It was Sam, but yes. John says that Samuel Colt "made the gun for a hunter" but we know this is untrue. He made the gun for himself, because he was being hunted by Demons for making the giant railroad devil's trap, and for making the devil's gate (Which can only be opened with the colt). He gave the gun to Sam, when Sam and Dean needed it to kill a Phoenix, and that's what started the legend that he made the gun for a hunter.

Its probably because Angelblades don't melt down without spells only the King of Hell would dabble in. Ontop of that Sam and Dean wouldn't waste something so valuable as an angelblade. Not only are they hard to get, they're good for killing demons and angels, and they can be reused, like the demon knife. No way would they melt down angelblades into bullets an angel could just dodge or slow time to avoid.

Crowley's magical prowess is very understated. He can survive Rowena's magic, he can replicate it, but also manage to do a dozen of unique things "we never see again". He manages to trap Lucifer in Apocalypse World and a dozen other things.
His humility of, "I melted it down and made bullets" is far, far more complicated. Crowley knows how to make ammo for the Colt, which already is important. Now it's established that he's in touch with a coven of witch's for resurrection magic (part of demon deals) and established that system, putting him pretty on par with Rowena in terms of power though his is often administrative.
Bobby in apocalypse world has angel killing bullets, but that's likely because demons, witches and all manner of beasties are all on the same de facto side. There's angels, then anything else - this could yield a lot of possible roads to these same discoveries, especially since Bobby is both as administrative and knowledgeable as Crowley. They're practically foils.
We see the quantum gun Chuck has be melted down, but it's clearly more complicated than that. That gun is an unearthly tangle of god-magic, it's something only Chuck could make.
The Colt is likely very similar.
The pentagram, the inscription - these might have NO bearing on the gun's significance. Just addons to make them easier to distinguish from a bag of other guns.
The angel-killing bullets are also inefficient. Castiel gets hurt by a bullet, but it doesn't kill him - it slows him down, but doesn't kill him. This causes a big issue, since winged angels can teleport and if you don't capitalize on your attack, they teleport, you die. You need angel hubris to kill them. Even Balthazar opted for surprise attacks with the blades, as guns are too threatening for angels to ignore once "they know". This made them more suitable in apocalypse world, whereas in the main world getting angels to strat throwing hands was smarter. Angels are pretty uniform, so relying on that hubris was smarter than trying to just make bullets. The bullets are also expended when you shoot with them, unless you dissect an angel - who often explode when they die.
Meanwhile, if you make angel-killing bullets, the odds Castiel is gonna get shot with them are high. Knives are personal.
For Demons, hex-bullets with glyphs on them work just as well. Princes of hell can't be stopped by them, but also, there's nothing to say that angel-bullets would be anymore effective. We see them tank angel blades entirely, which means bullets might be less-than-useful. You also can't "test" that, since no demon is gonna let you shoot them, and if you try it on a major bad guy you die learning this data. They might have some angel-killing bullets around, but just don't want to use them since they're unreliable when the knife is absolutely tested. You can't mess around with an angel, they will detonate you if you aren't careful.
So... maybe there's some at the bottom of the boys bag, but they just never find an occasion to risk it. Especially when hiding a gun is harder than hiding angel blades, which are designed to be simple to conceal - it's almost their priority. You also can do a lot of duelling tricks with those blades, whereas guns you telegraph your intentions far too easily... and then there's the gun itself.
Crowley used a luger from WW2, which is an "odd" choice.
Bobby uses an automatic pistol, which is another odd choice.
... the gun might be the hard part, not the bullet.
If you fire an angel-blade bulelt out of a glock, the glock might blow up in your hand. There's striations in modern firearms. You might need a flintlock ball style bullet or else you're getting blowback...
Or you might need a cursed weapon that's indestructible. That makes the most sense, and why a Luger would be used. A hitler-era weapon is great on the kabal side of things, but also, probably cursed by the heinous acts.
The Colt might be cursed, making it invincible, making it easier to fire. It would be in line for Bobby to use a cursed weapon as well.
... and now you're getting into evil magic.
Dean would be absolute about this, no evil magic unless you need it. Even Sam likely sat down and was like, "This is getting dark". And when you're hanging with Cas, I'm sure he's frowning a bit too.
Weaponry obsession isn't a healthy thing, better to sit down and find more useful, helpful lore than spend months trying to make another killing weapon.

