The symbolism behind the entire thing was incredible. Dre in the studio, bringing the music to life. I've been to those landmarks on the stage. I'm biased as a hiphop head....I know Prince and Mike had incredible performances but this one is the greatest halftime performance of all time to me
Best Half Time Show ever. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time. I don t think they can make a better half time show than this. And as always amazing reaction Knox ty
This was the best half time I have seen! I’m 41 so grew up on these. As much as I’m a rock/metal head I love rap and hip hop too! And like you I loved Em taking a knee 🖤
Mannn, I watched this with my wife who kept telling me to be quiet, but I couldn’t help but be super hyped up! Love seeing other people losing their shit at this awesome performance! Love you Knox!
As a Compton and LBC native, this brought the biggest smile while watching. Which is funny because I never appreciated rap when I was younger but have grown to love and respect it now as an adult. ♡
You must either be very young, or just haven't seen many SB HT Shows. Very, VERY good Show... But it barely cracks TOP-3 IMO, and I'm a huge hip-hop head. There were a lot of dope moments, but also a ton of disappointing ones which (again IMO) definitely knock it down a few pegs.
So gracious for Dr Dre to have a football game at his concert! 32 years of my life rolled up into a halftime show. I'm 38 years old been listening to rap music since I was 6. First rap song I ever heard sugar Hill gang . Thanks Mom! Lucky to have parents that are musicians and love every genre music! Because of my parents I have an amazing musical education! They believed in freedom to express yourself through music no matter what type of music touched you. Because music is a language that we all can speak and feel. I make sure my 10-year-old son does the same. Some of his music not a fan but it's all good I let him listen to whatever he wants. Him being 10 years old no so many different genres of music right now that most 18 year olds don't listen to. That's because he is introduced to so many genres of music between his father and I. 💕 Great video BTW thank you for breaking it down!
This will go down as one of the best half time shows ever. In my lifetime I can only think of Prince jamming out to Purple Rain while it was raining in Miami as coming close. They killed it! So much nostalgia and joy jamming out to this. It was hilarious watching all my friends and family in our late 20's-40's dancing and singing along to this while the kids just stared on laughing.
Yea I think prince will always be top, but this halftime performance is right under at the #2 spot. I firmly believe that bc these 2 performances are prime examples of you can actually do a live superbowl halftime show without pre-recording, pre-taping, and lip syncing. I was disappointed to find out that Whitney's Star Spangled Banner performance was pre-recorded than she lip synced the entire song and her performance was also not live when it was showed to the audience at home. Matter of fact other than MJ and maybe Beyonce I really didn't find any other artist that didn't lip sync.
Michael Jacksons was even better than Prince. This was definitely a great show, kudos to Dre for the production, but I still can't stop thinking about all the kids having to wear a mask for 8 hours a day, and yet nobody was wearing on at the Superbowl. Guess our future kids are going to be slaves.
@@kennycab3374 yep and most of those people not wearing mask have been whining about non-mask wearer since the beginning. Like, how many people has LeBron kicked out games bc they took off their mask..
as a fan on Knox. And watching this reaction, he's such a scholar of hip hop, that he knows and respects the 'culture' so much that it's just a joy to watch his reactions. I appreciate that he's teaching and from a older guy, knox is amazing.
Ok. I gotta say, this has to be one of THE best reactions I’ve seen. I ADORE that you caught the symbolism and double entendres throughout. The whole “Em Kneeling” thing…well first of all you KNOW once they told him “eh no” he’s like “heh f*ck you. Imma do what I want”. Snoop is like “y’all want me to tone it down? Aight Imma crank it up”. I LOVE the double meaning of the knee. Just sooo much homage paid. And then there’s the whole “Snoop caught smoking weed before the show” “issue”. I saw that in headlines and was like “And in other news, the sky is blue.” Like y’all it’s Snoop. Dude straight up said he smoked in the White House. 🤣🤣🤣
It'll be a long time before we get a halftime show this great, but more importantly we will never see another group of artists like them in music. So much history and influence between all of them 🙌
I commend you for holding out watching it so we could get a reaction! 👏 You’re awesome! That was the best halftime show for me! I was screaming in my living room 🤣🔥
Terrific analysis and reaction. So much symbolism throughout. We'll need to watch, rewatch, rewatch again, and again... So much to unpack. Did you trip the Snoop Dogg portrait on the wall. LOL!
