THIS Chevrolet Caprice started as an Australian police cruiser. THAT Honda Civic EX was rescued from the junkyard for $400. One has bulletproof doors, the other has an intake valve for a headlight. One’s got a supercharged L77 V8 engine, and the other? An LS VTEC with enough nitrous to boost the horsepower from 240 to 480! We got ourselves a race here, scumbags! Enjoy.

It's shameful these weren't more widely available in USA. SUV trend is junk. That's why GM didn't further develop Holden.
Not oddball in Australia see these race a lot as they are just a luxury car here. Used as Limosines and Government cars. Our cop cars are Holden SS Commodores. Pontiac G8 and Chevy SS in USA .

if you listen closely right at the end of the race you can hear that piston give out and start missing.
Not only compression, that was 30m/s mean piston speed, MotoGP bikes race at 26m/s, this was expected.

With the amount of nitrous it's pushing I can see it happening. Still sick for an N/A motor.

In a 2400 lb car it smokes 80% of what's on the road. Spend 3k on some forged parts & 1000 hp is in the cards.

@@DriftR35 Oh, i kissed the slicks on the Caprice, lol. Pretty obvious looking at it now. My main point was that one of these cars was stressed and highly tuned while the other could do this all day. Anyway, that's kind of the point of this segment. It's supposed to be a weird matchup.

I live in Vegas. I see this guy around town all the time! He always cruising on Craig Rd and Decatur area. North town dude for sure. Car is loud as fuck in person. Super rad.

The Honda is not blown, we had a small hole in Piston 3 due to adjustment errors made on our engine management. She's back up and ready for that rematch.
Damn, that delta between all motor and spray is insane. Truly speaks to hondas engineering prowess. AND ITS NOT EVEN FROM THIS OR LAST DECADE

Its a GM product toyotas are made here in the US it dosen't make them American. Holden is an American company.🇺🇲

Chrysler are merged with fiat, its fiat chrysler, dont mean every dodge challenger is Italian though does it. And btw, the toyotas that are made in America, are American cars, they're not sold anywhere else, and designed by Toyota USA.

My 2014 is currently on Nitrous which is ideal for no prep and street racing that it do because I'm able to control wheel spin out of the hole. However nitrous is a pain in the azz to get in upstate NY so I am planning to go Whipple 2.9 and will have to figure out traction from there lol.

Okay, I had no idea Caprices we’re still in production after the turn of the millennium. LOL Let alone in the 2011-2017 under the Austrialian Holden moniker, then imported for use by police. Looks pretty damn good!

You can find these for sale all over, they were one of the cheapest decent v8s you could get a couple years ago. Think they've increased a bit now that word has been getting out.
Wow. Not the outcome I expected. It just goes to show how much weight can play a role. BUT a 3.27 rear gear is tall for drag racing. Especially with a 6 speed auto. It's his daily so he has it set up for better mpg. Do a 1 mile top speed drag and that PPV would probably reel in the Civic. Idk. I liked this race though. Great content!!

I have a 2011 caprice ppv and love it. Best car ive ever had by far.. There isnt alot that can hang with me and I race all the time. Straight stock but fixing to do some modes..

This one was a hard choice of who to root for. I've owned and loved both a Civic and a C10. I dig LS V8s but I abhor heavy cars. Looking forward to seeing either of these again.
