This is such a useful video, as a newer player hearing you talk about the thought process about sequencing is something that I have been looking for! You've got my sub!
thanks, im happy it was helpful. i was unsure how useful this video would be cause there is so many combinations of hands and different scenarios that i couldnt come up with many set rules
Congrats on 500, I’ve been playing RB for a little bit now. Just started playing in person and got a 5th and 4th (due to resistance) with it. This is very insightful. Thank you.
nice, glad to hear that. im curious to see how it does this weekend, it seems like its in a pretty good spot in the meta right now as long as too much ancient box doesnt show up
hey thanks, im trying to do at least one of this style of video a week along with the regular gameplay stuff. luckily ive played a lot of raging bolt so i was able to do this one a little quicker
i think ive done one since this video but i would start with caleb gedemer's winning list from Louisville regional. and thanks, that is something i could do for sure, i would just have a couple questions first to make sure im not wasting your time and money
really cool video. want to build the deck irl cuz I have everything but the bolts. what do you think about the new slither wing? it's extremely good into thorns and ig miradon with hands is also pretty cool. but apart from that you can't really kill small things like charmander, ralts etc that you get killed by the sandy shocks. I think for now the wing is nice cuz the hype around thorns is still pretty high and guardevoir seems like it flatened out a little bit. but idk!!
i think it's good if thorns is popular enough, the miraidon matchup is already pretty good and they might not even put a future pokemon in play. still need the sandy shocks tho to ko mimikyu, could try cologne instead cause that would also help against thorns but then you would lose to second mimikyu in gardy or stall. so it would really be a meta call thing, if you find your losing a lot to thorns and expect a lot of people to play it throw the slither wing in but if not i just like the deck as straight forward and consistent as possible
@@HenryBurlingameIII 100% but I was talking about the mid slither wing from SFA that does more dmg when your opp has future pokemon in play. the one from PAR is def better then sandyshocks currently.
im glad you like them! there should be one coming soon, hopefully this week but maybe next, ive been having computer problems unfortunately. they also take a while cause i end up redoing them a bunch of times so they sense and arent an hour and a half long of me rambling about every niche situation and random probabilities lol
I just cant see unfair stamp being good in a world where fezandipiti is in every single deck. Ive tried secret box out but prime feels just too good. I feel like with 4 catcher and prime you dont need bundle either
i dont think its good in slow decks anymore but when the bad matchups for this deck tend to be stuff like gardy, zard and one prize decks. if any of those decks put a low hp 2 prize pokemon like fez in play bolt should almost always win. bundle is for when the opponent sticks a one prizer in the active and cant find another for the bench, its a searchable gust at that point and that scenario has come up a lot for me
o nice, thats really good. yea theres a few videos i have to do first but ill do it at some point. i havent played it yet with the new set but have to see if briar is any good in it and if any other new cards go in it
@@sixpokemanstcg tbh briar is better then crispin cuz crispin is basically 5th sads but other then that no use and briar is especially important in zard and pult matchups
How do we deal with turbo zard with pokestop, night stretcher, dusknoir, and arceus? I find that deck is really disgusting as it can forces our game end in 2 turn where he can double bomb any ogerpon and have zard ex kill anything in the front, 4 point by the end of 2nd turn. I think the current meta is to take more than a 1/2 card in a single turn with dusknoir, and dragapult buff, i find that RG cannot keep up with it even if we use briar Let me know wdyt?
ive not seen much about that zard list but yea any deck that can aggressively use dusknoir and speed up the game that much is kind of ridiculous. i think 2 bravery charm in bolt is needed in the current meta. i think it should still play 3-4 pokemon catcher and prime catcher to try and chase down arceus or whatever 2 prize pokemon is in play. if you can go fast enough and take prizes quick enough they wont be able to use as many dusknoir as they like. like if you can catcher arceus for 2 prizes and they pop 2 dusknoir and give another 2 prizes you just need to ko another 2 prize pokemon. thats where the bravery charm can be good so they can ko the bolt with radiant charizard. zard is a hard matchup for bolt generally, all you can really do is try and prize race them fast enough or hope you dont run into zard because its not being played too much right now
this is where im at with raging bolt, its nothing special but its different now than the lists i showed in the video Pokémon: 7 4 Raging Bolt ex TEF 208 3 Teal Mask Ogerpon ex TWM 211 1 Radiant Greninja ASR 46 1 Squawkabilly ex PAL 264 1 Sandy Shocks TEF 98 1 Fezandipiti ex SFA 92 1 Iron Bundle PR-SV 66 Trainer: 17 1 Night Stretcher SFA 61 PH 1 Iono PAL 269 1 Briar SCR 171 1 Night Stretcher SFA 61 4 Professor Sada's Vitality PAR 170 4 Earthen Vessel PAR 163 2 Pokégear 3.0 SVI 186 3 PokéStop PGO 68 3 Pokémon Catcher SVI 187 1 Pal Pad SVI 182 3 Energy Retrieval AOR 99 2 Bravery Charm PAL 173 4 Nest Ball SVI 181 2 Ultra Ball PAF 91 1 Boss's Orders PAL 265 1 Prime Catcher TEF 157 2 Switch Cart ASR 154 Energy: 3 3 Basic {L} Energy SVE 4 PH 3 Basic {F} Energy SVE 6 PH 6 Basic {G} Energy SVE 1 PH Total Cards: 60
as long as you take the first two prize cards you should win. so either have to go second and take 2 prizes or if your forced to go first try sticking greninja or sandy shocks in the active so hopefully your opponent can only take 1 prize and you can still be ahead in the prize trade. the only real comeback potential would be to iono and catcher the raging bolt on the bench with energy (im assuming the bolt with energy will be on the bench) and knock it out and hope they cant attack
i havent typically played any when ive played bolt but they can be good against thorns and to stop an easy bloodmoon ko against miraidon, can also stop drago from taking 6 prizes with double kyurem and they can be alright into zard and ancient box. but like you said they take up space that could be a fourth trekking shoe or whatever and get milled to pokestop and theres no way to pick them out of the deck
when im seriously testing a deck for a tournament or something i try to write down every game i play with a brief description because whenever i brick or something it stands out in my head and makes me think it happens more than it does. so then i can look back and see if the win rate is good or not cause thats really the most important thing
The biggest reason why I play charms or ancient booster energy is because if you KO rotom, take 2 prizes, Zard can OHKO bolt, unless with charm. Obviously ogerpon can get the KO on the Zard but only if you have the 1 grass on them. Also throw a charm on ogerpon or fezendip to protect them. I’ve been using charms for so long, I might try the deck without them to see how it goes. Great video
I really like the new Baby Bolt since it can bench snipe and is a pretty bulky 1 prizer, especially with the charm. I like Briar as a threat too. Temple is also good since legacy is annoying to deal with. Prime catcher is the ace cadd and judge works well against clunkier decks that start outpacing.
yea i was thinking about the baby bolt in drago but it takes quite a few energy to do a meaningful amount of damage. briar does seem pretty interesting for things like radiant charizard or like against garde it usually gets close enough at the end for briar to make the difference
