    From a family of mechanics, first thing my dad taught me was always take the old part to get the correct new one. In my mid 50's and still I haven't gotten that down, I end up taking parts back regularly.😂

    Empty manure pit!! Great job. Now you're filling it up again--endless cycle--fill and empty! Fill and empty!! Glad to see you were power washing the equipment. Makes it last a lot longer, and helps keep the decay away. Thanks Taylor!!

    I hate to preach but ik people who have been seriously injured or worse. When working on that loader or anything like that make sure you have a piece of angle iron made up to loack that cylinder from coming down if a line blows 😊 happy farming

    wow. I've been watching for a while now and seen you clean the pad and dump into the pit like this a couple of times before. But I never realized the hill you climb to get to dump over the pit wall was so steep. Good camera angle there. Ditto for the views from mounting on the front of the tractor and on the skid steer. Good job overall. Not that I know anything about camera work. I don't. I just liked it. Please don't apologize for getting dirty. You work hard and fearlessly. you are right there, jumping into whatever needs to be done and doing all you can without hesitation. That dirt is well-earned. I have tons of respect for you.

    For safety, the correct thing to do would be to replace the entire steering rod, as if it has excessive play it could fall. If you can, check the clearances in the steering parts, this will prevent future expenses. I say this because I'm a mechanic and I've also worked with agricultural equipment on a farm here in southern Brazil.

  • @dogmom6010

    Power steering is blessing but with heavy loads loader needs to be moving to turn. Lots of force is applied to front end when sitting still and turning the wheels. Looks great, smart move on cleaning the equipment. Very good idea on changing out the axle oil whilst your there. Kubota is good equipment. Brent must have had a job running heavy equipment sometime in his life. Find your boss a golf car to ride around in save his knees some. Thanks Taylor for another great wonderful video

    Manure handling is a never-ending job even with modest numbers of cattle. At least the steering linkage survived until the pit was emptied out. Cleaning the spreaders and tractors helps prevent them from corroding into oblivion. Many barn lot tractors turn from their factory-issued color to "manure brown"...making even routine lubrication a chore!!!

  • @johnnymayo8534
    @johnnymayo8534 24 дня назад

    At least that tie rod end let go when at a somewhat 'convenient' place & time! I find it interesting that vehicles, equipment and tools run and perform better when clean! I hope the rain subsides for a few days and you can enjoy some sun! Stay safe!

    Hello Taylor & Brent. Amen to all of the rain, rain and more rain because we have had our share of rain and thunderstorms here in Central Kentucky as well. A few days ago, I removed the fender pan from off of my small John Deere 165 lawn tractor and there was crud buildup everywhere it seemed. I have been soaking everything down with SuperClean and the torrential downpours have been doing the rest. I think my tractor must have had the original hydro drive belt from 1987 because the old belt sure was decrepit.,Just like your Kubota tractor, When things decide to break apart - As in my case, it was a really bad spot, Of Course. If you have a good machine shop locally, You may be able to get the oblong hole reamed our and maybe a piece of DOM tubing welded in as a bushing which would be a lot quicker process than ordering something from Kubota - Essentially from Japan. Your welder will know what I am referring to regarding your steering part. Best of luck to both of you regarding the repair work.

    Kubota’s have a ball valve on the loader lift circuit as a safety. Would be next to the quick coupler that connects the loader to the tractor valve. Just in front of the door on the right.

    • @berniewatts7598
      @berniewatts7598 23 дня назад

      That would be fine unless a hydraulic line burst on the loader. They make slotted pipe that hooks onto the lift cylinder to prevents it from physically falling. Nothing else I would support the bucket with a metal rod or wooden board.

    How does a person stay clean on a dairy farm? When I went to dairy school, I lived and worked on a Registered Holstein farm with a tie stall barn. After morning milking, the barn was cleaned and fresh limestone put down. Afterwards, I would go in and shower, then change into clean clothes for school. If I had to walk through the barn, I would walk down the middle of the 8 foot alley, on the fresh lime. By the time I would return to the milkhouse, I would have cow manure on me somewhere. I felt like Pigpen in the Peanuts comics. 50 years later and I still miss the dairy barn.
