@steelionx9255 As the saying goes, better late than never. And I'm well aware of the company that owns both. But they used to have their own production regardless of whom owned them. And I liked that more than their identical production now.
The. Best. Intro. Ever. This just reminds me of traditional programs playing each other. Reminds me of when my UW Huskies had epic matchups with Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Id watch CFB on ABC right after Saturday Morning cartoons. Great CFB memory from my childhood.
WHOOOOOOOOOA NEEEELIE!!!!!! Napoleon Kaufman down the sidelines!!! to the 15... 10... the 5..... TOUCHDOWN Washington!!!! My goodness that Napoleon Kaufman is something special.....
I am Keith Jacksoooon along with Booooooooob Griese along the San Gabriel Mountains at the Rose Bowl to watch an epic shodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan between the Washington Huskies and the Meeeeeechigan Wolverines!!! Classic
This brings back so many memories. Washington Huskies battling in the Rose Bowl vs Michigan or our games vs Nebraska in the early 90s; two traditional powers duking it out in a night game with Kieth Jackson calling the action. THAT'S college football.
This theme makes me think of Desmond Howard returning the punt for a touchdown against Ohio State in 1991 and striking the Heisman Trophy pose afterwards. While you can hear Keith Jackson yelling: "Goodbye!" Hello Heisman!"
Thank you for uploading this. Childhood memories growing up in the 1990s watching ABC College Football on Saturdays just flooding back. RIP Keith Jackson.
Thanks to being a collector of vintage College Football games on DVD, I can't watch the Miami (FL) battles against Penn State and Florida State from 1991-93, the Ohio State/Michigan battles and many others without hearing this legendary theme. The College Basketball version was outstanding as well.
+Allen Greene One of the best nights of my life as an Alabama fan. The 92 National title against Miami is still my favorite although I have enjoyed these past 4 recently.
+rockbama I'm no Alabama fan but I'll admit that team was a throwback of how Alabama used to be under Bear Bryant. If you liked physical Football that 92 team was physical and tough. I know the Bear and Nick Saban are great coaches but it's a shame that Gene Stallings doesn't get the credit that he deserves. His tenure at Alabama was very successful.
ABC broadcasts can use this theme for noon games. 3:30 ABC broadcasts can use the 1994 and 1997 themes. Saturday Night Football can use the 1998-2011 bowl game theme. And ESPN cable networks can return to the 1992 theme. All of these are far more memorable than the current theme music.
Yeah, I remember that game, I was nine-years old sitting in front of the TV at home. And watching Michigan get their asses kicked in that game by Casey Welson, Amp Lee and company still resonates 31-years later.
Good evening everybody this is BRET Muscberger were here today for exiting game between the Trojans of Usc and The Buckeyes of Ohio state. Its the 95Th Tournamen of the Roses and It's gonna be dandy one
I was a little boy in the living room watching this in Hitchcock Texas in the projects holding a football with snacks with friends day and night i had a floor model 📺
Reminds me of Washington vs Michigan in the Rose Bowl in 1992. That Husky team was one of the best of all time. Dominated Michigan for the national title. UW and Michigan have had classic Rose Bowl matchups over the years. Here's to it happening again this season. Man, Saturday morning cartoons then settling in for some Husky football. Keith Jackson on the call....the good old days. Glad Chris Petersen appears to be returning us to national relevance.
I remember this from the first time I saw the big game with Michigan VA Ohio State, California vs Stanford, and the first ever SEC championship. ...Alabama vs Florida.
Keith Jackson: That crisp outline of the San Gabriel Mountains-- Jason Sklar: It's so crisp, the hair on my inner thigh is standing at attention like a windsock at O'Hare Airport.
EDIT: this is Kalehoff, the track name is College Football Charlie. Someone on a video of the similar basketball theme said this was composed by Edd Kalehoff, as it sounded like Double Dare. Can anyone confirm?
