I love how u can see her pupils dilating as she exhales, that's how you show death. There's actually 1 more cgi trailer for witcher 3, but its more of a 'thank you for playing our game' shoutout from the developers to the fans.
Try the Witcher 1 Cinematic Intro. It has older CGI, but I'm very curious what you think of the cinematography of it. Also The Witcher 3 Intro scene on the boats is also an epic one.
Fun fact the “A night to remember” actually takes place after the main game and the blood and wine dlc, in blood and wine Geralt promises to come back for Oriannna.
So many things in this Trailer set such a fantastic new standard for how game cinematics could and should be. The potion he took prior to entering the barn was "Black Blood", which is toxic to Vampires, which includes Bruxae, which is what she is. The 'Bomb' was a "Moondust Bomb" which not only makes the invisible monsters silhouette visible, but it also prevents them from transforming and regenerating. Such a brilliant production from beginning to end. Every frame is so well thought out.
Technically she’s a higher vampire like Regis and Detlaff, but cdpr is kinda all over the place with higher vampires. In the cinematic she absolutely looks like a bruxae, and in the main game a higher vampire looks like an ekimmara/katakan.
A Night to Remember is also clever in showing gameplay mechanism through out. The Wild Hunt is all about setting the tone of the world and also for Geralt to say the famous quote hahaha
Exactly every single thing geralt does you can do in game against vampires. You can drink black blood and if a vamp bites you they will literally bite down on geralts neck and then become poisoned. Then you can also hit them with moon dust to keep them from either going invisible or transforming. Then you can counter attack them and dismember many monsters. My personal favorite is counter attacking a hag and cutting their tongues off. Fucking love this game.
Absolutely love your breakdowns. I've rewatched a lot of these trailers countless times but your breakdowns are a new way to appreciate these masterworks and the work that was put into them. Thank you!
Night to remember is made by Digic Pictures (A hungarian company founded by Andy Vajna) who made lots of game trailers (like almost every Assassin Creed) and they worked on the episode called The Secret War in the series called Love, Death & Robots
I love coming back to these trailers from time to time. So many years have passed and these are still phenomenal. Now how about a reaction to the Cyberpunk + Phantom Liberty trailer? :D
Just know all the cinematic trailers for the most part tie together. The first one showing the soldiers trying to beat that girl tie into the next trailer because the main captain that geralt leaves hanging bumps into yennefer because he in fact was deserting like the coward he is. Then the fight with the vampire is meant to be after the main story and even the end of the dlc. The blood and wine dlc takes place during the summer and geralt warns orianna he will come back for her if he hears any more news about her attacking children. Well once you see the snow you can tell it’s clearly later at some point into winter or at least into the fall and now he’s come back for her…
@@kaizammit these games are so in depth I also totally just noticed you pointed out orianna the vampire is singing a children’s song because in the game she sings to children at her orphanage to dull their senses so she can feed on them! All just hinting she has absolutely been feeding on more children and geralt is keeping his promise at the end that he would come back for her and as soon as she sees it’s him she already knows what’s about to happen. The song also is meant to make children fear witchers again just alluding she knew this was going to happen.
@@kaizammityeah she tries to justify feeding on them to geralt by saying she protects them and they love her. This is where the game lets you decide are you on with it since she is technically taking in orphans and taking care of them. However it is as geralt puts it just for them to be livestock for her to feed on…
@@kaizammitOrianna feeds off the children from the orphanage she owns - and pays a couple to run it. You can find a note in game from her to the couple, where she mentions what she wants them to feed the children(because she can taste it through their blood). The song you hear is called ‘Lullaby of Woe’: Wolves asleep amidst the trees Bats all swaying in the breeze But one soul lies anxious, wide awake Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags and wraiths For your dolly polly sleep has flown Don't dare let her tremble alone For the Witcher Heartless cold Paid in coin of gold He comes, he'll go, leave naught behind But heartache and woe Deep, deep woe Birds are silent for the night Cows turned in as daylight dies But one soul lies anxious wide awake Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags and wraiths My dear dolly polly shut your eyes Lie still, lie silent utter no cries As the Witcher Brave and bold Paid in coin of gold He'll chop and slice you Gut and dice you Eat you up whole Eat you whole
Amazing cinematics and story telling. The way they set the mood with the folktale song or how they are reading the crimes while showing the terrified woman getting hit, instantly making the viewers conflicted is just brilliant. All of them convey how dark and morally grey the world is right away. The only part that I've always thought was a bit weird is how Geralt puts the silver sword back into it's sheet after cutting the bruxa while he can barely walk and is still in a fight with her. But I guess it's game accurate.
