Nice vid. Working on my '97 Eclipse GSX project car on film and was checking out bushing mods. Still have your Talon?

Yes I do, I might start making videos again actually.

That would be awesome! I just started putting up the vids on mine. Transmissions should be coming out later today. :)
I think someone already did the skate bearings mod on my shifter cables, but now they are rusted solid. XD

Your car must need some work and maintenance now that it's 6 years later!

6 years and way too many miles. I put about 70,000 miles on it.

I have a Misubishi Evo 4 and i was wondering if you have actually replaced the shifter linkage cables. Their is this gromlit on the firewall that the cables go through to the shifter and i dont know how to remove it without ripping it

That's for the manual gear shifter right? .. changing those bushings eliminates the free play right? Cause my 99 gst has a lot of play

It's so hard to get the rings to "simply slip on" still can't seem to do it. Any tips?

Snap ring pliers are the proper tool. Otherwise you could use a screwdriver wedged in the slit or two picks to pull the ring apart.

Can someone comment if its necessary to lubricate these Types of Bronze shifter bushings ? and why or why not ?

Always a good idea to lubricate if it's metal to metal contact and it should move. While the brass won't corrode badly, the steel will still rust. Lubricant will prevent the steel from rusting and ensure smooth movement of the brass across the steel. I recommend some bearing grease or silicone based lubricant. The thicker the better. Anti seize could also work.

Is this bushing makes any difference?

Alberto Acosta Yes, they make shifter feel more solid. Especially if you also do the shifter bushings inside the car under the gear shift.
