@@FarmallFanatic I agree with you 100% FYI, I do believe there is a law from the early 1800's that says water ways are "public domain" and can not be blocked from being used as a method of travel? Back in the day we had no major roads or highways and the various rivers, creeks and streams were used to move both people and freight from place to place.
My neighbor has a small pitch and putt golf course with a tributary on it that eventually leads to the Susquehanna river. He had an issue with kids hunting golf balls on it's banks and then selling them to the golfers. He called the PA state police and they told the kids to leave. You know full well that if a kid gets hurt or god forbid drowns? the parents will own the golf course when the lawyers are done and my neighbor will be selling used golf balls to eat.
After the third time the parents were called and one of the dads came and mentioned this law to the cop and after a few minutes of back and forth, the officer called to higher powers and then agreed with the father. However, the kids stopped doing it, as they had to stay within like 2 feet of the waters edge or in the water to remain legal and not trespass.
They also had to gain ingress or egress to the waterway by legal means .This required going down or up stream to where the public roadway had a bridge that crossed and then walking up on the edge or in the water itself to the golf course. I got this from my neighbor who seems to be a pretty decent person and not a big BS kind of guy?
You may want to check this out so some smarta$$ doesn't try to ruin your day by using this when caught? These days everyone wants respect, yet they refuse to give it? I always thought that was a two way street? Rules for thee, but NOT for me seems to be the way most people roll these days? Where is this world headed?

I enjoy the tour around the creek as you mowed! I would have tried to mow that all down and made some mounds to plant some pumpkins on. Heck those pumpkins would have plenty of room to grow like crazy. My oldest mowed the back field for me and even drove the M up to the gas station and $50 his own money in it so he could have some seat time on the tractor. Thanks for sharing and have a great evening!

The Dual's look awesome on the cub and the creek is very peaceful. Regarding the trespassers, stand your ground, there not invited guests so they shouldn't be there.
Had some farm theft in my area which has made me re-think & change how my place appears from the road entrance.
If I'm away I chain my tractor's front axle to one of the posts in the shed with a large padlock.

I've been even shot twice by trespassers, and and it wound up in a lawsuit. couple days afterward they showed up and threatened to kill me if I said anything, well that didn't work,.. when they left I went and told the neighbor that they had shot their horses, but he never reported that they were shot. So there was no backlash, I called the cops and reported that I had been shot, but, they turned around and sued us for their doctor bills when they told us they had shot the neighbors horses and threatened to kill me if I told what they had done to the horses and me. Never let crap get started, no one has a right to be there you get them off one way or another, by the way when they went to sue us for money for their doctor bills, and the judge found out by their own admission what they had done, he threw their case out.

@@FarmallFanatic I don't know, a very derelict system, but it wasn't isolated, this happened to our neighbors on both sides of us, and one of those neighbors grew up to be our sheriff in our county, he is very well aware of what has and has not happened, he's been a victim of it as well, but for some reason everybody is scared, or downplays it, one of the people that shot me had a 10-step course that they were supposed to go back and get a forgiveness from the people that they have victimized, he shows up to my class reunion and ask for my forgiveness in front of all my classmates. I think it's horrific enough most people don't believe it's true but court records say otherwise and there are witnesses and one of my witnesses is a sheriff. The problem isn't really the trespassers, it's your law enforcement. For some reason these trespassers know they can get by with it. Take the squatter problem we're starting to have.

@@FarmallFanatic back in the day Paul Harvey used to talk about some of these people for years, Paul Harvey would talk about one gentleman for 3 years, just about every other day. One of his comments was we had the highest crime rate per capita anywhere in the continental United States, the gentleman had committed 52 arsons, embezzlement, extortion, and they waited on two charges of attempted murder because they weren't for sure if the guy was going to live or die, and that's what we know about, When he got out of prison in 3 years he became a fire chief, and our City worker. When people complain to the state they had him removed to just City employee. He was one of our highest paid city employees and loved by everyone but me, my dad was 6 years in the military police and a police officer when he was younger, so it's kind of an oil and water thing. But the bigger thing is we have crimes of murder that have never been solved, that makes it the police. You don't have police and you don't have a good law enforcement it's worse than nothing.

About trespassers, I lock all of my pasture gates due to trespassers. Came home one day and found all of my cows closed off into a side field. Thinking that’s odd because the gate has to be closed, it’s not free swinging. Then I found my main gate off of the hinges leaning against the post still locked at the opposite end. According to my neighbor, who saw part of what took place, two guys needed to catch a feral cow. So they moved everything to suit their needs and then just left.
I lock both sides of the gate now.

I know the Sheriff looks the other way when people walk in the creek until they come out on the bank. Still I enjoy seeing all the different parts of your farm. There are only two kinds of people in the world; those who think they have a right to other people's lives and property, and those who don't. The first group is responsible for all conflict throughout history, as the second group constantly has to fight them in order to just be left the heck alone!

Leave the riparian area grassy with shrubs and trees. Riparian areas clean the water, slow flooding and shade the water to keep it cool. Government has to tell people how to care for waterways because people don't understand watershed science.

Its different if someone comes and asks permission to be some where on a persons privet land but when they come do as they wish and leave their garbage behind then they just dont care or have respect for the land. When I go hunting here in Canada where I live I always bring extra garbage bags because I know I'll always end up picking up garbage from other hunters and such in the woods where I hunt on public land. It just never fails I bring at least one sometimes 2 bags of garbage home of crap I didnt pack into the woods with me on top of the bag worth that I brought along. I'll never understand why people cant carry their own garbage behind...one time I rolled up on 6 blown up water bottles...a couple of hunters set them there then went up the road to "feild site" their guns in...shooting in the middle of the road at a corner in the road that I the ex and her daughter came around not five mins later because we heard the shots...just insane and lazy.

It's interesting you brought up the rittenhouse event, I recently had been watching a trial in Wisconsin of a middle-aged man who was accosted by 6 teenagers that had been drinking and smoking you know what,,,,
They all were floating on intertubes down a river, when the man got off to look for someone's dropped cell phone from his party/group.
2 other young adult ladies got off of their tubes after hearing a bit of a ruckus, and confronted the man, that's when the fight started , The man ended up getting hit and pushed down into the water and kicked repeatedly, he got up and using his knife he carried for cutting the tubing strings, defended himself,
I believe there were 3 or 4 attackers, that were stabbed and/or cut And one did die of his injuries, very sad, but like Rittenhouse,, F-around & find out,, But somehow the jury decided that defending himself wasn't good enough of an excuse, they found him guilty of an aggravated charge and will slightly spend the rest of his life in jail, likely.
So when you're in Wisconsin, make sure you are properly beaten bloody and at the edge of your life before you defend yourself.
I sincerely hope won't have to go that far in Pennsylvania.

the problem with this country is the DNR and cops and game wardens ALL gave them selves permission to come onto private property at ANY time and we have grown used to letting them do it. we got into a BIG fight years ago with the DNR and game wardens. my cousin worked for the state so i said SURE disabled kids CAN come out and hunt my land. they were ALL supervised and 2 state employees were here also cause it was their program. THEN game wardens and DNR come storming in and the state employees could NOT believe i did NOT have a say in them staying off MY property! the DNR and game wardens even threatened to throw the 2 state employees in jail unless they complied 100%!!! even after the state employees showed them their state credentials!!!