Finally! I was so happy to see that you´re finally reacting to the Witcher trailers and I was even more happy that your breakdown was on "A Night to remember". Can´t tell you how much I love this trailer. Every couple of months I come back to see this one and after your breakdown I even understand better why this is so special
One word , Wiedźmin. you know that the Polish word witcher (Wiedźmin), although it may have existed hundreds of years ago and is generally unknown now, was reinvented by Spakowski. He created the masculine version of word "Wiedźma" and the best thing is that it was just as easy to create a calque in English. adding "er" to a female witch
The character owns a orphanage and profits to drink the blood of the kids there. That's the connection between the nursery ryme and the doll. I wonder if this trailer is canon in the story. After all, Geralt did promis to go back for her in the DLC story.
A night to remember is so good. It shows him using quen to block an attack, him using black blood, an ingame potion that makes your blood poisonous to any creature that would attempt to suck it, one of his bombs that makes sparkling dust to expose invis. Everything in the trailer can be recreated in the game and I love it
Just to re-iterate how great the game is beyond the trailers, in its dedication to details and subtle story telling here are 2 facts about the opening cinematics: 1. the soldier that Yen is bumping into, who turns and run away, is the same one who ends up with the noose on his neck at "Killing monsters" (which happens after that battle). 2. The raven skull jewel can be actually found at the beginning of the game, and returned to Yen later on. And she acknowledges it! best. game. ever.
I love Killing Monsters, but A Night to Remember is one of my all time favorite trailers. Its the one I would go around back around that time and showed anyone who was around me for longer than 2 minutes lol
Simply put, the best trailer I’ve ever seen for the greatest video game I’ve ever played. The only downside to Kai’s commentary is I have to fight not starting my eighth play through.
Regarding the "Killing Monsters" trailer - Platige Image worked with Stunt Forces to record motion capture for this fight scene. This whole fight is recorded as a single take. It has English subtitles, they explain a bit about the process and show real life footage, it's pretty cool to watch. It's called "Making of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Wiedźmin 3: Dziki Gon) - Trailer" on YT.
Mentioned wanting to see a reaction to this game a while back and the cinematic you chose to breakdown was perfect as it’s my favorite as well. Great to see you listening to your fans and continuing to pump out kick ass reactions/breakdowns as always. Fantastic work my friend 👍
The witcher series is such a blast to both watch and play through, so much stuff to do and the ingame music just when riding around is amazing every time. I really loved your breakdown of the trailer, so much to learn from it and enjoy :)
Aaaaaah the witcher's cinematics, a goldy classic!! Love your videos Kai, if you want more "dark cinematics" or more of Dark Fantasy, I suggest you watch the Elden Ring cinematics (not the gameplay trailer, the Story Trailer and the Opening trailer) I think you will like it :) And there's the new dlc story trailer as well!! You will like it for sure!
Absolutely loved the video, thumbs up! There were small details I didn't even catch first time seeing this until your break down. Brilliant~! Makes me want to replay this too! lol Thanks KAI ZAMMIT.
@@kaizammit Oh by the way! The reason for that doll she picked up is because I believe she ran an orphanage where she drank from the children she housed.
YES. I literally just started another playthrough of the Witcher 3 and when watching the opening cinematic I was thinking what you'd have to say to it. And I'm not disappointed! Also "A Night to Remember" is one of my favourite trailers out there, and your breakdown was class. I really think CDPR games tend to have the best cinematic trailers. Loved the video as always, entertaining and informative.
