This kind of stuff happens in Witcher all the time, constantly making you think about a few steps ahead before you have to make a choice. That's why I love this game so much.

I love how this showcases Geralt's book speed. In them his sword and movements are described as being too fast to follow except for the most skilled swordsmen. He even managed to deflect two arrows fired nearly simultaneously at him and Dandylion. It's nice seeing it really displayed in something.
HBO should buy the rights for the Witcher,get the author as a consultant and make a gritty Rated-R tv series out of it,just like they did with ''GoT''.I know there's a polish tv-series but it looks really cheap.(I know they propably didn't have 1/100 of the budget that ''GoT'' has.)
There are many authors working on this game, even side quests have their stories and plots.
And a series would be nice, but I think it would be just a game of thrones light.

Film makers should learn from video game trailers. That how trailers are made.
While I no doubt agree that this trailer is awesome and something to be learned from, the "trailer makers" are usually outsourced from the film-makers themselves and often only have a limited length of footage to work with (especially if the trailer is made before the film is complete). As such, they try to do the best they can with what they have to work with.
When game trailers are writen by storytellers which are filmmakers ;)

This is one game that would make an incredible movie.
In Poland was movie and serial but it wasn't good as it should. Movie and serial appeared before any Withcer games came out. Today after games trilogy somebody should make it propely :) Hollywood should interest in that. Im very surpirsed that still nobody asked for Geralt in L.A

So stupid when people say "best series" it is purely a matter of taste and experiance of games tried. Also i games comes in diffirence genres. Cant be compared for real vs each others !
Mass Effect series , Dragon Age series , Elder Scrolls series , Fallout series, Neverwinter night series, Baldurs gate series, Starcraft series, Borderlands series, Farcry series and the list goes on with series that has good cinematics (atleast for there time period) , good story telling, good gameplay, games you spend "endless" hours on playing.
And then there is tons of MMORPG's and all there expantions that has extremely great history and gameplay aswell.
This isn't just a game, it's level of storytelling is among that of Mass Effect. Both these games are just art, it's that simple.
funny, beautiful, sad, drama, horror every emotion at the same time. You literally decide your own outcome.
10/10 without hesitation

Dont get me wrong - Mass Effect was an amazing game in every way possible even whit the shite DLCs deals. But that ending just destroyed all my love for the game.

Since 2015, I have played it over and over again (8 times to be exact) everytime with care and trying to choose differently, still I'm confident to say I haven't explore all the world of it. This masterpiece is the best in history of gaming so far.
i've watched more trailers of the game than actually played it. i got bored around the time i had to fight an abortee. the story seemed nice but the combat was very awkward for me, the most frustrating part was i never managed to parry, couldn't understand at all when the enemy made contact with me. but i can't wait to have the time to give it another shot, i'm sure the game is actually very good
The amount of side quests derail the primary Gwent driven gameplay.

Imagine hachiman has that monologue
This monologue is taken almost word for word from the first witcher book, where he in the end is forced to choose as well. So just like here and in the game. I really love how CPR brought the characters and the world from the books alive and developed them, while still staying loyal to the source and giving people, new to the story, an easy entry.

Sure, it was an execution, and they very obviously unfamiliar with how to execute someone, but whether the whole thing was good or bad depends on the person they were sent to execute.
I mean, if that woman was the evil one, then the execution would have been a good thing :P

Started playing Witcher 3 and i can only say that Action RPG games can be divided in before and after the Witcher series, specially W3. What a perfect game. Does everything perfectly: Storytelling, Gameplay, Ambient, Sounds, Music, Dialog, Quests. Everything. 11 out of 10.
I agree the only rpg that can match The Witcher 3 is Skyrim.Skyrim is the defining rpg of the 360 and Ps3 generation and The Witcher 3 is the defining rpg of the Xbox One and Ps4 generation.

One thing I will never understand with this game: Everyone knows that the Witchers are extremely powerful individuals, fighting large and dangerous monsters, but many still always try to pick i fight with them. If someone like that would cross my path I'd keep my mouth shut.