Dre also produced “no more drama” this was the one that triggered me to start thinking about Dre’s overall message for this. Think about it…starts out exciting the masses, then - no more drama, we gone be alright, don’t blow this shot… All the while there was this theme of “you forget i/we are still here” to the establishment or haters and basically a “rise up, stand strong” call to the people. They are all so good at intertwining many powerful messages. Very relevant to what/how so many are battling to overcome right now and every one of these GOATs could fill a novel on their one stories of overcoming and thriving and choosing to use their story to reach others is inspiring to me
Glad I caught your reaction! You picked up on things no one else mentioned, especially the little connections and symbolisms that helped make this performance incredibly cohesive from such varied artists. And glad you also gave Anderson his props as well! Perhaps in the future he will be a part of another half-time show!
Snoop, em, 50, mary, and kendrick all singing the ablibs "still" when dre was rapping was LEGENDARY plus, the camera work during kendricks time was AMAZING. His alright performance was so slept on
I was up until about 3 a.m. in Croatia, waiting it on youtube, I just couldn't sleep. They were great! And when Dre started to play "I ain't mad at cha'" I had a tear in my eye..Wish 2Pac was there too. But they gave him flowers as they should ❤
Dude you had the BEST reaction video. It is the knowledge that you brought to it and finding those easter eggs. Good stuff. Thanks for hip hop education.
I say this rates at the top of superbowl performance. It will be hard to top this next year and after. Amazing talent. Wish we had 30 more minutes in the future.
My dad raised me on this music. Too Short is one of my favorites of old school hip-hop. I thank my dad every single day for it. I had my mom watch my youngest so I wasn't distracted because I'll be damned if I was gonna miss this. To see this in my life, to see history being made, to legitimately tearing up was everything. The greats have put in enough time and effort into the game that they don't have to listen to anyone. And look how damn happy Dre looked!!! I think in that moment he realized he's changed the world with his music, production, and the lives of so many. Honestly, where would rap and hip-hop be without Dre? The way Kendrick and Em were set up for "Forgot About Dre" and how the crowd went nuts shows that NOBODY forgot Dre. He deserved this. Regardless, I hope this paved the way to see so much more rap and hip-hop in halftime shows in the future. I was also low-key hoping we'd get a Pac hologram too.
I absolutely loved when all the dancers in hoodies started charging the stage in front of Em and made it look like a rap battle scene. Great choreography😎
I have been watching reaction videos of the halftime show all week and honestly yours is by far my favorite. I keep watching and finding the little nuggets that other people notice that I didn't and you hit Every. Single. One... and more. Great job!!!
I love the synbolism behind the placement of each artist and especially Kendrick. First of all, his choreography and never missing a beat with the dancers plus remembering new/changed lyrics, but the way he bows down whenever he sings "We Gon Be Alright".. hes speaking to the people of Compton
Hey Knox Hill, I have already watched this coverage in several guises...straight copy, and different artists attending the game reacting, but your breakdown brought tears to my eyes...Great job!!!
Em and Snoop didn't give an f about what NFL wanted. That's some Slim Shady moment by Em. I wish Em had more songs to perform though. It shouldn't just have been a 15 min show but at least an hour. They had so much more to offer. And what if they all combined to perform a single song with individual rap pieces put together?!!!
This was the best half time show I've ever watched !!! Boomers still think this music is crap. Music is rarely appreciated by generations who were old when that music came out. That's you with modern hip hop. You're not in a position to judge how good it is compared to 90s hip hop because you don't understand what's coming out right now - it's not relevant to you or your lifestyle. Music of every generation represents what *that* generation wants and what's relevant to them. Whether you're able to appreciate it or not, classics will come out of today's hip hop just like classics eventually came out of 90s hip hop - despite Boomers believing that there is no intrinsic value in 90s music. And in a few decades, 90s hip hop will sound so outdated that no one will really appreciate it anymore. It'll sound like the equivalent of ragtime music from 1901. It won't mean that it's not good music compared to what's being put out in 2090, but it's an example of how tastes change by generation - and it says nothing about the intrinsic value of a generation's music. Music is primarily for the time in which it was created. I wish people would stop feeling the need to down modern music in order to compliment the music they grew up with.

