There were NOT different sizes of bolts for the sway bar front mounts from the factory. Mazda didn't use anything with a 13mm wrench size, used 12mm and 14mm. 13mm wrench size with 8mm x 1.25mm thread is used by European and many USA manufacturers, and what one commonly finds at hardware and parts stores. If you want that thread with 12mm wrench size, you need to look for JIS bolts.

Good to know, proof this was messed with and replaced with wrong parts unfortunately. So far the bolts in there are working fine but I’ll pin this for someone to know in the future!

Awesome, thanks for showing us the job man. I just replaced the slave cylinder on my '92 a few days ago, love these truck and thankfully it's pretty easy to keep em going.

That’s for sure one thing that’s nice about these old cars, how it easy it is to replace things compared to new ones

Last summer I replaced the tensioner bushings and sway bar bushings on my 1988 B2200, mine were visually bad (worse than yours), and I'd been having some steering wheel shimmy at 65 mph. I also replace the tie rod ends and ball joints as I had either closeout parts or lifetime warranty for those (some had torn boots). I re-set the toe after that. Anyway, I still had the steering wheel shimmy at 65 mph and had two worn rear tires, so took the truck to tire store to have the front tire balance checked. The fronts needed to be re-balanced, and I asked if they were off-balance enough to cause that shimmy, tire tech wasn't sure. So I had those put on rear, and got two new tires for the front, and that fixed the shimmy.

Luckily I haven’t had any issues with shacking but they did needed to be replaced and I just need to get the truck aligned to make sure it’s all set right

Sometimes it’s the little things like this that change the feel of the truck
