Often times passion isn’t enough to pursue that career or goal. Just like loving your partner isn’t enough to keep the relationship from falling apart.
I've worked many jobs 40+ in the last 8 years, the longest being 6 months and enjoyed maybe 3 of them. I may have been a job hopper but I have found what truly makes me happy and that's animals and law enforcement so I combined the two and now I'm becoming a fish and game warden. For anybody that doesn't know what they truly want out of life, taste and try different things career-wise and hobbywise and eventually you will fall into the right area and the universe will open up for you. 🙂
I’ve had 10-12 diff jobs in my life all part time through HS and college. Got made fun of for it but it helps you find out what you don’t wanna do it and narrow that choice
I’m the same way I have had multiple jobs throughout the years , how exactly do you go into fish and game? . I was an Animal Control Officer for 3 years lost my passion and jumped into public works that I absolutely hate . Many people call me crazy because I’m not content with what I have .
How do you tackle the anxiety that you get thinking about your peers of the same age with 10 years of experience while you are just starting as a fresher in the new chosen career? I just become sad very often thinking i wish I chosen that very career 10 years ago.
money has the potential to solve all your problems. Even ones that cant be bought with money, such as skills that can be taught to you by other who have mastered it.
5:25 this absolutely true, as long as you have the money to spend on enjoyable experiences that make life interesting you should be happy. If not then it’s an ego problem
Ppl don't care about how much they make, they care about how much they make in comparison to everyone else... We're all living way better than Kings used to live, so comfortability is not really a factor, it's all just a social/esteem game
The problem with this statement is its far more expensive to live the same as Kings than to live better than Kings these days. What I mean by this is I can buy thousands of hot meals ready to eat for the same amount that I can by the land needed to live the way King's used to in regards to crops and livestock for food etc. Not to mention I then have to buy the livestock and crops then wait for them to grow etc. Your statement is extremly under thought and invalid
Lol OK. People do care about how much they make because if you don't make enough you can be carless, homeless and starving. People aren't turning down $7 an hour jobs for $15 an hour jobs because they want to be socially higher than someone else. It's because they can buy more groceries and pay the bills and get gasoline lmfao
you need money. that is a fact. but i think if you live your life in the pursuit of money, rather than fulfillment or self-satisfaction, it won't necessarily leave you the happiest you could potentially be
Unfortunately our society revolves around money. My wife and I make enough money to be content right now, but we are still pursuing our dreams, even though those dreams do not include a lot of money. As long as you have enough money to take care of you and your family, you should do something that you enjoy. That is the career path that I am going for; happiness over money.
Life is such a mind game.....the ultimate mind game, actually. Most of us have multiple programs running in the background, each one written due to various experiences we had growing up. The more there are, the further we are from reality. I'm thinking money is woven into these layers somehow; a seductive mirage that can make us chase things we believe might get us closer to it. Similar to a desert oasis, once you get close, it disappears.
People need to learn to be content with having their basic needs taken care of, instead of always aspiring to have more. Striving for a baller life style typically leads to unhappiness, because you're never content. Its never enough.
But at the same time you could say being content with just having the basics can lead to laziness. People will always want to grow and evolve and seek better for themselves.
SO digginit Not to mention that the daily things that make a life easier and in some cases possible at all are because people w r further than they needed.
I agree, but also agree with ambition/aspiration. Complacency can be a killer and having that right amount of motivation can balance out your life pretty well.
THIS!!! money can’t bring you everlasting joy or peace, why you think rich people lose their minds! People need to wake up and pursue Christ, you can’t have two masters.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man: No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression.
We all going to leave this earth someday, and the money won’t come with us either. I choose my passion over the money, why because God will provide for me.
The half of a book I've read is better than the half I didn't read... Unless the unread half of the book I didn't read was twice as good as the half of it I read...
I honestly read half the book because it was not what I thought it was. The first half is great. It explains the difference in mindset between the rich and the poor. The other half is about how to use massive debt to get rich. Which is ironic in a way. I've learned and benefited more from Dave Ramsey's books, about saving and staying away from debt the best I can. I can't blame her for stopping halfway into Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
I would say try to balance everything in life,it is hard but focus on that.Balance money and happines and dont ask for too much in life.Travel,Work,Rest, spend time with family and friends, have some plans for future and talk through that with your friends or family. It might not be easy for everyone but nothing in life is easy.Everyone has their moments where they feel they are most happiest person on planet and then you have moments where you dont want to exist.Balance life,I did and you can too.
There's this problem I have with jobs that Ive never heard other people have. People, I included spend 1/3 of their life working for a guy you're scared of for a piece of paper that says you can have some currency. And only being able to live another 1/3 of your life to yourself. 1/3 or more at a job, 1/3 sleeping, 1/3 being YOU. And if you chose to not follow these norms you're seen as lazy and unemployed seems looked down upon despite it being totally possible (extremely hard for most cases) to make money while unemployed doing shit you like doing
This is how I feel right now. I quit a job that I didn't like, wasn't learn anything, but it's what paid me. I'm now using that free-time to build up on some skills to build my portfolio & hopefully build a small business/freelance. Despite using my time productively, I still feel like if my family were to find out they'd think I'm a lazy POS for quitting my unfulfilling job. It's this weird combination of happy that I'm using this newfound time to build myself in a way I want but also feeling guilty/ashamed that I'm not "working".