Did some brief sleuthing, the Alamo occurred February 23 - March 6, 1836, Not sure which night "those men" died, but as it was a battle, and you don't call it a battle once your enemy is dead or given up it is fair to assume large casualties would occur near the end.
Halley's comet appeared in that year but seems to have appeared in June, according to an archived Australian news paper I found on line.
A point on the metallurgy of early Colts, Most of the early ones had Iron cylinders. And some of the high end one had silver steel frames and barrels for corrosion resistance. Silver steel contains silver, touted often in the show for it's anti-evil properties, where as cold iron was less often mentioned, it has a long history with the fey, and the show uses it occasionally against ghosts.
Also, The Colt Paterson was first made in 1831, and patented in 1836, the year "The Colt" was made. So Samuel had five years of successful gun manufacture under his belt. As these first guns were .36 caliber, percussion cap, black powder weapons, and "The Colt" is a cartridge revolver Samuel might have modified this weapon latter in life. (No, Samuel colt did not invent the self contained cartridge.)
I hope this weaponized autism has helped someone.

There is a phenomenon I use in my D*D games called "Magnum Opus" that refers to instances where completely normal craftsmen manage to create a singular magical item in their careers (maybe two for truly legendary craftsfolk), that takes part of their own soul and taps into the cosmic background magic. These weapons or items usually play massively important roles and have powers and traits that are unique or exceedingly rare. Honestly the way I interpret the Colt is this:
Colt was a man like John Winchester, driven, a little mad, and unwavering in his purpose. Whatever the cause of his knowledge of the supernatural world, he became aware of it, and sought to craft a weapon that would give future hunters a fighting chance. I think it more likely that the comet and the alamo and probly a handful of other one of events happening in the world may have contributed to this once in a lifetime event, and that he would go on to continue to learn new things about the supernatural, and eventually used his powerful colt as a key for the second (as I said, rare but possible) great Magnum Opus, the Giant Devils Trap and Lock.
Not as intricate as yours I admit, but sometimes simple can be elegant. In my mind, Colt and John Winchester are very similar, its not hard to imagine Colt also going through something traumatic and dedicating his life and fortune to hunting. Cheers.

Usually I do something "accidental" like this for a wonder weapon or just a gimmick weapon, but I have a bunch that started as intentionally magical weapons but WAAAAAAAY exceed the bar the craftsman set
One of the accidentals is a small wooden ring, known as 'Magic Isn't Real, Idiot." The guy that made it wanted to make just a basic ring, warded against just general evil, as like a placebo, and either through the cut of wood used or the carvings or the oil in the finish- The wearer is now completely immune to *all* magic.
This one's a little long but I have to ADHD out the autism superobsession right now or I die
I also have a couple where the master craftsman has a general idea but dropped the project for one reason or another, and then the cast are able to find it and finish the job. You can stop reading now if you want, everything before this was the important part.
An example of the latter is my campaign's Colt stand-in, Divine Intervention. The creator wanted a weapon as a last-resort that could potentially wipe whatever you point it at from existence... But couldn't quite figure out how to get the payload from point a (the cylinder of the gun) to point b (target living being that you want to do less of that). There was a huge lapse in the crisis, and it got shelved while the more mundane, "mortal" wars raged on. Couple millennia fly by, and this other guy finds the schematics on a dungeon dive. Brings them back up, talks to his buddies, and they use the papers to make the "first" conventional firearm on the scene- the M1 SRH, that one's story doesn't really matter. You're here for the cool one. Eventually, the cast are encouraged to look into the story surrounding the schematics of the M1, and can optionally go back down to that ancient lab to find what our man missed- The prototype Divine Intervention. Embarrassingly, in a glass case beneath a sheet not three feet from where he found the schematics.
Then it's up to the players how they get that thing to a workable state. But they are "limited" to the 13 shots- That one I leave up to them, I have a recipe they just kinda have to get in the ballpark of, but there's nothing written down on it. Just to get the intended message of "Make every shot count" across. Unintentionally might (will) cause hoarding.

