It’s nothing super special. Standard fully built ls3 with LsR intake. The owner built it himself so it’s not gonna be as show-car as the sheepey built Honda. But it’s a lot faster and I prefer it because built, not bought.

Wrong, in a fwd you want wheelspin to catch up before you shift or your going to bog down and drop out of boost. Honda problem was it was turned up too much for street tires. It would have been faster with less power off the line and feeding it the boost in 3rd. Honda could have easily top ended faster then the LS.

Yea man. The first gen engine sucks. Getting it to high power cost as much as just slapping in a LS. 2nd Gen engine makes more power then most then most people do with turbo 1st gens. lol The new engine block can handle a decent bit, someone got a Crosstrek running 525 whp.

It needs to bounce the revs for the tires to grip, otherwise if you shift to early it can either bog the car down or you might even lose control. How is it this many people get it this wrong in the comment sections of a car enthusiast channel, FFS.
That's how rhe FWD drag guys do it. They bang rev limiter while the car catches up to the wheel speed befor they shift because if they shift too early they not only fall out of boost but also fall below the engine's power band and bog.
I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of putting a cross-plane V8 in something that couldn't've come with one from the factory. It just feels like a cop-out to me. In my opinion, that BRZ would've been so much cooler with a built boxer engine or something. I'm not even sure what they come with from the factory, though...

That's how rhe FWD drag guys do it. They bang rev limiter while the car catches up to the wheel speed befor they shift because if they shift too early they not only fall out of boost but also fall below the engine's power band and bog.

I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of putting a cross-plane V8 in something that couldn't've come with one from the factory. It just feels like a cop-out to me. In my opinion, that BRZ would've been so much cooler with a built boxer engine or something. I'm not even sure what they come with from the factory, though...

So, you've missed my point entirely, because I never said V8s don't go well in small coupes: I said I'm tired of people throwing cross-plane V8s - especially LS V8s - into vehicles that didn't come with them. I never said it wasn't impressive, either. My point was that I don't like when people add a bunch of power to a vehicle by just tossing a cross-plane V8 into them. Build the engine the thing came with - or at least a very similar engine, like the Honda owner did.
There's far, far too many people who just toss an LS in something to make power instead of building the engine that they have. That's annoying.

Engine swapping is one of the oldest and cheapest ways to gain power. Granted he probably dropped a fuck ton of money for it but the results pay off.

I never said that LS engines suck, nor did I complain about this not meeting my standards. Literally all that I said is that I don't like when people put a cross-plane V8 engine in a vehicle that couldn't've come with one, and that I wish more people took the time to build the engine that came in the vehicle. When your limiting the car, you should shift quick, stop letting the Honda fighting for the second gear
There's a difference between hitting rev limiter and wheelspin. Shift too soon with the front wheels spinning like that and the car will fall on its face.
All the Hondas need to hit limiter in 1st usually so that the wheelspeed catches up to engine RPM. Otherwise the car falls out of boost. He's driving his car correctly.
