Love the foreground and the way you captured and processed the colours . I managed to get some interesting Milky Way shots recently. I have problems getting the colours looking natural. So many photographers go way overboard with the processing, but your style seems accurate to my eye.
Incredible Images as always, the image with you standing in the ships light as you said really showed scale, every time I saw you close to the edge I was holding my breath.
Looking forward to your review of the a7iv with the Astro augment. I’ve been to Spencer’s, great shop! Stopped through from Southern California on our way up to Yellowstone and Teton park.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Picked up the A7IV several months back and have really enjoyed it as well. Look forward to your thoughts in the coming review. Cheers!
Thanks Allan.in success and failures lessons can be learnt. The lesson is that even in the early hours of day light pollution is huge.So folks choose a Dark sky site and then make sure to visit the dark sky site in the day light. When you are in the site get the "What three words" and have it in the favourite in the What three words app.On the night of the shooting use the what three words for your location.many of the dark sky sites do not have post codes!!!. Another feature is the clothing to keep you warm and lots and lots of batteries. Allan do you have a video for moveshootmove star tracker?
Hi Alyn, I see that like your new Sony the Canon R6 ISO invariance starts at ISO 400 too. Would love to see a side by side review of these 2 Astro beasts.
Excellent video as always Alyn, I'm really looking forward to hearing your'e views on the A7iv ... I currently shoot astro on the A7s & use an A7Riv for landscape etc & I'm hoping the A7iv will do for both. Keep up the awesome work.
I really loved the vertical panorama. I think you and others have done it before, but I like seeing a vertical panorama overlaid on a faded or slightly fuzzy standard horizontal or square shot of the same general subject. A little artistic flare...
Happy to see you out and about, a lot to learn in every episode. May I suggest a green headlamp, the red can be seen for miles, vision at night is better when using green. The worst is not using gear in the off MW season.
I brought a new full spectrum mod Sony A7IV from Spencer’s Camera as well (worked done by Lori) with the AA removed and heat sink options, then have it shipped to Australia. Ive only managed to do infared photography so far with newest Kolari Vision filter sets with my various GM primes. I havent managed to take it out for a full astro pano evening, but excited to see the results, over the A7RIII (which I'll intend to still use for foreground components). I was pretty happy to find that Photons to Photos showed the 2nd ISO gain is at 400, rather than initial reviewer pre-release samples reported 1600. Looking forward to ur review of the camera.🌌
The down side of living to far north is that astrophotography is a winter activity. Im stuck in daytime with a touch of bluehour between start of may and end of september.. Well well, i can always visit this channel =)
At 64.2 degrees north the sky is too darn bright! No milky ways for me (except the ones i see here on the ’tube of course). I have an eq6-r on the way, so i’ll be ready for some deep sky targets come september! 🤘🤓🌌🔭
See , before i even start the video i want to say that YESS I regret not shooting alot of astro in spring here which happened in march ... as i live in acity but still the AQI in spring of march reached as low as 70 .. so pure air , and nice skies ... but i had my exams .... NOW I AM SO ANGRY THERE IS ONLY HAZE AND CLOUDS WITH HEAT WAVE AND ALL
Hey Alyn I recently bought a tracker and I want to capture that time lapse of milkyway focused in the center frame and the earth rotating, you might seen such reel by various astrophotographers. Can you teach me how is it done or you yourself could take a try and show us via video.
Hi Alyn I am wondering would you like to the bbc sky at night magazine videos from march 2020 and May 2022 in your wtns playlist since you missed both months
1:56 call me an idiot here, but I swear that boat's lights are slightly going around the curvature of the earth. If so, that's really cool and I still can't believe that there are people who would disagree with the earth being round with all the evidence
Thanks for sharing Alyn! About that astro-conversion.. do you know if the camera loses its video characteristics in log-profile? Like, would it be hard to match my images when I film together with an a7sIII or another non-modified a7IV?
Another great vid, but puzzled by the timing. Wasn't this shot weeks / months ago? Guess the jetset lifestyle of an internationally renowned astrophotographer has its downside to putting content out? 🤣😎
You can not win! Pristine weather conditions for viewing the night sky, yet you have some fool(s) flashing their bright ass lights for whatever reason. These videos are very motivating for myself to get out and view the stars. Once I’ve passed my driving test and own a car.
R.I.P Alyn you are the brightest star
The best intro I have ever seen in my entire life bro
IMO, the decision to stand with the ship's light made it into a superb photo. The blue light gives it a really unique sci-fi look.
Great milky way image, Alyn. Unfortunately for me, Milky Way core season is also the cloudy season. Wait... That's all year long!
OMG it’s so good to see you Alyn. brilliant how you stood in front of that dang light, and
captured something wonderful.
Astronomy is my life ❤️
Nice video mate I love all your videos
Great video Alan, outstanding weather for you.
Very good to see the milky way capture Alyn.
The last picture is beautiful. Great work as always. I just bought the 14 for this season's MW adventures, so really looking forward to using it.