I love how Knox looked like a little boy who got all his wishes! Especially when Em came on your face lit up ❤
The fact that you can clearly see Anderson saying "mom's spaghetti" made me unreasonably happy
I was in tears!! :) This is it. The legends of hip-hop. It was such a nostalgia and I was taken to my childhood!! 🔥 Absolute brilliance!! 🥃
Preach buddy I was too this took me back to my shitty upbringing these guys helped me through tough times
I grew up on all of these tracks and to watch it all come alive at the superbowl had me literally in goosebumps when I was watching it. Unreal.
This was so LEGENDARY! I am not even a 90s kid, but damn it was the time hip hop was at its finest!
Music‘s from the early 2000‘s tho
@@Erg893 and if you were into that music you probably were a 90s kid, meaning you were a kid in the 90s, and a teen in the early 2000s.
@@Erg893 the Dre albums they played songs from and the 2pac song came out in the 90s
I grew up listening to legends in the 80s and 90s. Run DMC, NWA, Beastie Boys, and so many others. Showing my age.
@@Dezzyyx I‘m a 80s kid bro. Still bumpin these
Mannn, I watched this with my wife who kept telling me to be quiet, but I couldn’t help but be super hyped up! Love seeing other people losing their shit at this awesome performance! Love you Knox!
The moment Em comes it's like everyone stops breathing for a second, me included. And Kendrick fits in so well, his part was amazing
How nice of Eminem, Dre, Mary, snoop, 50 and Kendrick to allow the superbowl to attend their own concert.
Ikr!
This show was amazing. The No More Drama breakdown with the "Head Over Heels" track mixed in was fire. Kendrick crushed it, all of them crushed it
As a Compton and LBC native, this brought the biggest smile while watching. Which is funny because I never appreciated rap when I was younger but have grown to love and respect it now as an adult. ♡
Genius. Every second of the performance had meaning. This is the GOAT Superbowl Half time show.
I enjoyed how Knox enjoyed this he was like a kid in a candy store just the pure joy in this reaction. Great video bro 👍🏿
It was like the Avengers reunion but in hip hop, legendary
I'm subscribing to your channel, not only for your reaction to the performances, but for your respect for hip hop music .👏🏽✊🏾✌🏽
It was insane!! Had no sleep at all but it was 💯 worth it! I need another one 🔥🔥 They all killed it!
Me too lol

@@KnoxHill wow they paid homage to TuPaC!!! Wooooow!!
Thanks Knox...needed a big smile this morning. You always provide one 😁
Oh man what a ride
Kendrick definitely had the best Superbowl Halftime performance. That choreography and the energy he brought there was something else!
for sure man
Def but I didn’t like the censorship 🤷♂️
Nah dre had the best one
hes always great
@@pat.tt.ttt_ neither do I but they could get sued for profanity cause football is a family thing 🥲😒
Started to worry when you paused Fifty… feels like you’re keeping the poor man hanging
Lmao
😂😂
The camerawork for the half time show was chefs kiss! It really caught everything so well!
LOVED that Em wouldn't commit without 50 being included... and also gave up more music time for Dre to perform. He is the epitome of respect!
I stayed up here in Scotland to watch.. absolute fire 🔥🔥🔥 the nostalgia is real!
What a moment! Haha that’s awesome
I been listening to it all day long, super hype! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽😍👋
So much history and influence between all of them 🙌
Just wait for the hologram tour of the Rat Pack. lol
Dre looked SO happy and proud, i'm so glad he still with us after his health scare. What a show, felt like a teenager again
I commend you for holding out watching it so we could get a reaction! 👏 You’re awesome! That was the best halftime show for me! I was screaming in my living room 🤣🔥
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Knox so happy.
So amazing of you to hold off to share this moment with us Knox. Giddy with excitement!
Terrific analysis and reaction. So much symbolism throughout. We'll need to watch, rewatch, rewatch again, and again... So much to unpack. Did you trip the Snoop Dogg portrait on the wall. LOL!
The level of respect that, Dre commands...to be able to get all these icons on 1 stage!
