    Theory for the rose story. It said in the begining that they both agreed they weren't ready for kids, and if pregnancy happened, they would terminate it. I think when it happened, she had a change of heart and wanted to keep it and didn't want to risk having OP try to get her to terminate the pregnancy. So she made up a lie that would cause them To break up so she wouldn't have to face that possible scenario. Was it the right thing to do? Probably not. But a young, scared, soon to be mother did what she thought was best for her unborn child.

      That's still cowardly. If he wanted her to terminate, she can tell him that she's not going to and just break up with him then. That at least would have been a clean break.

    So here's a perspective of someone involved in a similar situation. My mother was 18 when she got pregnant with my older half brother. The father was a senior in high school and she had dropped out a year earlier. She didn't want to "ruin" his life with a baby, so she just ghosted him. That is all of the information that she has ever given to anyone about his father. My brother went his entire life not knowing who his biological father was and it was a hole in him that he carried until he died. Rose is the AH, for depriving OP of his daughter and depriving the daughter of her biological father. If OP had been abusive or otherwise a threat, I could understand, but OP seems to be a perfectly upstanding person.

    The second story is sad because the son. He's obviously heart broken and that's why he lashed out at his Mom. Hope the girl's Dad apologized for how he reacted too. The girl is now dealing with the consequences of her actions and no amount of finger pointing will make her less at fault.
    OP did the right thing. Especially with the history of cheating, it was necessary to take the test. If he didn’t do it, it could have literally ruined his life and had him on the hook financially for the next 18 years.

    Rose deprived OP of any opportunity to decide for himself. That wasn't fair to him or his daughter. On the other hand, he might have given up everything to support his daughter and possibly blamed her at some point for not being able to realize his dreams.
    Nevertheless, it should have been his decision. And he should have been aware that it would have been his decision. No matter which one he would have made. Normally, a child is always a blessing and rarely a disappointment, at least when it grows up in a loving environment, as it seems to be here. Rose clearly did it out of love. However, she also took the path of least resistance to avoid any confrontation. So the question is also whether she really only did it out of love for OP or also for herself. In any case, I don't think she had any malicious intent.

  • @DuchessCassanda
    @DuchessCassanda 9 месяцев назад +139

    I call BS! Rose robbed OP of his choice. She couldn't possibly know if he would change his mind and not regret having a child. Instead she made selfish choices that will damage her daughter's relationship with her if she ever found out. What about his legal right to make decisions on how his daughter was raised? Lastly, she says she feels guilty but would she have ever come clean if OP's mom didn't find out at Rose's dad's funeral? I bet the only reason she reached out was to get ahead of any legal action OP might take regarding custody if he so chose.

    Story 1: I think OP has every right to stay angry for a while. He's handling the situation quite well, but Rose deprived him and his daughter of SIX YEARS of bonding. She caused him to miss out on so much of Daisy's growing up: her first steps, her first words, first day of school...they can't recover that. It's good that they're doing therapy though, so that should help work through those emotions. But I won't blame OP for holding onto some anger/resentment for a while. Rose made a decision that was not hers to make.
    Story 2: Am I the only one who was fully expecting Macy to be Austin's half sister? Like OP just didn't recognize him at all and it turns out he was Austin's bio father?

    • @Karamarika
      @Karamarika 9 месяцев назад

      No, it wasn't his choice. Legally, he had an obligation to the child. It doesn't look like the mother was going to pursue that, but in reality, men are not given the choice to bail. I think that as long as we keep abortion as an option, men should be given the option to not support or have contact with the child. It's not right to extend the choice for one party and not the other. Or, better yet, we all agree that the choice was made when you chose to engage in activities that could result in a child and leave it at that.

    • @minxymoo2325
      @minxymoo2325 9 месяцев назад

      @@Karamarika It absolutely is fair.... fetuses are literally parasites. It's a woman's choice if she aborts or not, but it is not a man's choice to support the child he made. If it was men's bodies being leeched on, abortion would be legal with no questions.