My theory is that Chuck, gave Samuel Colt a vision, and the Comet and stuff was a sign of him manifesting his power on Earth.

When Rowina says something about "when you find a loophole you can only use it once - god closes it", I felt like that was a good explanation for the Colt. Someone figured out a sweet loophole to get a supergun and God closed the loophole after. This would potentially mean that whoever created the spell had the Book of the Damned, I think.
As for Lucifer and others knowing about it, I think Lucifer would have learned about it after coming back to Earth - it feels like the subject of "there's a gun that kills everything" would have come up. Who he learned it from could be just about anyone, Lucifer is presumably well connected. Maybe Lucifer was able to piece together things like "It was done under halley's comet", which perhaps Lucifer knows is connected to Chuck in some way, and therefore understand its limitations. The

      @wellwellwelp 7 месяцев назад +12

Rowina says “when death notices are loophole”, it’s from the episode where they bring back the deaf hunter woman.
It does create an interesting idea that maybe the creation of the gun is tied to a loophole. However instead of using the loophole for resurrection, it’s used to kill.
Could be cool if the way it works is by turning the victim human/part human for a split second or maybe just at the area of impact. Then the only beings capable of surviving a shot are entities that have lost all connection to humanity.
Those entities would be arch angels, primordials such as the leviathans / the 4 horsemen, Kain (+ his original demon crew, which is likely due to their connection to the mark of Cain).
It’s possible that the creators of the Colt, don’t understand that that’s why it works, so they could never recreate it.
It’s also possible that Death doesn’t consider it a loophole since the colt simply enhances the influence of the victim’s humanity. It would be interesting to look into what happens to the souls of those the Colt has killed.
The colt probably doesn’t heal demons back to humans, but maybe it could let a human turn Monster enter an afterlife, that isn’t purgatory. This could be the case, after all vampirism can be reversed if no blood has been drunk.

Fun little thing I need to mention.
Firing revolvers in general, and the Colt Patterson (the model of the Colt in universe) is very much a ritual.
First, you load it (a ritual by itself), then you need to aim it, then you need to thumb the hammer down to flip the trigger down, advance the cylinder, and set the trigger, then you need to put your finger on the trigger, then you need to squeeze through the trigger break, then you need to reset the trigger. Most bullets are softer metal then the gun, so I don't buy the scraping the barrel thing all that much. Really small amounts of transfer from the barrel to the bullet.
All this to say that it's a ritual that feeds another ritual.
    Magically, this is significant.

If the Colt was somehow lost, okay. But after we learn that Crowley knew all along where the Colt was, I really wondered why he didn't tell Sam and Dean. He wanted all of these creatures - Eve, Leviathans and Abaddon - definitely dead at some point.

On the point regarding comets/meteors/celestial events, Supernatural, like many of the CW shows, had some influences from modern neopaganism and witchcraft. In both sides, celestial events, including Halley's Comet, are revered for the energy that they pass down and are called on in rites and rituals devoted to certain deities. Throughout Supernatural they make celestial events to be pretty important overall, especially in reference to lunar cycles and eclipses, just as in witchcraft, which sees different periods of the cycle as important for specific spells- ie New Moons being a perfect time for bringing in new energy into one's life, or beginning new tasks, or initiating a new member into a circle. In the show, the boys needed an Eclipse to open a gateway to Purgatory in order to purge Castiel of all the souls he had gorged himself on earlier in the season, just as one example. So it could be that the Comet somehow passed down a spark of divine energy, such as a spark of an Archangel's grace (considering that's about how far up it scales) during the creation of the Colt, imbuing it with the power to kill most things up to and including gods, angels, demons, Princes and Knights of Hell, alphas, and monsters created by Lilith. As to why it doesn't work on others, that could be directly due to them existing before humanity. None of Princes or Knights existed before humanity, so while they are strong enough to hold their own against Seraphim, they can't handle Archangels. Same goes for the gods- they came into existence with humanity, the oldest being the gods of the nature and cosmology. Some of the beings on the show are too ancient to be affected by the Colt, or given too much power to be.

