naturaly
From metallica to megadeth and so on
So I think iron maiden is a good starting point to make you like other bands and subgenres
With time ofc

Maiden never got air play in the UK either, even when they had a number one single. Yet they fill stadiums all over the world.
Iron Maiden is a fun way to learn history
Rule number 1 of metal... Never, ever talk over a guitar solo on pain of death.
Eddie's creator, Derek Riggs, handled the artwork for each Iron Maiden album, including every single released throughout the 1980s and including 1990's "A Prayer for the Dying."

I would definitely recommend Hallowed Be Thy Name for the round three!
Nice job, well done 😀

You should react to Paschendale by Iron Maiden
Agreed, you think the Trooper is sad, that's SURE to get a reaction. Also, the Trooper is about the Charge of the Light Brigade.
Iron Maiden never disappoints :) up to thorns \m/
Well, since you touch the topic about Nightwish and revisiting
them, maybe is a good option to listen to songs where you see the other side of
Floor’s singing skills. “Storytime”, “I Want My Tears Back”, and “Wish I had an
Angel” are more catchy songs. In the last two, you can hear Marco (bassist)
sing. However, beside the music and the lyrics, Nightwish is better known for
their live performances, so check the Tampere, Wacken or Wembley versions of
the songs.
Great VIDEO \m/ :D
If you like Iron Maiden you'll love Saxon, Wheels of Steel, Never Surrender, Princess of the Night, 747 Strangers in the Night.
Initially the mascot was just a head, Eddie is a play on the word head - silent H.
Iron Maiden is the best serious heavy metal band of all time.
Nightwish Poet and the Pendulum live at Wembley is extremely moving. Understanding the backstory of that song will make it much more meaningful.
Try some Poison, Winger, Dokken, or Whitesnake on her to ease her into "our" music.
The "Flesh and Blood" record is a masterpiece
Megadeth * Symphony of destruction
One that is fairly new to me is Pisces by Jinjer... she might like to hear woman who can sing sweet and have a great death growl and see how somethings really different can be tied together and the musicians are fantastic as well
Iron Maiden are the gates and the back door of metal no other come close...
The US had the largest and most productive metal scene on earth back then. Maiden enjoyed huge success in America. The charts mean nothing. They still sold a lot of records and pulled in big crowds here.
I agree with a lot of the other commenters....she would probably really like Wasted Years by Iron Maiden
