Wow! My favorite transformation was the interior! The colors we could barely see before are now popping! And that new seat cover helped put it over the top!! My first truck was a '66 Chevy C10 8' bed, manual transmission. My mother reupholstered the seat. Later I got a '68, but with an automatic tranny. I am sorry I sold that one.

I started doing auto body work in 1974 at a GMC dealer. Those were brand new trucks then. They never put much paint on them and it was very easy to buff through.

Nicely done, looked like quite the project. Amazing how much better it looked after a decent wash. I used to have a '66 Chevy stepside, same color and paint condition although my hood had more paint. Just kept what was there shined up and used to get a lot of compliments on it. I also do an acid wash on cars with heavy water spots. Like you say be careful and don't let it sit and you won't have a problem. Only thing I found I really need to watch is aluminum window trim.

One of GM's biggest screw ups was that hood! The hinges have to be almost floating in lubricant or the hood will buckle right about midway because some GM "GENIUS" designed a dimple into that spot that created a weak spot. GM NEVER corrected that screw up and a lot of good trucks paid for it by being junked or abandoned long before their time.
