  • All of your Instant Pot Pasta questions are answered here: detoxinista.com/instant-pot-p... (with a printable recipe card!)
Instant Pot pasta is a life-saver on busy weeknights. Instead of waiting for water to come to a boil on your stove top, or watching to make sure that the pasta doesn't boil over with starchy water, you can just add the pasta and water to your pressure cooker, press a button, and WALK AWAY.
It's not necessarily done any faster than cooking it on your stove, but you'll feel like you have extra time on your hands because you don't have to wait in the kitchen to make sure everything okay.
How Much Water To Use: I typically use 5 and 1/2 cups of water per pound of pasta. The full tutorial with printable recipe card can be found here: detoxinista.com/instant-pot-p...

Semi-helpful. Most important elements are amount of water to use, minutes to cook and Natural and Quick Release times.

This was great, been searching for "what does it mean when my instant pot says burn?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Penaniel Foremost Primacy - (do a google search )?
It is a good one off product for discovering how to use great pot recipes to make a delicious meal minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my colleague got excellent results with it.

Using the short pasta like penne I suggest with the 3 min cooking time to quick release after 5 min instead of 10 min otherwise the pasta gets overcooked

Thanks for all the tips on gluten free! Yes. More starch release on gf.
It depends what your gf pasta is made from to determine cooking time as well. Straight rice pasta takes much less time, while corn pasta needs more time.
It gets expensive for gf pasta. So I think I will expert time with smaller pasta quantity.
Foaming, etc. Good ideas 5o not clog up my IP with quick release.

Hi, I received my instant pot yesterday so this was my first use with food. I did what you said and set my stopwatch to see how long it would cook in all. It just kept on spewing steam and when I checked it was 26.5 mins. So I turned it off and let it sit for eight mins. It was almost nuacht. What went wrong?

Put your instant pot into trash and start to cook normally l.
Just ut pasta in boiling salted water for 10 minutes.
Buy a ready sauce and use it

Forget this way! Put pasta in salted boiling water for 10 minutes and the result will be completely better.
If you have time to download to prepare the sauce, prepare it in a standard way (separate from pasta). If you wantv o cook fast just buy ready sauce.

Sounds like a new skill I don’t need. My pasta is ready in 15 minutes flat. No guessing.
Sometimes the simple old school ways are the best. Not a big deal to stir it a couple times and check it’s done-ness to make sure it’s perfect every time.
I love the I-pot for lots of stuff. Just not pasta.
