EV car manufacturers always inflate their numbers. The whatever maximum range they claim is basically their "ideal" conditions (flat, perfectly paved track in warm weather, driving 35mph with no AC or any other accessory turned on). Tesla's number is often only 80 to 90% of what they claimed. Other EV manufacturers basically inflate their number by a crazy 30 to 50%.
Not really, keep in mind this is a huge battery pack (144.4kwh). There is a real world test that went on a 600km road trip, by the end of the round trip it still had 21% battery charge left. It was projected to go 1010km in mixed driving between 3 different drivers calculated during the 300km mark. Full on highway speed was still expected to go 816km, plus this battery technology performs better in winter than any other brands as of right now. There is another video in Chinese that talked about their technological breakthroughs, 50 new patents, 5 years of testing and passes all safety and puncture tests etc. We need more companies like this that increases battery density and charging efficiency. Tesla is definitely sleeping on new product lines instead of R&D. It's just a matter of time before other companies catches up, this will be an ultra competitive industry.