I always assumed the 5 creatures that the Colt couldn't kill were the 4 Archangels and Death.
The show writers hadn't invented things like Eve, Cain and Amara yet as the show was written to end with season 5. As far as we knew the strongest beings at the time were the 4 Archangels, Death, God and Jesse Turner (The Antichrist). The Archangels believe God to have left existence, which is why they triggered the apocalypse in the first place, and Lucifer says; "There's only 5 things IN all of creation that that gun can't kill".
This is after Jesse in introduced, but before Luci 'kills' Gabriel, so they both definitely exist at the time. I think that Lucifer most likely doesn't know about Jesse. Or perhaps he isn't strong enough to survive the Colt yet. Castiel does say that Jesse's power is still growing.

I am all the way here for this kind of nerdy discussion. It reminds me of when I came up with a plausible history for the "Kurdish Demon-Killing Blades" for the purposes of a Supernatural RP that I'm a part of.
As for my list about the five things the Colt can't kill, first of all I think you absolutely have to look at it as categories and not individual beings. I don't think it makes sense otherwise. I also feel like it makes a little more sense if you narrow the field a bit further by regarding "Creation" (as Lucifer specifically states) to be "beings that Chuck had a hand in creating/watching over" rather than treating the question as "all of existence".
That being said, here's my list:
    1.) Archangels
    2.) The Horsemen
3.) Knights of Hell (or any who are otherwise bound by the Mark of Cain)
4.) Leviathans (I am hesitantly tossing Eve in here as well, since we IMO have sufficient dialogue to support her being at least somewhat related to them despite Edgar's objections)
    5.) Shedim
I am not sure about the Shedim, mostly because we know so little about them -- including whether they predate Creation. They're just supposed to be "ancient scary demons exiled to Hell". Assuming they were from outside Creation, then I wouldn't mind moving Eve to their slot instead. I am deliberately not listing people like Jack or Jesse because while I think it's conceivable that they both could survive the Colt, both likely postdate the well-known establishment of the gun's limits and thus wouldn't be factored in to the saying. Likewise, I consider several primordial beings like Chuck, Amara, The Shadow, and the Cthulu-esque gods to exist outside of Creation and are probably not considered fair game. Maybe Soul Eaters, too.

the colt could be part of horseman of war since he is the meteor/comet wormwood and it was during the alamo which in a sense was a pretty serious war and event and maybe hailey’s comet is another name for wormwood, but since war horseman is not all powerful it couldn’t kill everything

I always thought he made a deal with crossroads demon, so that he could forge the gun, but then killed the demon using the gun, so that he didn't have to give up his soul, but instead dean and sam joined the party, which meant he went to an early grave, but passed it onto a future generation of hunters. This would also make sense given demons intimate knowledge of the gun, as it may have been a biproduct of a crossroads deal gone wrong, as it may have been the right place right time, but otherwise impossible without the comet, to complete the spell required to forge the gun, with maybe even a touch of lucifer's grace.

@AiMdExP It's from the episode "proverbs 17:3" which god reveals later (in "the trap")wasn't a nightmare but an alternative reality. And since all realities more or less follow the same rules (some exceptions) I'm pretty confident with the right knowledge you could equip an army of Hunters with colt guns. The writers just never did that as it would take most of the tension out of any episodes that didn't involve the five or more beings too powerful

The mention of “those men died in the Alamo” might be implying that those deaths might’ve been caused by the creator of the Colt or at least harnessed for its creation and capturing all that chaotic violent energy is part of what makes the Colt so deadly; strong emotions and the power of hundreds of souls being snuffed out.

The Colt itself was just something Samuel Colt made, but it was likely the bullets that held the real power, as without the right ammo, the Colt was just a gun, nothing really special asides from its legacy.

IIRC...There was also a line of dialog in the show where it was hinted that the "new bullets" were somehow different compared to the original 13 bullets, and the power behind them was somehow different too. Vague but never elaborated on.

