You need to get into the transmission because chances are there is some damage in there. I have seen that specific problem a couple times. You can finesse it but at a certain point it's just burnt up. I say this having had the same problem when I bought my 350Z with 26k miles on it.
@@MillionairX maybe a 156 magnum from Grannas racing. A factory T56 won't even think about hanging with 8 to 9k rpm shifts, not compared to the JK/CD trans. You are dead wrong about the synchronizers on that 90's shitbox transmission even coming close to a CD009/JK.

1JZ engines are awesome. He could have probably got another 100 horse if he really wanted to. What a great guy too. That is so cool to see the greatest Japanese sports car get one of the coolest engines swapped in. I just love it.

"I missed 5th" I felt that, my 2jz/CD9 with a 999 shifter is just about impossible to quickly go from 4th to 5th
It's definitely a setup issue. The CD009 is factory in the 370Z and you have to try to miss shift in those
