Question: what if my 64 nickel has die doublinng on the obverse in the letter E in the word We and the last S in the word Trust. Also noticed the 9 in the date shows doubling. No mint mark on either side. Is this worth saving?

Thank you very I Subed to your site . I have a ton of old coins that I have to go through . I found a big Stash of pocket change that my dad had hid out in the chicken coop in our farm . The newest coins in the six vitamin bottles was like 1984 . There was about a 150 dollars worth . half's , quarters , nickels , dimes ,and Penny's. . The old barn got blown down in a storm .I'm sure he had a bunch in there too. The guy was a pack rat and would hide stuff and not tell any one . So every day is a treasure hunt. And the story that I heard when I was a kid was that his Aunt and Uncle had Mason Jars of money buried on the farm that they didn't put in the banks during the depression in the 30's !! Because the made it through it in very good shape and had made it and didn't loose everything like so many others. Thanks much. Roger the Farmer from northwestern Wisconsin . PS. You always here about stories like that , but I know they do happen . A guy that lived about a half mile from me was cleaning up some old sheds and corn cribs on his place that was his folks place . And found a old milk can under a old small chicken coop that had fell down , The can had almost 850,000.00 dollars in it and by the time they went through the gold and silver coins it was about a Million dollars !!! His dad had died in the early 70's and had inherited a lot of it from family that had no kids and he had it stashed away and never told his wife about it or anyone. He had a blood clot in his foot let go and died in his barnyard chasing cows in his barn. I think it was 1974 that he died. The money wasn't found till 2008 . Unreal. So I had a question seeing as how I am new to con collecting. I came across to 1964 Jefferson nickels, and one has a really small D mint near and the other Day mint Mark is noticably larger, the styles on the front seem to be slightly different too. Was wondering if anyone knew any information on this? Thanks

Found my first war nickel (actually 2nd- I had one in hand a long time ago but didn't know what it was). It's an "S" 1943 and filthy.
I've found 3 so far, an S and two P's. I hope to find more.

I have 4- 1964 nickels in Front of me. 3 are D mint mark and one has no mint mark. one of them has the stairs and windows. I wish I could send a picture.
Correction: all 4 have steps2 have defined windows the others less defined.
The rpm is a repunch mint mark and fs stands for full steps the all five steps has to be defined

They were minted in the same mass as the silver coins of 1964 which makes it just a common at face value unless BU+!

FS designation actually means "First Strike", but does imply "full steps".

Check that 1941 quarter yo. There are like IDK maybe 50 different doubled die varieties just for the 1941-D. It's almost harder to find one that's not doubled. I haven't found one yet.

There's another error on the nickel and it has to do with the Latin phrase instead of a b they put a d I was born that year and I collect all things 1964if you come across this error and want to sell it I'd be interested in buying it there's roughly a hundred and fifty thousand of these error coins if they all made it out of the mint

No. I have found more 1964 nickels than any other single year. They are quite common. If you find any older nickel with full steps, it is worth more than a few dollars. A PF65 nickel is worth about $3, according to the 2022 red book. Full steps, like any other older coin in close to perfect condition, is worth more. But like any other item, it's only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. If someone needs a certain coin, to finish their collection, they will pay more than someone else would.