Aside from the obvious thing that the gun is a reusable MacGuffin for many episodes, and the bullets also is a MacGuffin for many episodes. Most guns are machined or casted. However i think the metal in the gun is inscribed, then folded. That way it is possible to hide the spell inside of the metal. Can't really reverse engineer that in any way i know of. If you wanna go into the mechanics, i'd guess the cylinder could serve as the bowl in the ritual. and the gunpowder as the fire.

The theory I have in my head as of listening to this is that the "men dying at the Alamo" is important because of reapers, or more importantly death, so maybe it involves capturing the powers of Death himself. As the only other thing that could kill practically anything besides Cain's knife and the Gun is Death's Scythe. The rest of how the gun works, being making discount angel blade alloy, makes sense with this too. I believe it can explain why it bypasses magical resistances and attacks a creature's soul/spirit rather than just the body. Though the rift closing/making theory you have is also good. Though I don't think that the writers thought that far ahead seeing as the series was potentially gonna end with season 5. Though its would be a great explanation in hindsight!

Though the railway devil trap could have taken longer than 5 months to build with the right man power and reasoning, in my mind it wasn't do much that the colt was made to open the door but the oter way. They created the gun, then the door and then the devils trap to stop any demons from getting to the door and there only being one item that can open the door and its one of the few items that can kill most demons. It being a gun was more of a nod to who made it rather than that being its actual purpose

Ok you are missing one aspect. Magic and Religion when dealing with demons and spirits and faye folk works completely different from reality.
Here in reality we work on a basis of logic and physics. Demons and spirits work on a basis of contracts and beliefs, the contracts work simply off of belief, this is why demons can be warded off with faith and incantations.
Now this being said, all the rituals performed in magic and the cults of Christianity and Judaism are the same thing, they are a form of contractual structure that create belief. They create rules in the opponents reality.
So, this ritual performed and says that they have acquired the required power to create a weapon that can kill such and such and the enemy says "yeah seems legit". Now their own belief creates the rule that they can be killed by the weapon.
What gives certain creatures resistance or immunity to the weapon is logical loopholes that suspend or break this belief.
An example would be an Arch Demon going "oh yeah well ok but I can just stop bullets in mid air, or Lucy just going "Yeah but I am Lucifer and above that shit".
Basically the higher the power scaling and knowledge the easier it is for these beings to look into the physics of their reality and see the loopholes in the binding rules.
Then we have the simple fact that God in this story is quite quirky and at his wits end trying to make his story work. When humans did their ritual that said "we have made this all powerful weapon", God said sure why not, that sounds fun. So while God wasn't fooled by this ritual, he did decide to sign off on it being true.
That is just with the purpose of rituals in magic and religion.
Now we consider the most likely answer.
God in this story is just a horrible writer, he did come up with the gun, but his attention to detail is a bit off.
So he just wrote "yeah the gun is real and they made it". But he did not include detailing what the gun is made from or how the ritual works.
He just wrote the gun works, unless I deem it not to for drama.
Lastly it could be a combination of both of those things.
God wrote "Yeah they made this gun and it one shots everything because of this cryptic ritual". And then all the demons and angels and mythical creatures said "yeah that makes sense" and were thus bound by this contract as reality.
The issue why some are immune or resistant to the colt is simply power scaling and knowledge base.
For example: Lucifer is one of God's biggest critics and know his writing is shitty with little care put into it. This gives him the power to break the belief with just a simple "yeah, sounds like bullshit to me, how could I, ME, LUCIFER, THE MOST POWERFUL ARCHANGEL, fall to a human made weapon?", thus breaking his bonds to this contract.

I think Chuck created it just to amuse himself. He didn't want Lucifer using it to kill Michael so he gave it limitations. There have been spells in Supernatural that were absurdly powerful and somebody made the amulet that could detect God ,which is ridiculous, but that was a joke because it only worked when Chuck wanted it to.
The fact that there were about a kjillion Michaels and Lucifers kind of throws everything up for grabs though. If they couldn't move between realities then it would work but having two Michaels or Lucifers in the same universe was just crazy. You also have to wonder why Chuck would allow Jack to be created and why didn't he know what would happen ? He knows the future. The show had way too many giant holes in it. The one thing I really want to know is if the universe that Balthazar sent them to was real or some kind of illusion or something else. Raphael couldn't just go there and the doorway wasn't a rift like the one that Jack created...also, Jack is more powerful than Chuck so what does that mean and what happened to Amara when Jack made Chuck human ? Did every universe have it's own void and "cosmic being" and how many cosmic beings were there anyways ?

