In regards to the last story, the wife of the last husband's kids were denied trust, access to the family, & benefits until she took a paternity test. Without her husband, her life was made harder by her husband's family until she took the test, all behind an untrue accusation. Conversely, the other mother (and children) were trusted and believed with unsubstantiated proof, and gained all benefits that came with that assumption, all without knowing for certain via DNA testing if her children are legitimate, all withouth being accused by OP. As such, by the family's own history, if one set of children must meet the burden of proof to be fully accepted, with no proof of wrongdoing other that a heresay accusation, the accuser should also be forced to submit to that same burden of proof.

Piggybacking off this, I think OP is just doing petty revenge and I am all for it, they were "abusing" her long before she got pregnant, from Lucy, from the kids (Though maybe slightly brainwashed by Lucy), and the MIL, so really, this is just petty revenge, possibly years she had to go through that, to almost end it only to find out she was pregnant so Not the Asshole, if OP adds new requirements then yeah totally the asshole, but just making them do what they basically made her do is fair justice.

Ancestry DNA tests are accurate as far as relationships… Ethnicity part is guesstimates.
The ONLY mix ups I have ever seen if when two people test at the same time and they accidentally register with the wrong tube. ( Like spouses or a kid & parent … etc )
Genetic genealogy is very accurate. There are organizations that will help adoptees or people who find an anomaly that puts their paternity into question.
Everyone has the right to accurate health information!

I think the main thing in the last story is that if they do have another father somewhere both the kids and the father need to know, not just for the idea of knowing but again back to health, thinking a parent is your parent might prevent you from doing things you should be trying. The real father may have health issues that the kids need to either be tested for or take preventatives for

Story 3: I’m very on the fence on mandatory DNA tests. Part of me agrees that DNA tests at birth would stop so many issues with people (specifically) men having to pay child support for children that aren’t theirs because of women that are lying to them has so many positives. But having mandatory government access to DNA is a slippery slope.

    • @maam-yj8ph
      @maam-yj8ph 10 месяцев назад +6

I think the babies (that become adults) deserve to know for health reasons. People who want government benefits and child support should be required to do it in order to navigate the system. I think if they test the mother too it would help with mixed-up baby situations. Plus people need to be better educated when it comes to genetics and this practice would be a practical way of doing that. But for those who want to go rogue, the opt-out option should be available too. They can do the testing later if they change their minds.

Just FYI…Both my elderly mother and father passed away and neither one had a police officer to come out. My father had had a stroke, but was still alive and had a DNR on file…so no IV’s or life-saving anything. So, he basically passed away from dehydration and starvation. My mother was in a memory care facility and when she got pneumonia and a UTI, her DNR said not life-saving anything…which included antibiotics. So she also basically died from dehydration and starvation. You can keep someone alive for a long time with IV food and water. Neither of my parents wanted to suffer to be alive in bed. But police do not come out and check with every death. They were both on hospice.

I take my empty can to the corner trash bin, and I guess I was blinded by the sunlight, it was a pretty hot day, but anyway, I walked straight into the street light and for the rest of the day I had to wear a baseball hat to cover the enormous bump on my forehead. I get that OP said they pushed boundaries in the relationship, but I'm pretty sure they both agree/consent with the boundaries they push. The OP's BF didn't know she was using his semen in the artwork so he didn't consent to it. He has every reason to be angry.

I told my ex-father-in-law his father was someone other than who he thought. I uncovered it accidentally while helping the family with a family tree. I asked my ex if he knew and he asked his siblings. No one knew if my f-i-l knew but was keeping it secret or if he didn't know. I was conflicted, but no one wanted to tell him and I was persuaded not to either. Unfortunately my f-i-l was linked to my ancestry account and he called me out of the blue saying "so what's going on with these messages I'm getting from Ancestry?" I panicked and spilled the tea. It turns out the Ancestry messages had nothing to do with the revelation. (oops) Also turned out he didn't know about his mystery father and was sorry he found out. (He was in his 70s and quite a bit younger than his other siblings. His parents had passed away long before. He had an older sibling who was still alive who confirmed that everyone had known but him. Kind of a shitty surprise for him.)

About intervention within family members, my family kinda did with one of my cousins. Since we were kids, one of our cousins was very different and weird. My brother and I, AS KIDS, knew something was wrong and my mom also noticed. My mom and I mentioned to my uncle and aunt that there was something different about our cousin but they never accepted it. Nowadays, it's even clearer. My cousin is like 22 and still behaves and talks like an 8 year old kid. We think there's a developmental issue that could have been helped if there had been an intervention earlier but I think it is late now. However, not even now that my cousin can't keep a job and had a lot of problem socializing and finishing high school, they acknowledge there's an elephant in the room

Autopsy/death investigations are conducted dependent on age/location & whether or not there was an obvious natural cause of death (illness). Some places conduct them automatically to anyone under 85, or older if there is just cause. Most places forego this process when there is an obvious natural cause, such as cancer, unless they have probable cause to conduct them.