    I experienced the first story of the daughter. My mom found out she was pregnant, so she asked what would you say if I got pregnant, and he said immediately abortion. Mom ghosted him till I was because of medical issues I was having. Mom was married and pregnant. At 7, I found out who he was. I asked to meet him, and he told her not to tell me about him and not contact him. At 14, I reached out. Mom was separated, he wanted to talk to my mom; they got back together, I have 2 sisters, 13 and 8 at the time. They are still together today, 33 yrs. His family wasn't told about me till I 17. I got very close to my grandmother and she passed only a couple of years later. So we have a strained relationship still. This is a very simplified version. Lol

    Most of the time child support goes off of what the fathers income is and is roughly between 200 to 500 per child a month if you have a normal job amd if you live on the higher end of the scale it can be a couple grand a month.

    • @alexafuqua8727
      @alexafuqua8727 9 месяцев назад

      There is also back support. So if a parent is pursuing child support from the other parent for insurance purposes or for whatever reason. If there is no proof of any financial involvement in the previous time since the child's birth or proof of reason why there shouldn't be back child support. like texts about cash to buy baby things or receipts for baby items, childcare, utility bills for the child purchase by the other parents.
      They would have to pay all those years of child support. If they do not agree to pay the lump sum of missed child support they can spend up to 6 months of jail time. And will keep going back to jail for each missed payment reported.

      My cousin had to pay her ex boyfriend child support when they broke up. She was poor, had the child majority of the time, was going to school and worked just enough hours to qualify for free daycare, while he was broke and only occasionally worked. She has to give him a couple hundred each month. Ironically, it ended up saving her money because he spent more of "their" money partying than she was required to provide in child support 😂

    Story 2- Sam say that ish SAY THAT ISH lol👏🏾👏🏾. I’m glad at least one adult had their head on straight. That little girl was about to commit paternity fraud with the help of her father and his best friend. Ridiculous Mark was all I thought she was better than that even though she was already caught cheating once. Showing that she in fact was not better than that. The fact that he took her cheating self back was his first mistake I hope he learned from this. The best friend being the father is no surprise to me. I knew it would be someone close to them. In the end I hope that young man don’t develop and disdain for dating (if he did I wouldn’t blame him.) I wish him the best moving forward.

    One thing that wasn't addressed is the fact that when she got pregnant as far as Rose knew was that op had said abortion was the only option if she got pregnant. I have first hand witnessed too many times where men have forced their gf/wives through manipulation and violence into terminating a pregnancy. It happens alot more than people realize. And a common thing that is almost always said is 'he never acted that way before ' too many men think that when a woman gets pregnant it's to baby trap him. While that has happened in the past to people. Men tend to think it's the majority of all pregnancies

    Rose was wrong for not telling OP he was the father, even if she had not wanted t o stay with him (unless he was abusive or something but it doesn't sound that way to me). She has taken away his chance to decide for himself, his chance to get to know the baby and be involved and possibly has left him with the feeling that he can not trust women as she said she had an affair behind his back, which can have influenced his future relationships. If she did not want to stay with him, she could just have told him so. I wonder what she told her parents. Did she lie and say he broke up with her because he did not want a child?

    FYI, As the law is in the USA at the moment, If you assume you are the father (or not) and sign the birth certificate you are responsible for child support regardless of the actual paternity of the child. So...DNA tests when there is any question of paternity is an extremely good idea. The mother was 100% correct on this.

    OP wanted to terminate any pregnancy they had when they talked about children. OP didn't want any children. Rose knowing this wanted to protect her baby and not be pressured into terminating the pregnancy. She waited 4 months to tell him. She had to get her exit plan in place before she told him. It's easy for OP to say years later he would have supported her. I don't think he would have years ago just by their conversations about children. Rose did what she had to do to save her baby. She obviously didn't take him to court. She just raised her child on her own. According to OP the child was in fact raised in a good environment.