The most epic scene in the whole trailer is when Gerald catches the bag of coin in an unpercievable movement, and without even looking.
I love how people in medieval-tech settings just throw bags of coins at each other. No counting, no amounts mentioned most of the time, just "here's a random number of assorted coins". And the throwing is so indifferent -- "I don't care how much it is." "Well, I care even less!"
It's sad that the true monsters are those men who are brutally beating that poor woman instead of the beast that Geralt killed

I love the games and they add a great deal to the story of Geralt and the world over but by making it a set story(albeit with multiple story lines) it is confined by the parameters of visual media, taking away a good portion of the imagination used when reading books.

Small detail, but I love how Geralt stabs the knife into the guy’s underarm rather than, say, his chest. It implies that in this world, armor not only exists, but is effective as well.

pguy446 The books are surprisingly excellent. I always under estimate books that video games are based on but the witcher books are beautifully crafted. Some of the best fantasy fiction I have read.
In the books Geralt tries to remain neutral but often finds himself picking the lesser evil. It's one of the major themes of the series.
I didn't expect the books to be good and i was looking for something to read for sometime so i think ill give it a try thnx

There is one, it is polish from 2001/2002, It is not that good but I enjoyed it back then...
I would like it to, but there is a chance tha some stupid director will make it bad, even know the witcher 3 has a great story.

they are going to make one, there is a new witcher movie planned, if a lot of people watch it they will do a series of the witcher
If they made the show more personal and about the witcher path, constant travel and movement with a small lovable band of characters, a little grand politics but nothing like game of thrones that would ruin it, a show about monster slayers and peasant more than aristocracy, cloak and dagger plots in the garden and the like.
The line about choosing between evils is interesting. In the short story where he makes that monologue, he eventually realizes that not making a choice can still be a choice. He is forced to take action, choosing one of the two evils (a man who had ruined a girl's life due to believing in a curse that meant she would be evil) over the other (the girl who was messed up from being abandoned by her family and banished as a child due to his influence and had become a bandit). He has to stop the girl when she decides to threaten to kill innocents at a market to force the man out, and when he doesn't, her and her bandits go to make good on the threat. He is forced to kill all of them, which essentially causes him to choose to support the man that he made the speech to in the first place. If you have the power to stop the greater (or in this case, more immediately damaging) evil, and make the choice not too, the end result is the same as if you supported it.
on the plus side, he gets thee cool title "BUTCHER OF BLAVIKEN" from that incident
That story was probably one of my favorites. Though I would have killed the wizard in a heartbeat. After all, if we're weighing lives as equal here, I would save more people by killing just one wizard, instead of 4 mercenaries and Shrike. Plus the wizard seemed like kind of a dick.

holy moly its been 7 yrs of Witcher 3 and still feels like yesterday. Guess some things never gets old!
This is an actual learning tool. It teaches that evil is evil and should be fought. And It teaches that monsters, at times, wear the skins of men. A game trailer that teaches morality, I love The Witcher series.
Why are some people against him saving that woman? Its sad that some of the comments on here show that some people aren't that different from the dogs in that trailer. Nothing Justifies beating a woman like that! He did the right thing
If you believe the charges against her then her execution was just. Her torture, however, was not. People are against him not executing her for her crimes the same way he executed the soldiers for their crimes of wanting to torture her without purpose.

vines69 That's not it at all, I just have a problem with men abusing women. It just isn't right. If they were women beating her then it would have been justified in my opinion. But multiple men beating on a woman is nothing more than bullying and is just plain wrong

Damn, I think it's a bit sad that Geralt's combat skills aren't well exploited in the game. That was quick and sick.
3 years later and I come back and watch this at least once a month. One of my favorites of all time.

So stupid when people say "best series" it is purely a matter of taste and experiance of games tried. Also i games comes in diffirence genres. Cant be compared for real vs each others !
Mass Effect series , Dragon Age series , Elder Scrolls series , Fallout series, Neverwinter night series, Baldurs gate series, Starcraft series, Borderlands series, Farcry series and the list goes on with series that has good cinematics (atleast for there time period) , good story telling, good gameplay, games you spend "endless" hours on playing.
And then there is tons of MMORPG's and all there expantions that has extremely great history and gameplay aswell.
just bought this game for $14 on the psn store the complete edition my only regret is why I didn't buy this game sooner I can't stop playing it one of d best game I've ever played if not d best no online just story so much things to do
Watch in 0.25 speed and see just exactly how skilled Geralt is. Oh my god!