A Night to Remember is the perfect Cinematic trailer imo. It gives you a very good example of what kind of characters and writing you will get in the game, and you also get all the little gameplay nuances of the game. You got Geralt a Witcher who is a monster slayer and a Vampire who appears quite human and sentient, so there is some moral ambiguity and as a result some melancholy about it. it's just a sad story which epitomizes what the Witcher is all about. As for gameplay you get all the information of being a witcher. Geralt takes out his silver sword, takes a potion to counter the vampire in case she bit him. Witchers rely a lot on alchemy and crafted items to help them take down a monster more effectively. He takes the black blood potion from the game which infects vampires. For invisible enemies Geralt uses a bomb which in the game is Moon Dust which is very effective against enemies that go invisible. And finally Geralt uses a crossbow to finish her which is a new weapon added to Geralt's arsenal added to the game.
The nursery she sings is for children but the words are are warning to monsters about the witchers which makes monsters look more human. shes a higher vampire (very dangerous and intelligent which is why she says times must be really bad for him to take the contract- in BnW dlc the area is lush and beautiful in contrast to this trailer. (witchers try not to kill intelligent creatures like dragons because theyre not mindless monsters). In B&W dlc there are even more powerful vampires that even witchers cant kill but shes more of a bruxa one) in hiding whos in charge of an orphanage which shes using to get free blood without killing the children. She helps you in one of the missions in DLC (if you choose a certain path) and thats where Geralt hears the song she sings for the first time. Yennefer has a crow scull pendant that she uses as a weapon e.g the magic crow that flies into the guys eye. You find it at the begining if the game and give it back to her later.
Just discovered your channel and im loving allll the tips. Your passion is definetly showing through! Do you think you could do a video on colour grading/post processing film? As a CG artist I'd love to learn how to make my renders more believable, and make them pop
That's not something I'd do on the Channel as it pulls away from content others watch. This is why I offer one to one sessions, I look at what it is you want to learn and figure it out with you or tell you the answer directly plus many other thing to help get you to the next level of your skills/career. It's an hour session, link in the description box
Of course I did, too bad it was over midnight when I started watching and now I'm a slug at work😂. To be honest, I think the witcher 3 trailers are very well designed and hope to see more 🍻
CDPR should have made the Netflix series by using this quality of animation. They have a really faithful adaptation of the strigga story as the opening cinematic of TW1. The Netflix version of that story changed so many plot points unnecessarily. You can tell things weren't being changed for time because they'd remove something from the story, then add in something else.
40:13 Gerald in the game himself said that for others they are just brainless monsters that kill people, but after winning a fight he sees how they most often return to the form of people they were before a curse, a possession, a spell.
The crows in the game can serve vampires and act as their spies, thus seeing them follow Geralt at the end could mean, that some other vampire was keeping a watch over him, or perhaps even assisted him with locating Orianna.
If anyone is wondering about the history of trailers, I am here to help. All of them depict Geralt of Rivia (the main character of the games, the book and the TV series) who travels with his friend, a former teacher Vessemir. He tries to find his beloved Yenefer. We can see on the 2nd trailer how he uses his experience (he is almost 100 years old at this point) to search the place of the battle to find the direction in wich Yen went. On first triller we can see the world really looks like, a world in which no one cares about another person. As you can hear in the trailer, Geralt says his well-known words: "If I'm to choose between one evil and another, i'd rather not to choose at all". This is the leitmotif of all parts of The Witcher, where Geralt always tries to stand impartially. And on the 3rd triller we can see how his work looks like. As we can hear he got a commission to kill that monster(this woman)(i believe its some type of higher vampire). As a wicher he knew what he was dealing with and how to go about it. geralt carfted some type of elixir to weaken the vampire and that kill it. To sum up, on the trailers you can only observe a scoundrel of what the games, the series and the book offer us. I am of the opinion that almost everyone will enjoy the saga of the witcher if they devote themselves to it
(1st trailer) 9years and its still badaas fight scene :D ps: this bird`s talisman you can found in game : ) -cdpr really love details :D ps2: more W3 trailers pls :P
'That horse just stay there the whole time while he was duking it out in there?' Yep. Roach is the best girl. Not very smart but definitely loyal. And I really enjoyed your breakdown.