Currently there are a ton of cases that were considered suicide that make absolutely no sense at all. Rebecca Zahau and Ellen Greenberg are 2 very big cases that I believe are cases of murder that got called suicide because of shitty/no investigation. There are atleast 5 others that I can think of that I don’t personally believe were suicides but I can’t think of the person names and there is a chance that maybe they could have been but I don’t believe they are. In my opinion it’s absolutely impossible for Ellen and Rebecca’s deaths to of been self inflicted. Their deaths make no sense

The OP in the first story needs to alert police. Their mom is literally dangerous and should actually be in actual prison. OP 2 not the AH, I'm glad she blew meemaw's spot up. I hate paternity fraud, it should be a crime. OP 3 is the AH and that's a betrayal and just gross. OP 4 I wouldn't say is an AH, but selfish. Full or half he's still his brother that will never change. OP 5 not the AH and the specific kind of petty I enjoy. If DNA tests are no big deal then they shouldn't mind taking them too.

Story #5 NTAH. It will not harm the kids to have their cheek swabbed. And it may teach Lucy to shut her mouth. Also, why would Lucy refuse the DNA test at all if she’s sure that her ex is the father? OP may my be petty, but I’m here for it!😂

Last story #5, not the AH. I think OP has suffered being called the other woman since the start of her relationship with the dead husband. However she didnt meet him untill after the divorce. Its proven.
However the ex wife continued to tell everyone, the in-laws plus the children that op is the reason for the divorce and why you cant be with dad.
The kids then hate on op as a result.
Then the husband dies and even the in laws re horrible plus demanding a dna test,.. probably if its proved the kid wasnt the dead husbands then the in-laws would probably contest the will. See where we are going?
So the ex plus the in-laws were preparing to cut op’s and her sons shares of the will out. They were preparing and the boy being the true son put a giant stop to that. So now the in-laws are retroactively being oh wait our grand baby and it’s a BOY.
So now they want to be in the boys life. Op is like f and u, and came up with the fair treatment hurdles to put them off. So they came up with the money apparently, most likely it can be reversed somehow however they did that and thought ok we did the thing. But no OP is demanding every drop of consequences. She demands dna tests on the girls. Sh may suspect the one girl at least isnt the husbands but even if they both are his changes nothing. The in laws treated her and her son like garbage, put massive emotional garbage on op and her husbands entire relationship, unjust accusations so op is setting the boundaries and putting up the toll booth. You gotta pay your fees to pass the border. So the in-laws have to get the dna tests done. Now we is the ex being picky refusing? She’s already divorced. What harm comes to her if it turns out they are not the ex husbands? Oooh yes the trust funds. She could just let the test be done so the in-laws can see the boy, and so her girls can know their brother but i bet theres an issue there. Th ex husband wasnt the only one having affairs. She was the golden girl hand picked by the in laws to be the daughter in law. If the girls dna comes away other than the deceased husband all that gold gets dissolved right there and no more inheritances or trust funds.
I get the impression the in-laws are the type to turn their back on a dime to anyone not of their lineage and play massive favourites. The ex wife can deny dna tests all she wants but I bet the in laws demand dna at time of college to get money out or at time of their death to be able to collect. So the ex wife isnt saving face.
Pay the toll. You played the witch card, but op owns the house.