Dre also produced “no more drama” this was the one that triggered me to start thinking about Dre’s overall message for this. Think about it…starts out exciting the masses, then - no more drama, we gone be alright, don’t blow this shot…
All the while there was this theme of “you forget i/we are still here” to the establishment or haters and basically a “rise up, stand strong” call to the people. They are all so good at intertwining many powerful messages. Very relevant to what/how so many are battling to overcome right now and every one of these GOATs could fill a novel on their one stories of overcoming and thriving and choosing to use their story to reach others is inspiring to me
Dre didn't produce No More Drama Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did however the song still fit whats going on
Mary ripped my heart out with No More Drama. And she did NOT disappoint with the shoe game
Glad I caught your reaction! You picked up on things no one else mentioned, especially the little connections and symbolisms that helped make this performance incredibly cohesive from such varied artists. And glad you also gave Anderson his props as well! Perhaps in the future he will be a part of another half-time show!
My favorite part of this entire show was watching Snoop having that much fun
Thank you for this genuine first reaction. We appreciate you brotha! Keep doing your thing. React to Long Beach Griffin Rap Bars
Ayyyyyy best halftime show ever history been made
Haha I loved it man
Snoop, em, 50, mary, and kendrick all singing the ablibs "still" when dre was rapping was LEGENDARY
plus, the camera work during kendricks time was AMAZING. His alright performance was so slept on
Knox, loved watching you get excited and enjoy this performance!
I still get goosebumps every single time I watch this.
They made HISTORY 🐐🎤💯💥
Love how you explained Kendricks inside the box thing
I was up until about 3 a.m. in Croatia, waiting it on youtube, I just couldn't sleep. They were great! And when Dre started to play "I ain't mad at cha'" I had a tear in my eye..Wish 2Pac was there too. But they gave him flowers as they should ❤
This half time show was EPIC. 💥This was indeed a moment for hip-hop & the culture. Thank you for your honest reaction it was entertaining 👍✌✋👊.
I was so hyped for this halftime show, will go down in history as one of the best. Legendary, looking forward to your reaction to it!
Dude you had the BEST reaction video. It is the knowledge that you brought to it and finding those easter eggs. Good stuff. Thanks for hip hop education.
Dre looked so happy! This was lit🔥 I loved the nostalgia of it all.
Great review. You pointed out details I missed, like the map on the ground, thanks.
Fyi no more drama from Mary is actually very fitting with this world we’re in, and one of my favorites.
I say this rates at the top of superbowl performance. It will be hard to top this next year and after. Amazing talent. Wish we had 30 more minutes in the future.
Great day for hip hop and the culture. When I was listening to hip-hop in the 80s I didn't think I would ever see hip hop evolved into what it is. 👏
Absolutely loved the performance and the game was crazy good too!! 🔥🔥🔥
Me too. What a show and moment
@@KnoxHill 👊🙏👊
I absolutely loved when all the dancers in hoodies started charging the stage in front of Em and made it look like a rap battle scene. Great choreography😎
I saw Em sing Lose Yourself on tv and I thought that drummer was just living his best life. I had no idea that was Anderson Paak lmao
I have been watching reaction videos of the halftime show all week and honestly yours is by far my favorite. I keep watching and finding the little nuggets that other people notice that I didn't and you hit Every. Single. One... and more. Great job!!!
That's a little "Smoke Tour 2" here !! So dope !!! The moment with Dre playing piano in tribute of 2pac , goosebumps.
I love the synbolism behind the placement of each artist and especially Kendrick. First of all, his choreography and never missing a beat with the dancers plus remembering new/changed lyrics, but the way he bows down whenever he sings "We Gon Be Alright".. hes speaking to the people of Compton
I loved the show but you providing details about things I missed made it a better experience!
That’s what I’m here for! Thanks for supporting 🤟
That's not a Shady moment, that's Marshall to the core 🤘
@@LuxFuxx I agree that the symbolism was deep and was definitely Marshall. But the f them attitude is possibly Shady?
This was the best half time show I've ever watched !!! Brought me back to the old days when I was still in school & young & having all the fun in the world with my friends & enjoying the best music ever , because now a days the hip hop can't even come close to as good as it was back then 💯🔥❤️! Loved your reaction Knox !! You looked Soo happy the entire time , it was nice to see you enjoy yourself Soo much . This definitely was a Dr. Dre show !! Dre hasn't lost it , not one bit 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dr dre turned into nick fury and formed the hip hop avengers
oh my god ... as a 90's hip hop fan from Korea.... it was AMAZING HALF TIME SHOW EVER !!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Especially eminem's Lose your self , snoop's Nex episod..................damnnnnn!!! my favorite 90's early 20's songs ~!!!!! i was like rapping along crazyyy together in front of monitor lol !!!