16:15 To answer that question i have to spoiled some things of history of this game. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions and breakdowns! ---------------- Don't read below if you don't wanna get spoiled about this game ----------------- Like you saw in that trailer, she's like a bruxa/ higher vampire, she used to have an orphanage full of kids that were beggars or orphans, and in exchange of food and a place where to sleep, she drank their blood. When Geralt find out this he promises to her that he will come back to kill her, and probably that is why she pick up that child toy remembering her way to live before Geralt come.
Did NOT notice you covered the Witcher game cinematics... enough said, I got my tea & lunch at the ready. Let the reaction & breakdown commence, trust your content is top notch as always, so comment & like beforehand because I KNOW you have thoroughly enjoyed watching most of them & had fun on the breakdown.
Witcher 3 was the BIGGEST surprise for me in my entire life. Holly shit, i downloaded and started to play like "what is this overhyped (600 award already) wizzardish game" and i am standing up after 120hrs "This is THE...." Over they years i purchased every episode's digital and physical copy on 6 platforms, a sealed preorder copy of the 3rd, and collected a few things what i am absolutely sure no one ever will be able to get whatsoever. :D
@@kaizammit Thanks :) but this dedication is more or less committed to CDPR, through the Witcher games. I really love when someone create something, what has depths, layers and telling meaningfull things. Especially if it holds a mirror to humanity and reflext every good and bad back on us uncensored. This art has everything above and more to me. I don't want to write a novel about it here (probably i can), so i just... stops here. :D
Something ill always mention about that first trailer especially is how the CDPR is still giving you facts and you make you mind up if you get all the information. You hear the music and it draws you in, then see the girl get beaten and about to be hanged. But i feel like no one takes notice of the crimes that she committed: murder of the wounded, then looting them and even cannibalism!! That is awful. But geralt doesnt hear any of that, from his perspective, those soldiers are simply beating a young girl. One needs the full story. Its one of the best trailers ever IMO
Cóż, Wiedźmin 3 jest lepszy, o wiele lepszy, niż CP2077. Przepraszam, ale takie jest moje zdanie. Dla mnie, to nadal, mimo upływu lat, najlepsza gra na świecie.
I just like the video before watching knowing this content is going to be awesome 🙌🏻 Witcher 3 such a fantastic game. CDPR really know how to make high quality games. Btw Go Cats! #TimeToHunt
Roach (the Horse) prob. stood on top of the house during the fight. In the game you can summon the horse in by calling it (basicly spawning behind you, but it used to be ... pretty liberal ... on the spawn part).
@@kaizammit Like OP said, the game played fast and loose with where Roach would spawn when you called her. It's a bit of a meme that Roach would magically appear on the roofs of houses somehow

"Tiddiees" man was so happy
I think they used a telephoto at 18:30 bc she's observing Gerald from a distance
Ohhh man, I've been waiting for this since you started the channel ... although you said you know them already❤❤❤
I turned out I knew just the one and that was a while ago now. I hope you enjoyed the video!
One trailer better than whole Netflix show...
Maybe Regis
I am of the opinion that almost everyone will enjoy the saga of the witcher if they devote themselves to it
They showed off the new location of DLC at the end
(1st trailer) 9years and its still badaas fight scene :D
ps: this bird`s talisman you can found in game : ) -cdpr really love details :D
ps2: more W3 trailers pls :P
'That horse just stay there the whole time while he was duking it out in there?'
Yep. Roach is the best girl. Not very smart but definitely loyal.
And I really enjoyed your breakdown.
Thank you for watching fella! Kai
Ever wondered how would it look like if you hired Oscar winning animator to make cinematics? That's the effect, check Tomasz Baginski.
You should do the Baldur's Gate 3 opening cinematic next.
16:15 To answer that question i have to spoiled some things of history of this game. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions and breakdowns!
