Your professional instruction is without peer. Your technique , voice, syntax, and communication is excellent. No bull, you just jump in, which is quite refreshing.
stop kissing his ass
so artists start making clouds and say thanks to sir greg its best of the best
So glad I found your tutorials on acrylics! I have been wanting to move over from oil and knew there had to be a way to get it to dry slower! This is great! I picked up the Liquitex flow aid so I can give it a go! Thanks for sharing!
just found your tutorials and WOW!! always had a block with acrylics, but you have opened up my world!
Oh wow! Excellent! 👏🏻
Wow! I love your easy to understand instructions and can’t wait to try out your clouds! Thank you!!!

Thank you so much, Greg! Your tutorials help me a lot. Love your voice too.
This is beautiful ~ going to try this! Thank you for such a great tutorial 🤗
Clouds and rocks, potatoes for the sky and the ground; at least that's how they look in my paintings. Thank you for showing such a detailed approach. 💋
This is the first tutorial of clouds that have made sense to my simple mind lol thank you!
i just found your channel and i'm absolutely loving it! you make it all look so easy. thank you for sharing your videos with us!
Tkx so much for the help Greg.
Just found you, love your advice! I think what I absolutely love the most is your pan lol. Omg the crap I've picked up around the house to use as a palette! Keep up the great videos!
Very nice and well explaind.
Grazie Greg.
Many thanks for sharing your beautiful talent! You made it interesting and it was entertaining to say the least to watch you through each step. You made me believe that I can do this! Loved the tutorial and look forward to others.
I’ve been watching your videos and they’ve helped a ton! You’re awesome 👏 thank you! 💕
Brilliant thank you
Your voice is calming 🙂
I really love clouds and admire them daily. My painting of them are so disappointing to me. I just can’t seem to get my hand and brush to put on the canvas what’s in my mind. I appreciate your tutorial Greg, I’ll try your technique. Wish me patience and to be less critical of my work 😘
That was Awesome, I can't even put in words. How much you have
helped, with the blending. You explained every detail..
Thank you sooo much, I'm sure others feel the same.
I just Subbed!!!

Thank you 🥺
Would you draw and paint another gazelle 🙏🏻💛
Very well 👌explained
Here in Australia Liquitex Basics are not cheap.
Thank you so very much for this professional video. Some have not enough light, some I can't understand what they're saying, some they work so fast I can't really see how they're holding their brush, or what angle, some don't esplain so well as you do.
Thank you again for a definitive and just plain great video!
Glad it helped!
روعة❤
Thank you for the tip about using flow aid. No one as mentioned it😢😊
Watched again picked up tips
thankyou! finally a way of explaining I understand. can you explain something like pine trees? I can never master that
np at all & my forests playlist should have some pine tree paintings in there
Heads up people, you have to buy a membership to see the whole tutorial
Yes it was free for ~5 years so hopefully everyone took advantage of that, but moving forward it will be $1.99 for a month's access to part 2. Part 1 will stay free so that either way, you will still be able to get started in the right direction. Quality tutorials take a lot of time, work, and energy - I believe that this price is more than fair and is significantly lower than anyone else on RUclips that I have seen. Thank you for supporting the channel.
Did you let the background dry before starting on the clouds?
Yes let the background dry first then you do not have to worry about muddying your clouds with the blues.
Thank you Greg, I was wondering if you let the background dry before painting the clouds. There was a pause in the video so I wasn't sure if you were doing wet into wet or not? Grateful for your tutorials.
Yes, I let the background dry before working in the clouds. This way the colors in the clouds do not become polluted or muddied with the blues
@@GregLowmanArt I am truly grateful Greg. I'm so happy you teach acrylics, I am definitely going to paint along with your tutorial today, I am so inspired, thanks 👍❣️.
This is a great and helpful tutorial about painting clouds. Thanks for sharing it. One question, please- when you started to paint the grey bottoms, the background blue was already dry?
Yes I let the blue background dry before adding the clouds so that they didn't muddy.
Greg Lowman Many thanks for the info.
Great video! To get the best result, do I use gloss or matt varnish? Thanks!
I usually just go semi-gloss and get a bit of both &thanks glad it helped
Thanks for detailing everything. Will start pratice your methods. Do you have any link to buy scrub brush, i couldnt find one. Appreciate your help. Happy painting
no problem glad it helped. This is the one I was using: www.michaels.com/marseille-deerfoot-stippler-brush-artists-loft/10013388.html
👍👍❤SUPER
Fantastic Job! Thank you so much for posting this!! I was wondering if I might ask, is there a way to achieve your amazing results without using paint retardant?
Yes it could be done by just using water as a thinner, but the retardant certainly helps with the blending.
What a great video. I have painted this painting and it looks good except I made the gray too dark - I'm giving it another go today. Question: Do you allow the blue background to dry before beginning to paint the clouds? I've found the blue paint mixes with the gray and white unless I allow the background to dry completely. Thanks!
Yes let it dry so it doesn’t get muddy on you - good luck!
@@GregLowmanArt Thank you!
Greg, i am getting pretty good results with acrylic, should i not even bother trying oils....if it aint broke dont fix it....or is there a level you get to with acrylic and you realize maybe i can even take it a small step further with oils....
That's great and I wouldn't expect a big level-up, but they're worth trying out if you want to work on something w/ a lot of blending (mist, water, etc.). They stay wet for a long time and it makes that much easier. When it comes to details, clean lines, and brighter colors I prefer acrylics. Just depends on the subject really.
Do you keep doing l dipping your brush in the flow and water each time you load the brush with paint! Or just at the start with each colour?
Yes, I usually dip the brush in flow aid and water before putting on the main/different colors. Once the bulk of the cloud shape/color has been applied, I used a scrambler brush and break up/soften the edges while it dries by making small circles. This will give you the puffy/wispy effect.
Do you allow the background to dry before starting the clouds? Thanks!
Yes, so that the white of the clouds stayed clean and didn’t get muddled into the background blues
Even with retarder, you have to work v fast before the paint is too dry to blend.
yes gotta work fast
When I mix my blue and white they turn like more of a violet and they don't really turn that exact shade of blue so what else can I use
Hmm shouldn't turn violet on you unless you are mixing blue and red. Try phthalocyanine blue and titanium white - that pair seems to give the best/brightest blues for skies.
I'm new to painting, I like your easel, might you have a link to get one ??
Hi Kevin - VISWIN makes great easels, any of these should work for you: amzn.to/3O1rodM
So I guess the sky blue has to be dry before adding the clouds? Great, useful video thanks!
Yes, it is easier to let the background dry and then work in the clouds on top
Do you gesso your canvases prior?
No I like to keep a bit of texture for blending
@@GregLowmanArt hahaha... curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought it back. Thanks for replying.
Was the blue background wet or dry when you started laying the grey clouds plz
yes the blue background was dry before I started adding the clouds
Does anyone know how to paint nice fluffy clouds without blending aids or retarder and just plain acrylic paint, please, please, please, anybody?
Im new here, first hello. Can you please link tutorials that you done before when you talk about. Thanks 🙏:)
Sure the second cloud tutorial is here - ruclips.net/video/AjFHetM-sNY/видео.html
@@GregLowmanArt thank you 🙏