    • @magdalenagabrowska8169

      Save her baby? I didn't know that simply telling and him not accepting would hurt baby in any way? Like there is no law to terminator bc partner dosen't want have baby....
      If there is pressure and you don't agree you leave (of course we talk about normal, general situation, not abuse relationship or toxic one).
      She alredy made choice to have baby. Like she could tell and see how situation would play and if he didn't want child she still could go live her live, have her child and start new family, like it become later but with clear situation...
      Especially if she was ready to leave, had place and things prepared after break up, she could simply say that she is pregnet and she wants this child and she saying him only bc he is father but she don't care about what he things bc her mind is made and not to do things bc "you have to take responsibility", give him clear out and say it is fine if he choose it.
      A only 'understand' her decision from place that she thought that they would stay in realationship and she knew he wasen't ready for child and didn't want one at that time and she didn't see how it would work with them and she was scared it would, with time, become realationship that there is there only bc there is child.... Bc I can see him "taking responsibility" if he loved his girlfriend like it was said, with how much trauma it give him, to simply be with her, plus baby after few months...so yeah this is like my only way of thinking to understanding her, she knew he would do what's right and she thought that that was right then wasen't what he really wanted, so that is where her reasoning comes in with "didn't want him to give up on his plans".
      But I think she still could tell him to at least after some time, year or so, not six years and only bc funeral, she said she planed to come clean someday, what if it would be when kid was 16 or 18 or bc girl started asking about her look, etc...
      They talked about children and then she changed her mind but it dosen't mean that there is need to cut him off before even talking. That's what I think hmm ...

    The Rose story: Six years is a long time. Everyone in this situation did what they thought was best *at the time* and now, they have realized that mistakes were made and there are plans for fixing that for the future. So, all that said, here's why OP is totally the asshole: he's playing the victim and wants everyone to recognize his growth, but still wants everyone on his side, STILL BLAMING HER *instead* of recognizing everyone grew and celebrating how now he gets a relationship with his child.

      The only person who had a choice about anything 'at the time' was Rose. OP wasn't given a choice at all. OP is the victim, Rose deserves blame for doing something wrong. Rose doesn't get a pass because she decided she needed to come clean only because OP's mom saw the daughter and obviously knew she'd lied about it.

    I would never trust a mom to be a good mom, if they already decided lying about cheating is somehow a logical decision/reasonable answer. I hope OP watches over his daughter closely because that mom sounds like she would lie to make her daughter act/do the things she wants

    2cd case…if child support is in play, nobody had a choice on the matter anyways cuz the courts are gonna want to know who lol Austin’s parents sure as hell wouldn’t of wanted him to just blindly sign a birth certificate ( thankfully ) and be legally tied to a child that isn’t his

    True she did him dirty by not telling him. But then he also wouldn't be as successful as he is now. Take it from me who has a dad who has 11 kids taking care of a child even when you're paying child support is so expensive.

    She caused unnecessary trauma that he had to pay money to get help to heal from. The fact that it changed his behavior in his relationships for nothing is the lowest a partner can do for another no matter what the reasons were. She does not even acknowledge that he has missed so many firsts and she still controls the dynamics within the relationship between him and his daughter.

    So sad he missed out on his kids life. Ok they agreed on abortion but she took away from the dad and child. That’s not ok. She lied and it hurt a lot of people and should be held responsible

      Either that or its a lie and she was afraid that he would force her into an abortion. The beginning talks about how that was their plan if she did get pregnant.

    You can't act like god towards other's life, regardless of what might happen both of them must have the full context and be able to decide what happens else that lie no matter how you twist your version or intention is just coming from your own selfish reasons no matter how much you make it like its the best for the other person.
    You don't know what's best, stop thinking highly of yourself that you can know bwtter than what both of you can decide..
    There is probably more reason but she can't admit it or else both his current family and OP will have more complicated problems relationally

    Rose was 100% in the wrong. It's his kid he has every right to make up his own mind on what he wants to do with HIS own child...... I hate women who think they deserve to be the only ones to know the truth.... it gives my whole sex a bad wrap... also to the people talking about the abortion talk it's not like op could force her into a clinic, she could have told him and still left while keeping the baby.