I know this is old but I want to add one little factoid. Just before the 1836 Halley’s Comet event, we don’t know why but Halley brought something along the ride with her. A 500 pound meteorite filled with unique metals of different compositions. The meteorite didn’t break off of Halley, just followed her to Earth and crashed in southern Texas.
I have a personal head canon, so take it with a grain of salt, that Samuel Colt used the meteorite’s metals, a miracle made physical, to forge the Colt at the furnace at Fort Alamo.
Why I think this how a crystallized lightning bolt had insane levels of powers, enough to summon and bound Death to its user, during the episodes of when Castiel absorbed all the monsters of Purgatory and went around did bible miracles to betray himself as God. So it’s not to much of a stretch to imagine a meteorite could be considered a miracle. So that’s material on the check list.
Next is location. The Alamo fight happened less than 1 year from the forging of the cult. Based on other events, we know spilt blood doesn’t have to be recent based on how Lucifer used the location of a Civil War battlefield in a ritual to awaken Death. The more recent the bloodshed was might make the ritual more powerful but that’s just a theory. So that’s location checked off.
Next is timing, he forged the Colt during the night Halley’s Comet came through, based on other episodes of how it had to be during a lunar eclipse to open the gates to purgatory. Lunar eclipses are cool and are rare but they are No way anywhere as rare as Halley’s Comet. So I feel like that’s timing checked off.
Lastly the runes. I don’t think we know where and what runes on the gun do and come from but based on other episodes we know runic graving can imbue a weapon with series levels of power. Like the Lance of Micheal, it was strong enough to kill angels and demons and not your ordinary run of the mills demon/angels. It’s strong enough to fatally wound and poison as a Seraphim angel and strong enough to instantly 1 shot a Prince of Hell, as the weapon only had a super small amount of runes craved into, like 5 sigils on it. So if any of the many-many runes in the Colt and the bullets are accurate, then it could give it a bit more power to it. So that’s enchanting checked off.
Edit: sorry for the tangent, didn’t mean for this comment to go that long lol

You could maybe pull a connection. (Or lack of connection to be more precise) from god, the comet and the gun.
Technically, like 99% of all light in the universe comes from stars.
The rest would be stuff like, lightning, lava, other natural phenomenon. or...
what's known as the luciferium response.
A luciferium response is anything that naturally produces light without heat.
It's actually named that because Lucifer means light bringer. But you could stretch that in a universe where literally Lucifer and god exist. To mean a light outside god's light. Or not from god.
Most light from a comet is just a reflection of starlight, same as with the moon.
But we're not going by the normal rules of physics here.
1st day god created light. The stars.
All other light produced naturally or many made on earth, would also be under gods domain. "I am the light of the world"
But the light from a comet. That's something else. If we suspend believe for a moment and say the comet actually produces it's own light. Not just reflects it.
Then the light that may have illuminated Samuel Colts workpiece as he built it.
You could make the argument it wasn't of god creation. His eyes weren't upon it. It wasn't part of his divine plan.
But Samuels were. It was his intention. Not gods, and he wanted a weapon that could kill. Kill basically anything.
The 5 things then, by extension would be 5 things Samuel either wouldn't have wanted to, or didn't think could be killed.
God, Amara, eve, arch angels, 4 Horsemen.
Things that are either considered concepts such as darkness, or war, famine, death. Or things he wouldn't have considered killable. Arch-angels, god himself.

