I see your style is more Matti Hapooja and Peter McKinnon but when I found your channel you were more like Steven Tucker and other less clickbait/ you tuber style.
Bro please try to make a video on Cinestyle setting on Canon m50 I have installed that profiel in my camera but the result aree way bad in videos and in Portrait they aree extremely bad please make a video on Cinestyle or C-log settings for canon M50❤️❤️❤️
Is the lens stabilisation working in combination with the digital IS of non ibis Canon cameras? I can remember that it produced severe micro shakes when both were activated.
Hey, Jodok! I'm using K&F or Gobe but they're pretty cheap. The quality is not top notch like the $150 dollar versions. That being said, for me, for RUclips, I don't have any issues with the quality.
The main issue I have with this lens is that the main review channels don't seem to have proper reviews on this? Like why? Jared Polin, T&C Northrup, DPReview, The Camera Store, what gives? I don't get it. This is one of the best lenses for the RF system, but they're not interested. Thanks for making this video.
Which one to buy for Canon R6 MII Rf 35 1.8 or Sigma 1.4 Art for both video and photo. There is no IS in sigma for video will it be a problem and also the sound for focusing motor on sigma for video is it loud?
Hi Joris, Thanks for the Review. If you could pls compare this lense with 50mm/f1.8 ? (For APS-C sensor Camera) I want to know which one is better. Thanks for your informative videos 👍👍👍👍 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for review! Compared to Nikon 35/1.8 S (for stills): + cheaper + lighter + smaller + macro capability! - AF noise - weather sealing - lens flare Summary: if I bought Canon R5/R6 I would buy this lens. Great lens, has few minor disadvantages only. Very good for travel. Nikon lens size is sometimes annoying when you do not want to take photo bag/backpack.
So far the R5 is awesome. For stills it’s perfect for me. For video, not sure yet. Gonna use the 4K more in the next few weeks to find out if the overheating is a problem for me... fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Great review and amazing thumbnail, mate! 🔥👍 It’s very useful to see and here the difference of noise regard the autofocus motor. Thank you for that 🙂 I’m currently limiting myself to the gear I have now and learn with what I have (and that’s cringe a lot 😅). But autofocus with F1.8 might be something for the future 🤓 Do you still have it use it for your latest videos?
Joris Hermans Thank you. I appreciate you getting back so fast! And from one camera lover to another… Your stuff is great. Going to subscribe to all of your social media. Keep the nice visuals coming!
I’m in the same boat, have the L lens but needed the extra low light capability so I went with an affordable option, 35mm 1.8 . I like having these 2 on me. Next up is a nice telephoto lens for shooting sports
Hello and thank you for this videos and these beautiful photos! Personally I really like my Combo. Canon RP + RF 50mm f1.8 stm. I hesitate to buy this RF 35 f1.8 Macro as well, because I'm not sure it really gives me much more than with my RF 50mm ? What do you think ?
@@JorisHermans Indeed, I am waiting for Canon to give us an RF 24mm or RF 28mm ! I tried the RF 16mm f2.8 for two days, I was a little disappointed because too many distortions or you have to straighten each photo in the retouch software, and, especially 16mm, it is too much of an angle of view. wide for me! While waiting for an RF 24 or 28mm, I therefore use on my RP the RF 50 f1.8 and with an RF-EF adapter ring I use my adorable little Pancake EF 40mm f2.8 stm which is now useful for me. Countryside !

Hey Ray! I use the cheap brand Gobe. Now, the quality is not top notch. There’s a bit vignetting and color shift when you go really dark but I don’t mind. I tend to break a lot of filters so that’s why I stick with cheap ones 😂🙏🏻💥
Great video. I have eos rp & shoot: 70% video & 30% photography 1st lens is rf 35mm & what do u reccomend for a 2nd lens that is light/travel friendly, day & night use. Im thinking the nifty fifty rf lens?? Please reply & Cheers

i have the same lens too, it is amazing for photography. However, for video, the autofocus is super slow, especially for macro distance. It also goes off all the time, don't really recommend it for video.

Oli :D Here in Belgium is 20 euros more expensive than the 35mm 😉
On amazon 35 is 100€ more expensive than 24-105 f4-7.1 but that doesn’t matter... Great video as always :D
Nope, doesn’t matter! 😄 Thanks, man! 🙏🏻💥
Joris by the way would you recommend canon eos rp now in 2020?
Tough question because I heard somewhere that Canon will announce the successor to the rp. Have you thought about getting a second hand EOS R?
Thanks for the bit about autofocus being quiet in video mode - that's the piece of data I needed to know.

If I already have the 24 - 105 f4 L on an EOS R, do you think this lens is worth getting to have the 1.8 f stop range?
Yeah, definitely. The shallow depth of field is going to give you more creative options and low light capability.

Have you used an ND filter on this lens? If yes! Please do recommend one
I use the K&F Concept 52mm ND Filter for this lens and love it. Also same brand 77m for my 24-105
I really like this, but then saw the Sigma’s bokeh and it blew me away. Which do you recommend between the two for bokeh?
I guess if you shoot an R mount camera, I’d go for the Canon because then you’ll be able to use all the extras the R mount offers.
What lens would you recommend for strictly video use? I’m looking to start with just one versatile lens
Kind of depends on what kind of video you usually shoot. Something very versatile would by a standard zoom. 24mm to 70mm or 18 to 55...
