  • In this video I test out the new DJI Pocket 3 in the rain and compare its footage to the iPhone 14 Pro. In all, I filmed with the DJI Pocket 3 for around 30 minutes in the rain, wiping the camera down once in-between.
    Did the bigger 1" sensor in the DJI Pocket 3 out perform the smaller 1/1.28" sensor in the iPhone? Let me know what you guys think.

    Very interesting video, thanks. The clear winner ist the DJI, as to be expected cause the iPhone does not good in bad lighting conditions. And although ist was pretty good lightning, as u mentioned, still this is too bad for the iPhone. And much more contrast on the pocket3. I am always fascinated how good this tiny little camera works at night.

    I hears pocket 3 can't handle splash of water. water will make it off forever. did u use it just open or with umbrella/cover?

    • @Remy_Zee

      Hey thanks for the comment! So all the footage in this video was filmed in the open rain with no umbrella. I was out in the rain for about 20 minutes filming with no issues but I can't say what would happen if it were sprayed with water. Hope this helps

    Hi Remy! Thanks for sharing videos like this. Usually, all videos are just a story of what is written in the specification.
    Have you tried what the characteristics are like at low temperatures (No one has shown it on RUclips yet)? According to the specification, it says that the operating temperature is at 0 degrees C. I think it should work properly at -10 or maybe at -20C. What do you think about that?
    I'm a mountaineer and I'm thinking about buying this camera for winter high altitudes.
    Thanks!

    • @Remy_Zee
      @Remy_Zee  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Branislav! thanks for watching man. I have not tried filming in low temperatures yet.
      The DJI pocket 3 actually heats up quite a bit while filming. After 15 minutes of continuous filming in the rain, the camera was hot to the touch. I assume it's going to be fine in colder climates but the battery probably won't last as long in the cold too. My 2 cents!

    The card slot is completely open to water. Far too risky to allow the Pocket 3 to get wet, IMO.

    Thank you for daring to do this test! It's good to know that there's apparently no need to worry about a few raindrops on the Pocket 3. However, I would also like to know whether you were out with or without an umbrella?

    • @Remy_Zee
      @Remy_Zee  6 месяцев назад +2

      @@Razorcrew_Cole yeah thats a good observation. For whatever reason I noticed that the DJI lens seemed to repel water better than the iPhone. If you watch 0:45 the iPhone footage had a lot of rain droplets whereas the DJI had none. I suspect theres some water repellent coating on the lens. Thanks for watching!

    To be honest, comments about the colors are irrelevant as the footage should be color graded anyway. The detail and low light capabilities are more important. I'm sure at some point, someone will make a waterproof enclosure for the P3, but for now, one of those little mobile phone umbrellas that scooter drivers use would probably work.

    It's all nice and dandy until water eventually gets inside the lens enclosure and condenses behind the front glass and on the lens, leaving stains. That's how I managed to ruin a Pocket 2 in the rain…

    Besides personal preferences like the color temperature, the Pocket 3 is SOOO much better in all regards... the iPhone footage is garbage at night, staying with the lens flare, lack of detail, no smoothness, digital stabilization bugs on the lights (they seem to jump)... nothing that on the pocket 3. If on your daylight the iPhone may be a good, when the light is less favorable, no other phone or action can can compete with the pocket 3. Too has the pocket 3 is not water and dust proof... (but I'll order one anyway)

    You was under umbrella right? You hair should be completely wet under that rain. Same for the camera you are saying it's so wet but it's only couple of rare drops on it. Or the rain looks much more intense than it is really.