The last shot is the best. Like the wider image.
Incredible Images as always, the image with you standing in the ships light as you said really showed scale, every time I saw you close to the edge I was holding my breath.

Great to have you back photographing in wales alyn love the Milky Way pano with the rocks stunning 😍
Awesome video dude. As an a7III owner, I can't wait for that a7IV vs a7III review video!
Great as always!!
On a different note, are you going to do a WITNS video for June or have you stopped doing them?
For me, the last photo showing the Milky Way core was superb. Great vlog, as always 🌌
I get so many ideas watching this
Woah mann! What an amazing vlog. Definitely looking forward to milky way season!
Loving your work as always
A very good video Alyn, thank you.
Thinking about the Sony A7IV so looking forward to that review mate, the 24mm image with the arch worked best for me.
Keep up the great work 📷👍
Nice I love the second shot of the arch with the MW!! 🌌
Glad you like the A7iv just got one a week before this video!

I didn't even knew there was a 🌌 Milky Way emoji. Fantastic video

Absolutely brilliant 🍻

Brilliant Alwn! Last time I was there I left my filter bag, so about £600 in the bin. I now use very few filters, lol. Is the platform still there?
ALYN, You are amazing!!! 🌌
I live on the edge of a Dark Sky Preserve (Central Idaho). My problem is that is sooo very dark that I can't get a good focus on a forground.
That's Rare for Wales to be Clear skies...But, when it is Its Gorgeous...Great Images Alyn!
Thankyou Alyn another great video.John
✨ So beautiful man!
Hi Alyn
Awesome, like always!
Take care
Regards
Willi
Wish i had a person as passionate as you in my life🖤🩶🤍. See you amgonst the stars- cause i know your soul will shine bright. 🌖🌟🌔

Great video Alyn! Glad that i'm not the only one messing up things🤣
Alyn I love your videos! Please upload in them 4K. I know your cameras can shoot it ;)

When is your book coming out?
God job dude
now that night time is just about to disappear for a few months I must ask - do you think it would significantly impact ability to image milkyway?
Orion? I haven't seen it for months (Manchester, UK)? I thought it was gone?
Hey Alyn I recently bought a tracker and I want to capture that time lapse of milkyway focused in the center frame and the earth rotating, you might seen such reel by various astrophotographers. Can you teach me how is it done or you yourself could take a try and show us via video.
Bravo !

🪐🌟 Great as always 👍
freakin awesome
Beautiful images! How do you get so much color detail in the foreground when it is already dark? How long do you expose the foreground for roughly?
you could try Rosette nebula, heart and soul, M42, Orion's belt, some galaxies in that free time :)) Not with MSM, but anyway :))
1:56 call me an idiot here, but I swear that boat's lights are slightly going around the curvature of the earth. If so, that's really cool and I still can't believe that there are people who would disagree with the earth being round with all the evidence

What are your views on the 14 1.8 GM?
I heard the noise performance in a7 iv is surprisingly worse than the previous a7 iii. is that correct?
Another great vid, but puzzled by the timing. Wasn't this shot weeks / months ago?
Guess the jetset lifestyle of an internationally renowned astrophotographer has its downside to putting content out? 🤣😎
Thought that area was dark, shocked by the light pollution.
🌌
Have you ever just gone to sleep. And not waken up? LOL