Last story: There's a LOT of times (don't know exact % but I estimate 75% based on all the stories I've heard in my 50+ years of life) that when someone irrationally starts accusing someone of an affair &/or passing off another guy's baby as their SO's baby, then the one suddenly accusing is projecting their own sins & just mad that someone else might get away with it too. So OP certainly has reason to believe Lucy (1st wife) is doing that. NTA for turning it on her & demanding equal treatment from the grandparents. After all OP said her husband only married Lucy because she was pregnant. If he was lackluster about their relationship, only dating her because the parents pushed her on him, then he certainly wouldn't have been careless about protection. That really lowers the chances that Lucy's 1st pregnancy was his kid, even if she wasn't on bc. Yes condoms break, but still there's a decently high rate of prevention using only condoms. Lucy could've seen he didn't love her & wanted to break up so she went searching for a few "no questions, no names" 1-night stands & purposely got pregnant in order to baby-trap OP's husband.
There are guys out there that have a weird mindset that they won't use condoms at all, deeming it "unmanly", & others will take the chance to not use one with very little convincing because they don't like them. My uncle actually worked with a guy that couldn't have kids, but he & his wife wanted them. So THREE TIMES she went out to bars & picked up guys, swearing she was on the pill (even had the partly used pack in her purse) & said she didn't like guys that wore condoms. Then they'd have sex a couple times & while the guys were in the shower after she'd write down all the identifying info on them she could (phones with cameras weren't quite common yet so no quick snap of their id). Boom 6 weeks later she's contacting them to let them know "her bc failed & when the baby comes they needed a dna test". Then she'd send a few messages about how her husband might divorce her because her pregnancy doesn't line up with when he was home, he had been out of town that week visiting family. Then she'd message that hubby forgave her "1 time mistake" & is accepting being step-dad, but really they can pay the bills but neither of them made that much, so they were still gonna sue this sucker for child support & put half that monthly money in a savings for that kid that would only be for that kid's medical emergencies & college. Yes, they successfully pulled this scam 3 times! The husband bragged to his coworkers how he & his wife pull in all this good money & save only for their retirement cause half of each kid's child support goes in a fund for 2 family vacations a year & the other half to their college funds & they would each have a good amount of college money by the time they reach 18. Why? Because these guys weren't paying something small like $100-200 per month in support. They were each paying over $500. When the wife was picking up these men she made sure to only pick up guys with good secure jobs. One was a lawyer, one was a military guy that was not just doing a minimal sign up but a career soldier that was already working his way up in rank. I forget the 3rd exactly but it was something secure like computer programmer or such where even if his current company had layoffs he'd likely get another job pretty quickly. When my uncle was telling me this coworker's story, he said that this couple when they started this scam already made enough to support themselves & 3 kids, & after kid #3 coworker had gotten a good raise. They didn't need a penny from any of the bio dads, but felt like if the guys were dumb enough to not use condoms that was their problem & so they deserved to have to pay child support. I felt like this couple was so conniving because yeah the guys were dumb to sleep with a woman (married or not) without protection, but also the wife did intentionally lie about bc because she intended to get pregnant.

story #1 If OP's "dad" was emancipated, he was a legal adult. So being there and on the birth certificate wouldn't be illegal. Also, in some states, the legal age of consent is 17. I'm not saying it's not wrong, nor am I saying it's not gross, it's just not illegal.
Story #5 I wouldn't be surprised if the first kid WASN'T his so I'm in the NTA corner.

In France, paternity test aren't illegal, whoever told you that is wrong. It just can't be used in a court of law because it's not recognized as a proof. That will probably change someday, but not yet.
Also I know that Emily in Paris likes to make it look like France's national sport is infidelity, but it's actually not higher that other europe countries, it's actually lower than UK, for example. And probably lower than USA, but I can't be sure of the numbers I get for you from here.
OP NTA on this story.Lucy & daughters definitely are, though. The girls don't sound that young, they sound like they have their opinion on op too, so yeah... A*holes. And grand parents are borderline a*holes too.

This might already be said later, not sure paused in the middle, but for the painting one, it is a weird idea and one that crosses that ethical line, BUT...no one thought the painting was inappropriate or obscene BEFORE they found out it was made...only after...showing that they actually dont really have a problem with the painting. For real, i mean as an artist myself, youd have to torture me hard core to get me to confess that kind of info lol. This lady has some screws loose, sure. But had she not told everyone, there would be no problem. And thats not saying she shouldnt have asked her husbands permission before using his...fluids lol. Thats saying she didnt even need to tell everyone else lol.

Last story of course not the a-hole, it would be different if situation was weird like she wouldn't be his wife etc, and sudenly come from nowere, but she was normal girlfriebd that he meet after divorse, ex wife made her in to this "bad character" and people didn't even show for theirs wedding bc ex talked shit about her to in laws and their own kids... And OP knows that situation with ex was not clear too, like she sudenly were pregned when they broke up, and if course it could be true, sure, but why now she is scared and dosen't want to do test... Like if tye relations were ok between family then maybe itvwoukd be different but hiw she was treated and ex come to funeral and started to talk shit like that, I would also made people jump all the hoops... And it us fair nobody never asked ex about test etc everyone trusted her and they were broken up, and OP was a wife and nobody trusted her. No way she is a ass here. They don't need to a test, and stay away there is also this option. So yeah... And the daughter is old enought that she knows what it could mean for her, he may lose grandparents and their money support too of course so she also didn't want to do it... Especially if the mother is like that, the fact that the daughter didn't give a chance to father new wife bc her mother talked shit it shows how she was bring up....

With DNA testing, it’s not as accurate as they say. There was an investigation done on a lot of the different DNA kits. Identical twins did the test and none of them said that they were related. They also said that the twins were from different parts of the work and so on. They did these various DNA kits multiple times with many different answers, but the twins were never said to be related. 🤷‍♀️

OP is a complete garbage person,
at the end she tried to justify it instead of owning up to it and she sounds completely like one of these people who does wild

There was no reason to keep it from her partner, everytime people do stuff like this I never buy the "I want to surprise them" crap.
