Good God man! I swear I felt like I was drone those holes right there with you. So stressful!!! Hey, I only know this because of watching mini installs. But apparently all your kayak shavings are really good for repairing holes. I’m guessing because the way they’re shredded up and easy to heat up anyway, it’s been a great time watching this video. I can’t wait and I hope that I figure out a way to store kayak in an apartment, I’ve been looking at that modular fishing kayak. But isn’t that a hell of a thing let’s take a boat cut it in half and then jigsaw puzzle it back together again every time you want to go on the water.😅lol!!?? Thanks 🙏
Sorry for the late response pal, and I'm glad you liked the Video, its one of my favourite ones I've put up which I believe helps people with their set ups.. but sadly, I've got rid now and went with a SIB and 9.8hp engine, easy and get to places a lot quicker and worse weather... cheers again and please keep watching 👍👍
@@Mitchinelli You will be impressed with the Kayak bud, shame I haven't been out as much as I wanted but that's Galaxy's fault... I have a video soon of using the pedal drive and me moaning on how hard it is but when you're out there and getting used to it, it wasn't too bad, but enjoy bud 🛶👍
Man, the trolling motor looks amazing and when you get out on the water you look like you’re flying. Great work all around. So when I purchase my kayak when you can come over and install all the crap for it for me I mean I imagine you’re somewhere in the old country roundabouts I’m guessing accent thing and I’m in Olathe Kansas U.S cn you do that with you?😂 OK man great video awesome production! ⚓️⚓️⚓️ Thanks 🙏
I know I should proofread before I send apologies or use the speech to text because my damn hand shakes so bad I can’t. Hey just be thankful you’re not reading my handwriting. 🫢🤭🙊
HI bud and thank you for watching, I really do appreciate it and glad it may have helped you, but the trolling motor was bloody good to start but then it failed, I ended up with a 3rd replacement so I got rid of the motor and got refunded for it. It burned out when I was mile and a half out in the north sea and a buddy had to tow me back in.. I have now sold my Kayak and purchased a 3.3mtr SIB and a 9.8 motor as you may have seen in my recent video's.. BUT as for helping with your yak, I would love to, I love America and you would have to pay my flights as well lol.. Cheers again my friend👍👍
Cheers my friend and glad you liked it. I loved the yak to start with, but it became a problem after problem. So it's gone now. I preferred my 1st one, the Galaxy Sturgeon, lighter and easier. Cheers again 👍👍
Cheers John, sadly had nothing but trouble with the motor which is now non existence due to a major fault, removed off the shelf by Galaxy so just a pedal drive at the moment..
@paulstoker2173 Hi bud, I got rid of the Kayak about a year ago and gone for the SIB as you may have seen in my other vids, I loved the yak but was hard work paddling and peddling the Supernova when the motor packed up.. but cheers for liking the video, very much appreciated 👏 👍
Did the sideview of the sonar gave any trouble with this install? I want to install the same transducer but i don't know how to make it stay flat to the water line with the mount of the supernova
Apologies for the late response bud, I used spacers to build up the bracket so the transducer was flat with the bottom of the yak, I also kept the plastic cover off which Is meant to protect the transducer,, I was told that this would affect the sonar. I never used the sideview and still don't on my SIB. I don't know if that is meant for shallower waters like in rivers. I've never really gave that a chance.
Hi, just wondering if you were using a lifepo4 battery with the propel motor ? I had the same motor burn out on me last week due to overheating. Some of these motors aren't designed be run at full speed for long periods with the newer batteries. I have bought a side mounted motor to be used in tandem with the rudder and won't be running it at more than 80 % speed. Of course if you were using the older marine battery then that makes the comparison null and void. The breakdown video was like an action replay of what happened to me but luckily I wasn't well offshore like you were. Cheers.
HI Bud, I did have the Lifepo4 60amp version for my propel motor, I still managed to get a full day out of it using all the speeds but didn't like it at full speed all the time. I have lost a fair bit of money on this set up but gladly sold the lot and got refunded for the motor off Galaxy.. I wish I had kept my Galaxy Stugeon, good old paddle power, it was much lighter and could paddle faster than the motor could take me lol. But I was glad I had Chris out with me on the break down otherwise i'd still be paddling in now😄😄
Hi and thanks, the motor is a Propel motor made for galaxy kayaks, and they are CRAP.. 😆 they are not selling them no more until they sort out the major issues out.. I was on my 3rd replacement before it burnt out too, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I'd look for an alternative 👍
I never put my plate back on as I was told that it may interfere with the sonar, but now i've heard it doesn't. But i have took it the transducer back off and put it on my SIB so don't use the YAK no more sadly, ..
Hi I’m looking for a fishing kayak and you seem to know about all I’ve a friend who has a feelfree lure 11 ft for sale it seems a nice boat what are your thoughts please
Hi and thanks bud, I don't have any experience with the feel free but I've not heard a bad thing about them. 11ft for me I think would be a tad to short as I prefer the extra couple feet like on the Galaxy Sturgeon and the Sturgeon FX.. Very stable Kayaks and handle well in all weather 👍 Good luck though with whatever you get and keep safe on the water.
I’ve looked at the feel free lure and it is a nice boat in fact so are all the Galaxy boats but I ended up with a sit in kayak that I can carry over my shoulder. Just found sit on boats that are over 30 + kgs to heavy to roof rack and carry by myself
I'll be honest John, your'e a braver man than me using a sit in, but only because i've never used or experienced them, it's the thought of them filling up with water instead of washing over the sit on, makes me feel more nervous 😐 but be safe and tight lines my friend..
Hi not really brave just have been kayaking since I was given an old PBK 14 canoe canvas skinned canoe in the nineteen sixties. I had good friends from Durham kayak club and we did lots of sea trips around the Hebrides I lived and breathed canoeing through the seventies and eighties and could roll the boat %100 which makes a difference ( anyone can do it after a bit of practice) I had a valley canoe products anas acuta sea boat it became part of me that why I like sit in boats. Thanks for comments.
Hi John, this model, the supernova is fairly heavy but solid and stable. If you want a lighter one, try the Viking profish GT if you can get hold of one, they are paddle power or you can fit a motor on the back of them .. 🙂👍
The motor at the time was £350, but was a massive failure, I had 3 replacements but in the end, got refunded. Galaxy were meant to be building a new and safe version? But the Yak is a cracking piece of kit, heavy but bloody stable.. Enjoy it though 👍
Hi bud, at the time of purchase from Galaxy, all in with the propel motor and pedal drive was close to 2100, but the price has come down now, have a look on the website, you'd get a better idea👍
