I purpurchased my fa5 back in 2019 for 5.8k with 115k miles, and now at 148k miles and people are offering me 10k-12k the market for these are crazy especially if u got a fa5.
They are great for boost lmao, love zosh but the z7 def isn’t a trash motor, yeah fbo isn’t the best on the cars, but idk what dude had fbo on that car and it only made 197 lol they consistently make 220-230 fbo. But boost is where the money is made with these cars.

Agreed the only bad thing about these cars is the crammed engine bay and the trans are bad on these cars maybe it’s just k series lol other than that best civic generation.
8th gen SI's are the last real true vtec hondas ever built in my humble opinion, I'm older and grew up playing with B-series motors and B16 trannies , had a highly modified and built 91crx that was basically built to be a canyon car or track car , but even with a non VTec b18 bolted to a cable b16 tranny I still ran a 13.6@111mph on my first ever pass on all season tires basically , couldn't run a second run because they woulsnt let me due to running to far out of the bracket I claimed and didn't have a fire suit , yeah they actually make you wear a helmet and fire suit in amything 13.9 or faster , rediculous. But just wanted to say keep this car bro dont ever sell it , you'll never stop missing it I guarantee you that, and I'll just add that that k20 sounds absolutely amazing , you get a thumbs up from me , save a couple Grand and put stage 2 or 3 cams , dual valve springs and retainers in it with a typeS oil pump with a skunk2 pro series intake manifold and J35 throttle body, get her retuned and you'll be making a serious amount of HP for just a little 2.0 , at least if it's in the hands of a competent tuner that is. 👍
If your going to get a type s tho I'd also highly recommend getting an 05/06. Those 02-04 weak even W bolt ons there just as fast as tho refreshed 05/06 .

The key to getting the z7’s is the intake manifold and RSX type s fuel pump. 8100 redline and that top end power you would feel from the K20. Love both engines but still would’ve loved to get a 8th gen, only reason I got a 9th gen is because it’s just way more modern and I wanted a good interior. Both great cars Honda4L
Something was wrong with the dyno or tune, FBO 9th gens are known to make about 220whp with a tune.13+ up Si interiors are also far superior.I will take the torque of K24 for a daily/streetcar over a K20.8ths are nice but not the best.EM1 still gets my vote...

Its because, Its called piston stroke loss. Not traffic, but 06+Civic has a sytem for stroke loss traffic. And riding in neutral. and our cars switch between 3 of one cam. so there isn't any throttle loss acceleration loss in traffic by opening and closing the throttle body. It will go from 1.8L to 1.5L and in ivtec 2.0 sports mode. Its the first smart engine . And the torqueness is from the smart manifold. It switches between long tubes and short tubes and give it excellent gas mileage in traffic and highway, and race,. Especially the stick shift. As you can coast in neutral without loss of gas mileage. Its called pumping loss. Mine gets 53.3333 on the highway and 42 city. When its in 1.5L mode. And like 35 anything after 4.5 grand. They valve system kicks in early on ivtec and is stronger Than the vtec system. And the cylinders have oil jets soraying into them and the cylinders walls are honed differently. And the air intake sensor on the air filter is important for the ivtec part. Thats why that sensor is $200 . Over the others.
We as well as car companies need to keep the naturally aspirated car's and turbo and supercharge engineering strong and alive as well 🙏. No one wants electric car's.
I sold my 10gen FC1 for a 48k miles FA5 and for a really good price(taking in consideration the market) can't go wrong with the last true high rev Honda Civic the 10gen is really refine in handling, comfort, and make decent power with only a tune.

Up here everything is more expensive. Sadly it was already had full bolt ons and I'm in the process of figuring out if I want to swap out the headers. I'm keeping the SRI cause I hydro locked the original k20 and blew it. Going to keep it NA on bags for the grocery runs.
I got the k Tuned clutch master and slave kit. (Note, the slave master cylinder failed, got a Hybrid Racing replacement. MUCH BETTER) Hybrid racing short shifter, an average joe K&N hot air filter, ducked into cold air assist, and recently Boomba Racing, mounts. And man these cars start to feel like the should’ve been made in these ways. Cant wait for the Mega Power RR full exhaust and Hybrid CAI with a spacer and tune. Ill be ripping and still getting the kids and groceries.
(2:10) FB6 is not a 10th Gen civic.. That would be the 9th Gen that came with the K24. It comes stock at 205 horsepower, so that dyno definitely is not correct if it had said 198 on a tune😂

I’ve always wanted a 8th Gen Civic Si sedan because of Kraftwerks and their supercharger video. 👌🏾 I couldn’t find any in my area for a good price and mileage and I was in a crunch, so I got a 10th gen Civic instead. FBO Phearable 1.5R later and I’m still happy with it. You should definitely boost yours.
Only thing that’s not the best about the si they cheaped out on the interior with cloth seats (they didn’t really, they just put leather seats in the acura csx being that it’s the more upscale version of a civic) but si seats are wayyyyy more comfortable than tsx leathers that i currently sit in everyday until my boi back on road 😤😤😤

Even though I LOVE the FG chassis. I also LOVE my K20Z1 swapped EP3 with 6 speed tranny Hondata Kpro and a few other goodies.
Had an EP3 before I bought my FA5 four years ago and that thing was honestly a blast to drive

The 8 gen also has a way better looking body style in my opinion than the new civics. I can’t stand how the the rear end looks on the new civics.