Cool theories, I never watched the show past season 6, but my personal headcannon was always that Sam Colt was important to the creation of the deadliest gun ever made, that only the hands that would create weapons that would take millions of lives over the decades were able to make it. It would go a ways explain why the Colt never gets remade or copied, since they can't just ask Sam to make them another one.
I agree with your theory that the meteor is important, though I would explore it a little differently, a lot of rituals from various cultures place special importance on specific times of day, or times of the year (solstices, that kind of thing), with rarer times that only happened once a year or less being of particular importance. What unifies all these different times/dates, regardless of what is being used to track them, is that they all describe a specific moment in time that is "special" in one way or another to that culture. Comets are pretty unique in that they are quite reliable in their patterns, and can have VERY long periods between appearances, so they happen less frequently than most reliable phenomena and are therefore more important.

I feel as though the colt was made from multiple diffrent power sources the melt is from an angel blade. And then it might have multiple other power sources like the wood being made from a special type of tree. Plus the handle being like a devils trap on it

I've always liked to think of it as this just because you have an ultimate all power gun doesn't fix all your problems. I like to think that the Universe has to correct itself somehow it has to have restrictions.
Magic is just one of those things I like to believe within Supernatural that yeah you can do something but there has to be a limit. There has to be restrictions the greater the spell the more restrictions have to be made.
And I think that's God's doing that's the universe trying to correct itself and keep order and balance. Sure I can have an all-powerful spell to Nuke the city but they have to be requirements in order to do it. Time sacrifice and belief that it will happen.
That's why I would like to believe about the colt the colt may be the most dangerous gun in the world and it can Spirit kill but I would like to believe that maybe the creator of the gun restricted its capabilities so that it would have the maximum output.
You know checks and balances calamity balance and counterbalance. Equivalent Exchange having all powerful gun that can kill anything but the trade-off it can't kill everything. The more powerful and older the creature the less likely it can kill it. Without a loophole.

Out of all the equipment in supernatural the Colt is one of my favorite and to bad they didn't bring back outside of a small apperance in the Winchesters show. I would have like to see it comeback or least an improved version of it where it kill at least 3 to 4 out the 5 things it originally couldn't kill and it could like another famous colt weapon(ex. Walker, Single action army revolver/peacemaker etc.)

Death said he could kill dean with the Mark, but didn't want to cuz cosmic consequences.

      @ooo8430 Год назад +1

No, iirc, Death said, “and that Mark on your arm is the first curse. Nothing can kill you”, to Dean, so not even him.
Death could transfer the Mark to someone else, and then be able kill Dean, but then it wouldn’t be killing “someone with the Mark” anymore. Death could also probably kill Dean whilst removing the Mark at the same time, but again, that really wouldn’t be “someone with the Mark” anymore either.
I assume this is the case, because the Mark is tied to the Darkness, so the bearer of the Mark is as immortal as the Darkness (thus, not even Death itself would be able to kill and reap someone with the Mark).
So no, Death wouldn’t be able to kill someone with the Mark, at least, not without “undoing” the Mark in some way; Death can’t (permanently) kill someone with the Mark, whilst still having the Mark itself intact to the respective host, is what I’m trying to get across.

It's the spell put on the bullets. Remember when Bobby was trying to fix it he shot ruby and it didn't kill her. When sam was with the British men of letters he didn't have any bullets so he used a spell and it killed the alpha vampire. The 5 things it can't kill are Archangels, leviathan, eve from purgatory, knights of hell and nephilim. Remember it's 5 things in creation and chuck, amara, death and the empty were around before creation

