I've only recently started to try to do something like this. Basically, slow the train down and tackle things one at a time.

This issue happens outside of apologetics, in everyday conversations. It’s easy for a slow talker like me to get walked over by well-meaning people. When I try this, I can never get the tone right. No matter what I do, I end up in a passive-aggressive retreat or outburst, and then not only am I hurt, everybody is hurt.