They should go back to using this theme on ABC afternoon college football games, so that the ESPN theme remains unique to ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN3/ESPNU, and Saturday Night games on ABC can still use the BCS theme
I remember that this title graphic was originally cgi animated, with a big build-up in the music at the intro with a football going through the goalposts and into the letters which lighted up.
I know the SEC has just ended with CBS and the intro, etc , I am a Bama fan but I go back to ABC as that is where my memories began. The various ABC intros, Chris Schenkel and Bud, Keith and Ara, Keith and Frank, Keith and Bob Griese. I'm glad the SEC is back on ABC. ABC was the original college football saturday and I'm excited to See Bama play UT, Auburn, Oklahoma on ABC again.
Love the theme especially with the drums in the background, instruments that you would associate with a college band. Wish all college football music themes would have music related to marching bands.
All the networks should go back to the way it was. No more joint networks like ABC abd ESPN. CBS going back showing all college games and not just SEC games.
Wow, you got the whole song. But is it just me or does it seem a little bit sped up compared to the in game broadcasts I've seen this. It was used from 1990-1993 by the way.
@glory789 It was the 1989-1990 season if I'm not mistaken... before that, ABC sports had the same theme song for all sports but a different version for each (college football, NFL, WWS, etc.)
Reminds me of the 1992 USF&G Sugar Bowl Noter Dame Fighting Irish vs Florida Gators. Notre Dame wins 39-28. I hate ESPN even if i still watch football on their networks. ESPN Sucks! They help ruin ABC Sport then they ruin them selfs. College GameDay has gone down the dumps. This was when ABC College Football Sports was at its best Rock On Awesome.
@mrudebec CBS had the Big Ten in 1985 and 1986. I think ABC took over in 1987 but I swear the 1988 Miami (FL) at Michigan game was on CBS. could be wrong.
During the time this theme was used, ABC aired a college football-themed sitcom, Coach.
Hate how ABC and ESPN are seemingly rolled into the same network now.I like back then ABC had it's own identity.
They're both owned by Disney.
So freaking what if I'm 8 years late! You know that it's never too late to respond.
@steelionx9255 As the saying goes, better late than never. And I'm well aware of the company that owns both. But they used to have their own production regardless of whom owned them. And I liked that more than their identical production now.
Keith Jackson, Bob Griese, Jack Arute. Wonderful memories!
The. Best. Intro. Ever.
This just reminds me of traditional programs playing each other. Reminds me of when my UW Huskies had epic matchups with Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Id watch CFB on ABC right after Saturday Morning cartoons. Great CFB memory from my childhood.
Those were the days and you know that Keith Jackson RIP had the Call
If you were a fan of an ACC school during this era and you heard this at 3:30, this was the song that meant “you’re in the Big Game this week.”
Luv it
I miss those days. I don't miss going to school though. I hated school with a passion.
This is the theme song that makes me love college football in the early 90’s!! Gives me goosebumps! I can hear Keith Jackson yelling “OOOH NELLY!!!”
Classic
Nothing like Saturday morning cartoons....then college football.
FACTS and if I'm not mistaken didn't it start with Richie Rich and then went to Hanna and Barbera and then to American Bandstand with Dick Clark!
The best theme ever. Those cool saturday mornings on campus, the beers, the girls... The years which should have never ended...
Thank Bill Clinton's Telecommunications Act.
Well the SC just killed affirmative action, so…..
While you can hear Keith Jackson yelling: "Goodbye!" Hello Heisman!"
slickrick51583 I was there, age 8. Still gives me chills of joy!
Yeah really! The only thing missing from this video is Keith Jackson's voice over.
This college football song, Keith Jackson and the 1991 Rose Bowl intro between Iowa & Washington
Thank you for uploading this. Childhood memories growing up in the 1990s watching ABC College Football on Saturdays just flooding back. RIP Keith Jackson.
This gives me Goosebumps!