I guess I hav to point this out....From what I remember, there was one reference that the colt was forged with metals that came from a crash site of a rock from space. I have a couple theories on this...first is that a chunk of haley's comet broke off and touched down on earth and was later found maybe hundreds of years later by the one who collected the sampkles of that metal to create said colt. With this said, theory 1 begins.....first is the metal in question was the same metals from hailey's comet began resonating with it's fragments during the creation process in which the mystic metals of haley's comet gave the colt the power to kill almost any creature that breath in one shot. Now I can get into the list of the 5 exceptions later....now theory 2 is the metals didn't exactly matter and the significance of the comet is derived of a event of something else entirely...maybe a rip in space happened and some energies that were not meant to be in that particular reality entered and began resonating with haley's comet and the light of haley's comet touched down on the colt during it's construction. With that done, it would be enchanted with something not of that universe at all and something of another. that is theory 2. Last theory is a long shot. During the events of the haley's comet event, a hol opened up into the big empty. granted I know no being has control or dominion over the big empty except one being which resides there on the exception being jack which I am still working out. however this rip allowed some of the energy of that being to escape and entered the metals of the colt or maybe the metals were saturated in that power as a whole when crafted under the intent of the creator and created a weapon that can kill almost all creatures. Now with those 3 theories brought out, I can get to the 5 exceptions....first is archangels which is widely known to be the closest thing to being a god of the celestials or in this case the god of creation or the bible if you will....Next are the gods themselves like chuck and amara being the second exceptions since they are classified as higher gods of creation. number 3 would be the hell knights which were created by the touch of amara's darkness so that is number 3 along those lines. number 4 is the primordial creatures like the one tat created lycans, vampires, and other such creatures and even Leviathans. then there is the last one.....The horseman of the apocolpse. From what is known about these particular entities. They have been around far longer than any known god or goddess in existence in this universe of the supernatural and as such they are classified as primorial entities of there own right, but.....they is a way around it....If they last there mantle of power which would be there rings, then they could be killed by the colt. With this said are the 5 stated. there is a hypethetical 6th which would be A nephilim sired by a archangel since Jack is classified being more powerful than lucifer himself and also able to influence the big empty even though god can't I say he is the 6th exception in all of this...I dare anyone to tell me otherwise on the exception and voice any replies you have on my theories and the exception if you have any.

Before the battle of Jericho Joshua was made invincible by The Angel of The Lord so maybe it couldn't hurt him.

There's an easy explanation for why nobody has ever made another Colt, its because it was made using special magic enchanting it with the power of the Haylin Comet that was passing overhead. Meaning nobody can hope to recreate the Colt unless that same comet were flying overhead and the maker knew the spell(s) to enchant the gun. Samuel Colt made that gun to double as a key to a Gate to Hell he sealed personally. It didn't just 'kill anything', it has alot of different magic effects etched into it, such as cursing the bullets specially enchanted to accept the curses. When the gun is fired, the bullets will have a death curse for each specific monster save for five specific things in Creation that had more power than the Haylin Comet itself.

Just pointing out Halley's comet passed a year before the Alamo, so it's not possible (unless in universe is different) that it was made on the same night of the Alamo & during the passing of the comet.

My personal theory is that the Colt is actually a Philosopher Stone. Think about it, comets are the strongest catalyst in alchemy, the sacrifices of hundreds of human souls from the Alamo, the giant country-wide pentagram (an alchemic symbol) and at the center is the Colt

I like the theory that Colt is made to free Luci. And from that this is a list of things that it can`t kill (I`d made it more like in creature types): Luci and Primordial (Death, Amanda, Empty, and God). Mark of Kayne gives a little power from Amanda, but it is still Amanda's power so I don't count Cain, but that doesn`t count. And maybe it couldn`t kill Jack, because of Luci's blood, but when Luci tells about 5 things it couldn`t kill - Jack doesn't exist. And if we think that the main creator of the gun is Luci, the statement of 5 things may not be true if he doesn't know every creature.
So if review your list, that is my thoughs:
    - Cain - yes, but for other reason
    - Leviathans and Eve - no, because they are just some other species like angels or demons, and I`m pretty sure Colt can kill them. Leviathans were before angels, but archangels were made earlier, so Luci knows about them and I believe they are no threat to him. The main threat of Leviathans is their intelligence. And Eve, same to .
    - Shedim`s - no, same as Leviathans, but a lot closer to demons. I believe that they are just uncontrollable force, like nuke or like Paradooms from DC (Paradeamons + Doomsday)
    - Jack - yes, but for other reason
    - Lovecraft monsters-I think no (but it's the closest for me because it feels non-canon). I doubt that God created those, so it could be the creation of Eve. Eve created vampires and werewolves by a few seconds, but what if she crafted something years (hundreds or thousands) to make a monster? But Luci was trapped a long time ago so he might even don't know of their existence, so they might be 7th creatures that can`t be killed by Colt.
That is my take on the list. The video is great, thank you for your work. And I'm pretty sure that creators don't know the whole list too what they meant by that point))