---------------- Don't read below if you don't wanna get spoiled about this game -----------------
Like you saw in that trailer, she's like a bruxa/ higher vampire, she used to have an orphanage full of kids that were beggars or orphans, and in exchange of food and a place where to sleep, she drank their blood.
I hope you enjoyed your lunch!?
@@kaizammit Almost as much as your review on Witcher. Thank you for asking Kai.
Witcher 3 was the BIGGEST surprise for me in my entire life.
Holly shit, i downloaded and started to play like "what is this overhyped (600 award already) wizzardish game" and i am standing up after 120hrs "This is THE...."
Over they years i purchased every episode's digital and physical copy on 6 platforms, a sealed preorder copy of the 3rd, and collected a few things what i am absolutely sure no one ever will be able to get whatsoever. :D
Wow, you are a dedicated fan and I love the passion my friend!
I don't want to write a novel about it here (probably i can), so i just... stops here. :D
The way you describe every detail reminds me of gordon ramsay describing every detail in making food 🤣 love it!
Bloody marvellous!!
Its just the best game ever for me
"Hearts of stone" trailer contains spoilers. Dont watch if you want to play. And i recommend playing.
You should react to the Elder Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer!
Imagine show being as good as this..... 😭
The best game ever made
You must watch Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Trailer
Video on Cyberpunk coming soon!
@@kaizammit I'm still waiting :3
Not all cinematic trailers are here... ))
Wiedźmin!
The bird wasn't real the skull is made of crystal.
Maybe, overwatch 2 cinematic trailer ?
Just wanted to say hi ☺️
Hello stranger! You'll be pleased to know I've started covering some more WOW. I've filmed them so they are on their way.
@@kaizammit yayy, looking forward to it, what about the livestream you teased about?
I will attempt it but I've been just to busy currently to figure it all out. Something you can look forward to in the future. I will do one though.
@@kaizammitgreat, i’ll look forward to that then ☺️ could be fun
Never played witcher but its made by the same company who made cyberpunk 2077 i think. So i know they will be great!!
Cóż, Wiedźmin 3 jest lepszy, o wiele lepszy, niż CP2077. Przepraszam, ale takie jest moje zdanie. Dla mnie, to nadal, mimo upływu lat, najlepsza gra na świecie.
I just like the video before watching knowing this content is going to be awesome 🙌🏻
Witcher 3 such a fantastic game. CDPR really know how to make high quality games.
Btw Go Cats! #TimeToHunt
Absolutely! Go Cats! #TimeToHunt
Small suggestion , reduce the size of your face screen thingy , you are blocking half the screen.
PLEASE react to the other witcher game trailers
You've got it!

"Kai what did u remember from the cinematic? Was it the storytelling? Camera work? Dialog may be?"
"Its the TITIES!" - Kai the filmmaker xD
Hey, I wasn't filmmaker back then so I would say that my memory remembered only the bits it needed! haha. KZ
@@kaizammityup the best bits xD
TW3 = masterpiece
and the fact that these trailers are like what ? 9 years old ?
А теперь давай по киберпанку бахни
What's the total "Ye?" count here?
Eh?
The last of us and the last of us part II pls
It is kind of strange that the trailers are stripped of color. The Witcher 3 is one of the most highly saturated games I've ever played lol
It's how they make it more serious. If it was full of colour or bright, you'd think it was a joke.
Why do you watch it from gamespot and not from CDPRs own channel.?
I watched from The Witchers channel but was unsuccessful downloading the videos from there as they block it. Downloaded from GameSpot instead.
ppps hail the emperor/sigmar
What English accent do you speak ?
South England, outskirts of London.
Roach (the Horse) prob. stood on top of the house during the fight.
In the game you can summon the horse in by calling it (basicly spawning behind you, but it used to be ... pretty liberal ... on the spawn part).
Look up Roach's Gwent card image. You are gonna get a kick out of it.
Why's he on the roof? Haha
@@kaizammit Like OP said, the game played fast and loose with where Roach would spawn when you called her. It's a bit of a meme that Roach would magically appear on the roofs of houses somehow