This music makes me think of the 1993 Sugar Bowl theme between Alabama and Miami. Roll Keith Jackson Roll!!
Good old Saturdays in the fall. Ribs, BBQ chicken, burgers, dogs, pizza, chips, soda or beer. At a tailgate or home. It was all good.
David Smith I agree David back when College Football was fun to watch now it just sucks! By the way your making me hungry talking about all that Food!
Curtis Sharpe loved this theme.👍
@@bobbyyoung4243 ruclips.net/video/P2eK6ZS6fzw/видео.html loved this theme used after timeouts/breaks in action...
A theme when college football was football and not all hyped up like these days.
This reminds me of my teenage years on Saturdays. This song for some reason evokes powerful emotions.
Could Bring This back for Saturday Afternoons in 2024
I used to love this theme!
Used to?!?
You Are Looking LIVE!!..
This is childhood right here.
I loved this college football theme. Just watched the 1990 Peach Bowl earlier this week between Auburn and Indiana with this theme at the beginning.
"ABC Sports College Football Presents. The USF&G Sugar Bowl. Number 1 Miami. Number 2 Alabama."
+Allen Greene One of the best nights of my life as an Alabama fan. The 92 National title against Miami is still my favorite although I have enjoyed these past 4 recently.

USF&G standin' behind me, that's the way it's supposed to be!
@@rockbama better coach in your opinion bryant or saban
Best. Night. Ever. 😂😂😂
The Tide Thrashed the Canes.
It would be cool if the four-letter Network brought this theme back for the 2019 season
William Yeager They need to do something because the current theme sucks.
Wow, back when I was young, such fond memories. This takes me back specifically to a matchup between Florida St and Michigan in September 1991.
Yeah, I remember that game, I was nine-years old sitting in front of the TV at home. And watching Michigan get their asses kicked in that game by Casey Welson, Amp Lee and company still resonates 31-years later.
That was a tough one as we missed opportunities and FSU capitalized on theirs.
Bring back this theme music!!!..
CBS is the only network that still uses its classic college football theme. I want ABC afternoon broadcasts to start using this theme again next year.
for 2017 Season on ABC
That or the 94-96 theme
Forget it.

This was the anthem for Beno Bryant Napoleon Kaufman Greg lewis Desmond Howard Darien Hagan Eric bienemey, etc.....!
B4 going out 2 play football ALL-DAY Saturdays as a Gen X-er. If I didn't here dis opening I would probably DIE. '17.
Did Brent and Keith Jackson ever do many with this. Number 1 or 2 in my book
The best college intro ALL TIME 😎
I remember this from the first time I saw the big game with Michigan VA Ohio State, California vs Stanford, and the first ever SEC championship. ...Alabama vs Florida.
Keith Jackson: That crisp outline of the San Gabriel Mountains--
Jason Sklar: It's so crisp, the hair on my inner thigh is standing at attention like a windsock at O'Hare Airport.
This is my favorite ABC Sports college football theme. I remember this from watching games when I was a little kid.

The best one man I miss the 90s
Someone should do a one hour loop n this theme
Wow this only took 17 years to find. Thanks!
Great memories ❤
This song feels like Notre Dame at Michigan, noon ET!
Makes me want to watch BAMA crush the Canes in the 93 Sugar Bowl to win the NC and end the Miami dynasty. RTR!
The Horseshoe from Columbus, Ohio…Keith Jackson! GO BUCKS!
Yes! the whole song! *bows down for all eternity*
two words..Keith Jackson.
This is great
Brent Munsburger: ABC Sports Present This CFA Matchup from the Southeastern Conference Auburn, Alabama ! You Don't Have to say anything else
DeAngelo Stevens War Eagle!!
ABC College Football Saturday Morning at 11:00 ON WBRC-TV Channel 6 late 80's early 90's era
@mistercurious1000 But didn't it use a square box for replays (cbs) instead of the vertical bars (like ABC)?
I have seen it reaired on ESPN Classic.
All the networks should go back to the way it was. No more joint networks like ABC abd ESPN. CBS going back showing all college games and not just SEC games.

Welcome to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska!
This theme reminds me of when L.S.U. played Ohio State in 1988. One of my favorite ABC College Football themes.
My Arizona Wildcats with the upset of the Washington Huskies in 1992
Awesome!!!
I like this. I've been tapping my foot the whole time.
keith jackson here on a warm fall evening
The urgency!
Send the audio file to TelevisionTunes (dot) com. It only has the first 26 seconds.

Go Irish! 😁
When did ABC take over for CBS for the Big Ten. Many Iowa games in 1985 were on CBS, just wondering when ABC took over the rights.
This is my fav College Football theme music even better than CBS
1993 Auburn Tigers were banned from the championship
@mrudebec CBS had the Big Ten in 1985 and 1986. I think ABC took over in 1987 but I swear the 1988 Miami (FL) at Michigan game was on CBS. could be wrong.
Knightmessenger The Miami-Michigan game in '88 was an ABC broadcast. Keith Jackson and Bob Griese did the game.
@Knightmessenger
At the start of the 93 season the music changed.
Frank Phucherie They actually changed from this theme after the '93 season.
I Liked the one in early 2000's. it sucks that Espn took it over
!!!!!!!
I wasn't born yet!!! I was born in 1994!!!
good initially gets annoying now it's stuck in my head!!!
Legion Field Birmingham Alabama
Not a espn cpey
I always thought this sounded like some lame Disney music. The CBS College Football theme was the baddest.
Theme now sounds like Darth Vader NFL hot CFP garbage.
I always thought this one was terrible.
